  • 본 논문에서는 공항 지상 감시 장비(ASDE: Airport Surface Detection Equipment) 데이터를 이용하여 항공기의 지상이동 운항모드를 추정하는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법에서는 항공기의 운항모드와 그에 따라 관측되는 속도 및 가속도를 확률 변수로 정의함으로써, 확률적 추정방법을 통해 운항모드를 추정하였다. 운항모드를 추정하기 위한 모형으로서는 은닉 마르코프 모형(HMM: Hidden Markov Model)을 사용하였으며 실제 ASDE 데이터를 통해 제안된 방법의 성능을 검증해 보았다.

  • For a company operating lots of vehicle, such as taxi companies or delivery company, a system telling the position of each vehicle is essential. Conventional methods are based on personal communication between a operator in head-office and driver at the car. Since driver cannot respond to the communication while he drives or when lie is out of car. the communication often fails. So, a system identifying and reporting the vehicle position offers groat help to those kind of company.

  • COSMOS system which was developed in Seoul for real-time signal control was designed to judge traffic condition for practicing signal operation. However, it occurs efficiency problem that stop line detection and queue length detection could not judge overflow saturation of street. For that reason, following research process GPS data of Seoul city's corporationowned taxi to calculate travel speed that excluded existing system of stop line detection and queue length detection. Also, "Research of calculating queue length by GPS data" which was progressed with following research expressed queue length. It is based on establishing algorithm of judging congestion situation. The algorithm was applied to a few areas where appeared congestion situation consistently to confirm real time traffic condition with established network.   • The Bird strike to small aircraft has not been an issue because of it's low speed and usage as a private aircraft. So, the compliance of the bird strike regulation is limited to large fixed-wing aircraft such as the commuter category in FAR Part 23 and the civil aircraft in FAR Part 25, generally. However, the forecast of dramatic increasing of VLJ(Very Light Jet) and (light time of general aviation due to Air-taxi for the point to point transportation, would rise up the need of bird strike regulations and a safety enhancement in normal and utility categorized aircraft. In this study, the safety enhancement concept using a crushable foam for the bird strike to small aircraft wing leading edge, and the evaluation about the safety of the bird strike to small aircraft are proposed using the explicit finite element analysis.

A Benchmark Test of Spatial Big Data Processing Tools and a MapReduce Application

  • Spatial data processing often poses challenges due to the unique characteristics of spatial data and this becomes more complex in spatial big data processing. Some tools have been developed and provided to users; however, they are not common for a regular user. This paper presents a benchmark test between two notable tools of spatial big data processing: GIS Tools for Hadoop and SpatialHadoop. At the same time, a MapReduce application is introduced to be used as a baseline to evaluate the effectiveness of two tools and to derive the impact of number of maps/reduces on the performance. By using these tools and New York taxi trajectory data, we perform a spatial data processing related to filtering the drop-off locations within Manhattan area. Thereby, the performance of these tools is observed with respect to increasing of data size and changing number of worker nodes. The results of this study are as follows 1) GIS Tools for Hadoop automatically creates a Quadtree index in each spatial processing. Therefore, the performance is improved significantly. However, users should be familiar with Java to handle this tool conveniently. 2) SpatialHadoop does not automatically create a spatial index for the data. As a result, its performance is much lower than GIS Tool for Hadoop on a same spatial processing. However, SpatialHadoop achieved the best result in terms of performing a range query. 3) The performance of our MapReduce application has increased four times after changing the number of reduces from 1 to 12.

  • Recent studies in Big Data Analysis are showing promising results, utilizing the main memory for rapid data processing. In-memory computing technology can be highly advantageous when used with high-performing servers having tens of gigabytes of RAM with multi-core processors. The constraint in network in these infrastructure can be lessen by combining in-memory technology with distributed parallel processing. This paper discusses the research in the aforementioned concept applying to a test taxi hailing application without disregard to its underlying RDBMS structure. The application of IMDG technology in the application's backend API without restructuring the database schema yields 6 to 9 times increase in performance in data processing and throughput. Specifically, the change in throughput is very small even with increase in data load processing.

