  • In this paper, we aim to develop teaching and learning materials for coding and mathematics convergence classes using Python in middle school. We suggest teaching and learning materials based on computational thinking (CT) using the basic terminology of Python. Many middle school students are familiar with block coding instead of text coding. We provide teaching resources for Basic1, Basic2, and Advanced classes, considering this circumstance. The Basic1 and Basic2 teaching resources contain the basic grammar of Python with simple examples. The Advanced teaching resources are more focused on complicated mathematics and coding problems. We apply these teaching and learning materials to middle school students. The results indicate that this project can be positively applied to learners.

  • The learning materials in elementary school science textbooks should include all kinds of materials being used by both teachers and students in the science teaching. The major purpose of this research is to analysis textbooks and teacher's guidebooks prepared for the science teaching of 3-6 grade students. To clarify this research, we listed whole of the learning materials of science teaching for each grade and counted numbers being used for whole of the lessons of science. And according to the characteristics and the methods of its preparation of materials, the types of learning materials can be divided into 10 categories such as teaching equipments for science, test materials, consumables, audio-visual aids, teaching equipments in general, collecting' recycling materials, field studies' collected data, breeding' cultivation materials, manufacture materials, and etc. At the result of this research, the 7th national science curriculum needs total 844 items of learning materials for science education. They could be separated into ten types of categories such as 159 items of teaching equipments for science, 65 items of test materials, 116 items of consumables, 198 items of audio-visual aids, 64 items teaching equipments in general, 31 items of collecting' recycling materials, 38 items of field studies (collecting) materials, 17 items of breeding-cultivation materials, 58 items of manufacturing materials, 105 items of other materials. And we found out that there were 332 items of materials for the 3rd grade, 303 items for the 4th grade, 324 items for the 5th grade, and 254 items for the 6th grade. The result of this research could be useful for classroom activities for science teaching.

  • This study developed teaching-learning materials for mathematics and coding convergence classes using Python, focusing on 'Prime Factorization' of seventh graders. After applying the teaching methods and contents to the students, they analyzed whether the learners achieved their learning goals. The results were used to modify and supplement teaching and learning materials. Affective domain of learners were also analyzed. The results are that the teaching methods and contents of the developed teaching-learning materials were generally appropriate for learners. The learners understood most of the lessons according to the set teaching methods of all classes. And learners have mostly reached their learning goals. In addition, as a result of analyzing the definition characteristics of learners through follow-up interviews, the interest in mathematics and programming has improved. The developed teaching and learning materials of this study are well consisted mostly of the teaching methods and the contents of the classes, and are organized so that learners can reach most of the learning goals. It also brought positive changes to the affective domain of mathematics and coding, demonstrating the potential for useful use in school.

  • If we followed to be based on the result of survey for researching on the actual condition about e-Learning of the MOE(2004), the critical problem has been suggested managing the quality of teaching and learning materials(37.68%(1775/4717)). If we also reviewed the research of the KICE(2002), the superior material's rate of 70,000 teaching and learning materials of the web site, the educational organization, and teachers was 8.7%. There was some suggestions about the quality problem of the teaching and learning material, but there wasn't the alternative policy: there wasn't the systemic program for managing the message quality of teaching and learning materials. The purpose of this study was to develop the alternative system for managing the message quality of teaching and learning materials. The alternative system of this study's result will be the basic to build the system for managing the message quality of teaching and learning materials. I expect that my system will be the useful tool for managing the message quality of teaching and learning materials.

  • This research is focused on the development of Math teaching and/or learning materials in which the students are centered, not teachers, and which can, in turn, activate and reinforce the students' extra curricular Math activitie The findings I came to have through my research can be summarized as follows: 1. Math teaching and/or learning materials developed based on the students' interactions in the Math extra-curricular activities helped students to learn Math better and to be more interested in Math. 2. There was a positive attitude change toward Math on the side of the students after being introduced in and exposed to Math through the above mentioned Math teaching and/or learning materials. 3. There was a positive attitude change toward Math on the side of the students after being taught Math using the above mentioned Math teaching and/or learning materials. The suggestions I came to have through my research are as follows: 1. There need to be more consistent efforts in developing the Math teaching and/or learning materials which can be used in the Math extra-curricular activities. 2. There need to be more consistent efforts in developing Math teaching paradigms which can be used in Math extra-curricular activities. 3. There need to be more consistent efforts in developing the Math teaching and/or learning materials which can be used in the Math class as well as in Math extra-curricular activities. 4. There need to be more consistent efforts in developing the Math teaching and/or learning materials which are more grade-, unit-, and category-conscious.

  • Even though many researchers have reported that everyday contexts can arouse students' interests and improve their science learning, the connection between everyday context and physics learning is not yet clearly discussed. In our study, at first, we assumed five guidelines for helping the development of teaching materials for physics learning in everyday context. Based on these guidelines, we developed teaching materials for understanding basic optics and applied these materials to ninth grade students. From the positive responses of students and science teachers about the developed materials, we could confirm that the guidelines were reflected well in the materials. And also, it was found that students and teachers wanted to learn or teach context-based physics in future classroom learning. However, all students do not receive benefits from learning physics in everyday context. By analyzing students' actual learning processes and interviews with them, we found five potential impeding factors which could hinder students' successful learning of physics in everyday context. As a result, we suggested five recommendations for overcoming these impeding factors.

  • This study aims to develop AI mathematics teaching and learning materials for high school students using interactive AI (ChatGPT). The selected topics include text representation, classification, and prediction related to natural language processing, which are key contents of the 'AI Mathematics' curriculum. Python programming language and ChatGPT are employed as educational tools, with Python being accessible through Google Colab. The developed teaching and learning materials are structured into six block sessions, designed to leverage ChatGPT's language proficiency, information provision, creativity, and programming capabilities. Specifically, students sequentially experience code inspection, improvement, explanation, and generation using ChatGPT's programming abilities, culminating in creating their own chatbot program code. The application of these teaching and learning materials resulted in the participating high school sophomores understanding the principles of chatbots using natural language processing and the mathematical aspects within AI technology. The students exhibited positive responses toward using ChatGPT and Python. This suggests that classes utilizing ChatGPT can enhance students' interest and engagement in AI technology, mathematics, and related tools.

  • In this paper, a series of tasks related on polygonal numbers and pyramidal numbers are suggested for using them as teaching unit materials for teaching and learning of sequences in junior high school mathematics. Especially, finding n-th term in those seque-nces, relations among polygonal numbers, and relations among Pyramidal numbers are focused on. A series of tasks related on polygonal numbers and pyramidal numbers have three math-eucational values. First, they have a value as natural materials for teaching and teaming of finding nth term of original sequences using pro-gression of differences. Second, they have a value as materials for teaching and learning of mathematical thinking such as general-ization, analogy, etc. Third, they have a value as materials for teaching and learning of algebraic operation, proof, and connecting mathematical knowledges.

  • To improve the elementary student's ability to classify the data and obtain the information from the data through graphics, it is necessary to use the teaching and learning material which encourage the student to study with interest and is adjacent to the student's environment. In this thesis. several materials to satisfy the condition is proposed together with some remarks to direct the teaching. These materials is recommended to use for the maturity learning and teaching in grade 6.
