Development of a English Vocabulary Context-Learning Agent based on Smartphone (스마트폰 기반 영어 어휘 상황학습 에이전트 개발)

  • Recently, mobile application for english vocabulary learning is being developed actively. However, most mobile English vocabulary learning applications did not effectively connected with the technical advantages of mobile learning. Also,the study of mobile english vocabulary learning app are still insufficient. Therefore, this paper development a english vocabulary context-learning Agent that can practice context learning more reasonably using a location-based service, a character recognition technology and augmented reality technology based on smart phones. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed agent, we have measured the precision and usability. As results of experiments, the precision of learning vocabulary is 89% and 'Match between system and the real world', 'User control and freedom', 'Recognition rather than recall', 'Aesthetic and minimalist design' appeared to be respectively 3.91, 3.80, 3.85, 4.01 in evaluation of usability. It were obtained significant results.

  • Microsystems combine several microcomponents, optimized an entire system, to provide several specific technical functions by the shape of the microstructure. Microfabrication and micromachining techniques have played the key role in the fast development and commercialization of microsystems. Microreaction technology based on microsystems is a powerful tool for the evaluating new process and reaction pathways in chemical engineering. Because of the small characteristic dimensions of microreaction devices, mass and heat transfer processes are enhanced and, in addition, reaction conditions can be precisely controlled for optimizing yield and selectivity. The paper will report on the mixer design principle and explore several application fields of microreaction technology in the chemical synthesis

  • An automotive wheel bearing is one of the most important components to guarantee the service life of a passenger car. The endurance life of a bearing is affected by many parameters such as material properties, heat treatment, lubrication conditions, temperature, loading conditions, bearing geometry, internal clearance and so on. Generally, a tapered roller bearing gives longer endurance life than that of an equivalent size ball bearing. Consequently, the application of taper bearing units will be increased for more compact design and extended warranty. In this paper, we derive the relation between loads and deformations of a taper bearing unit. On the basis of that, we calculate the endurance life of the taper bearing unit considering initial axial clearance.

  • Predicting the fire resistance of structures has been significantly advanced by full scale fire tests in conjunction with improved understanding of compartmental fire. Despite the progress, application of insulation is still required to parts of structural steelwork to achieve over 60 minutes of fire rating. It is now recognised that uncertainties on insulation properties hinder adaptation of performance based designs for different types of structures. Intumescent coating has recently appeared to be one of most popular insulation types for steel structures, but its design method remains to be confirmed by empirical data, as technical difficulties on the determination of the material properties at elevated temperatures exist. These need to take into account of further physiochemical transitions such as moving boundary and endothermic reaction. The impetus for this research is to investigate the applicability of the conventional differential equation solution which examines the temperature rise on coated steel members by an inorganic intumescent coating, provided that the temperature-dependent thermal/mechanical insulation properties are experimentally defined in lab scale tests.

  • In recent years, the United States have been several major failures of launch. As a result of these failures, activity of mission assurance valued. Mission assurance is defined as the application of systems engineering process towards the goal of achieving mission success. Therefore, mission assurance perform independent technical assessments throughout the concept and requirements definition, design, development, production, test, deployment, and operations phases. Space system program was emphasized the importance of the system engineering for that required huge cost and long term development. For this reason, independent review and verification of mission assurance is essential. Mission assurance gives us confidence to proceed with launch and best opportunity for mission success. In this study, framework of mission assurance is proposed by foreign case analysis.

  • In this paper, a particular application of digital photos, remote sensing, remote shooting air moving, high-resolution and high compression of medical images required by remote shooting of JPEG2000 standard applied in the field of hardware design, production was implemented. JPEG2000 standard for image compression using the software implementation of the processing speed is very slow compared to conventional JPEG disadvantages, and also the standard of JPEG2000 DWT (Discrete wavelet transform) to improve the level of compression for image data if processing speed is a phenomenon that has degraded. In order to solve these JPEG2000 compression / decompression groups were designed and applied. In this paper, the optimal JPEG2000 compression / reservoir hardware by changing the level for still image compression, faster computation speed and quality has shown improvement.

  • On last year's KSR conference, the general of systems engineering technology was introduced on the focus that the SEMP(Systems Engineering Management Plan) being applied for a national project of 'Urban Maglev Program'. Since this SEMP covers very wide work scopes of 'plan, application, control of the program', 'design, analysis, test & evaluation of the system', and 'special engineering activities', it is very important that the tasks and responsibilities of all participants of the project, involving the tasks to collaborate between them, are clearly defined and described. By the point, the updating of SEMP should be done continuously. In this paper, the updating points and typically the management plan of TPM (Technical Performance Measurement), which is more concretely defined, will be explained.

  • On account of Indoor Air Quality(IAQ) deterioration by reason of high isulation and air tightness for energy saving, absence of energy efficiency ventilation system development that can be domestic existing window system, the cost increase and the energy addition loss by mechanical ventilation for IAQ improvement the ventilation obligation making design standard was prepared by a social and technical background and the necessity. In this study, open module type natural ventilation window system for energy saving included a fixed and continuous quantity ventilation was developed. Improvement of Fracture Toughness in 7XXX Series Aluminum Alloy Forings (7XXX계 알루미늄합금 단조재의 파괴인성 개선)

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of impurity level and fabrication processes on the strength, impact and fracture toughness of 7075, 7050 and 7175 aluminum alloy forgings. A specially processed 7175S-T74 aluminum forgings was superior to a conventionally processed 7075-T73, 7050-T74 and 7175-T74 aluminum forgings in both strength and toughness. The reduction of impurity level of iron and silicon has significantly diminished the size and volume fraction of second phase particles such as $Al_7Cu_2Fe$ and $Mg_2Si$. A further reduction of the amount of second phase particles has been observed by applying a special fabrication process. This phenomena result from the application of intermediate soaking at higher temperature and more sufficiant hot working temperature than that of a conventional processing.

  • A review of the 2nd generation of intact stability by the International Maritime Organization is performed. The main issues with the new stability criteria are reviewed. In particular, the physical background and related mathematical formulations of the pure loss of stability and parametric roll are summarized. Based on a literature review, benchmark calculation results for 17 different types of ships are discussed, and the final results are in excellent agreement with our physical expectations. Some relatively serious design problems are found in the application of the new stability criteria to sample ships built in Korea, and possible technical solutions are proposed, which have to be improved in the coming years.