Effects of Experiential Value on Continuous Use Intention for On-Demand Services (온디맨드(On-Demand) 서비스의 지속사용의도에 대한 경험가치 효과)

  • On-Demand services have emerged as one of the core business strategies for delivering new experiential values by providing customized services in different user-needs nowadays. Based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework, this paper focuses on the factors of environmental stimulation and emotional states of the demand-side that induce continuous intention of use from the On-Demand services. The study defines 'Informativeness', 'Fulfillment', 'Trust', and 'Convenience' as the properties of the On-Demand services and considers 'Playfulness', 'Customer Return on Investment (CROI)', and 'Service Excellence' as the aspects of the experiential values. The research shows that 'Fulfillment', 'Trust' and 'Convenience' affected the experiential value in 'Kakao Taxi (On-Demand transportation service)' while 'Informativeness', 'Fulfillment', 'Trust of platform', and 'Convenience' are represented as the related factors to the experiential value in 'Baedal Minjok (On-Demand food delivery service)'. The experiential value factors, 'CROI' and 'Service Excellence', are shown directly related to the continuous intention of use in both services. A partial mediation relationship is, furthermore, observed between the aspects of 'CROI' and 'Service Excellence' in Kakao Taxi and its 'Convenience' and 'Continuous intention of use.' In Baedal Minjok, a partial mediation relationship is found between the 'CROI' with its aspects of 'Trust of the platform', 'Convenience', and 'Continuous intention of use' as well. The results of this study may contribute a comprehensive understanding of the purpose of On-Demand services and its needs from the demand-side thus can be helpful for the supply-side.

Development of Queue Length, Link Travel Time Estimation and Traffic Condition Decision Algorithm using Taxi GPS Data (택시 GPS데이터를 활용한 대기차량길이, 링크통행시간 추정 및 교통상황판단 알고리즘 개발)

  • As the part of study which handles the measure to use the individual vehicle information of taxi GPS data on signal controls in order to overcome the limitation of Loop detector-based collecting methods of real-time signal control system, this paper conducted series of evaluations and improvements on link travel time, queue vehicle time estimates and traffic condition decision algorithm from the research introduced in 2016. considering the control group and the other, the link travel time has enhanced the travel time and the length of queue vehicle has enhanced the estimated model taking account of the traffic situation. It is analyzed that the accuracy of the average link travel time and the length of queue vehicle are respectably both approximately 95 % and 85%. The traffic condition decision algorithm reflected the improved travel speed and vehicle length. Smoothing was performed to determine the trend of the traffic situation and reduce the fluctuation of the data, and the algorithms have refined so as to reflect the pass period on overflow judgment criterion.

Severity Analysis for Vulnerable Pedestrian Accident Utilizing Vehicle Recorder Database of Taxi (택시 영상DB를 활용한 교통약자 보행자 사고의 심각도 분석)

  • This study proposes severity analysis for pedestrian accidents by improving variables which were used for general severity analysis. The existing variables were collected based on the interviews with policeman or witnesses and evidence of accidents. Therefore, existing variables were subjective and had several measurement errors. In order to improve such problems, this study collected variables from vehicle recorder of taxi which recorded the moment of accidents. As a result, explanatory power of independent variables was enhanced and the complete objective variables could be collected. After collecting variables, ordered probit model was developed by utilizing vehicle recorder database. Fitness of ordered probit model was 0.23. Vehicle speed and pedestrian's eye direction variables were the most critical factors for severity of pedestrian accident. In addition, severity analysis for vulnerable pedestrian was carried out. As a result, it was revealed that vehicle speed, pedestrian's eye direction and safety zone variables affected the severity of pedestrian accidents most. Particularly, vehicle speed variable is the most important factor. Consequently, driver's defensive driving and compliance to the regulations are the priority to reduce severity of pedestrian accidents and prevent pedestrian accident.

  • This study aims to discuss the current status of the ride-sharing platform industry, which embodies the core values of the 4th Industrial Revolution, sharing and connectivity, as well as economic, industrial, and legal issues. To understand the position of competing groups, the research conducted extensive literature reviews on domestic and international cases of technical and legal issues of the sharing economy. The result indicates that the ride sharing industry showed the economy of synthesis in which production, supply, distribution, and consumption are on one platform. It made possible to share values to users and synthesize them with new services through easy-access mobile application technology. To resolve the conflicts between the taxi industry and the ride sharing industry, this study suggests the following: Ride-sharing companies should make contributions to provide legitimate services. The taxi industry needs to understand the value of the new industry and consumers who chose the shared platform service. The significance of the current study is that it proposed a comprehensive analysis and policy direction toward the issue of balance between public and private interests and legal stability.
