한국재래산양(Capra hircus)의 태아 및 신생아의 혀 발달에 관한 형태학적 연구 (Morphological study on the development of the tongue in fetuses and neonates of Korean native goat (Capra hircus))

  • This study was carried out to investigate the morphological development of the tongue in the 60-, 90- and 120-day-old fetuses and neonates of Korean native goats by light microscopy. In 60-day-old fetuses, the tongue tissues were differentiated into epithelium, lamina propria, and muscle layer. The primordia of filiform, conical, lentiform, fungiform, and vallate papillae appeared by this time, and rudiments of taste buds were observed in the epithelia of the primordia gustatory papillae. The dorsal lingual epithelia were PAS positive. Collagenous fibers and blood vessels were present in the lamina propria. In 90-day-old fetuses, the gustatory glands were moderately positive for PAS and muscle fibers, and connective tissues were developed. In 120-day-old fetuses, many taste buds were observed in the gustatory papillae. The muscle bundles, collagenous fibers, blood vessels and gustatory glands were well developed. In neonates, over 40 taste buds were found in a transverse section of the vallate papillae. Muscle layers, blood vessels, collagenous fibers and gustatory glands were very well developed.

  • The skin of the eel goby, Odontamblyopus lacepedii, consists of epidermis, dermis and subcutis. The epidermis has three layers: the outermost layer, middle layer and stratum germinativum. The outermost layer is composed of polygonal cells or rather flattened cells, and mucous gland cells of acid mucopolysaccharides. The middle layer consists mainly of swollen small or voluminous epidermal cells and shows a web-shaped structure. The thickness of the epidermis depends on the various sizes and the number of layers of the swollen cells. Well-developed lymphatic spaces containing lymphocytes exist in the stratum germinativum and small scales are embedded in the dermis. A large number of blood capillaries are present just below the basement membrane, and a definite area giving AB and PAS positive was present between the basement membrane and scales, Taste buds ave distributed on surface of the epidermis at intervals. Considering the structural features of the skin, it may be considered that O. lacepedii is more likely to be related to cutaneous respiration as a dual respiratory system.

한국산 퉁가리과 (Amblycipitidge) 어류 2종 수염의 조직 학적 구조 (Histological Structure of the Barbels of Liobagrus andersoni and L. obesus (Amblycipitidae: Pices) from Korea)

  • Histological observations of the barbels of torrent catfish (Amblycipitidae) in Korea are reported. The bullhead torrent catfish (Liobagrus andersoni) and Korean torrent catfish (L. obesus) have eight obvious barbels in two pairs each on the maxilla and mandible. Each barbel is composed of an epidermis, dermis, and central cartilagerod. The epidermis of the maxillary and mandibular barbels of the bullhead torrent catfish is thicker than that of the Korean torrent catfish (P<0.05) and is formed of stratified epithelium that contains many cutaneous taste buds and a few small club cells. There are many taste buds on the upper part of each barbel. The dermis consists of loose connective tissue fibers that enclose blood vessels and bundles of nerve fibers. The barbels of these fish can be categorized into stiff and flexible types and are accessory, feeding, and sensory structures. Our results validate the barbels as gustatory receptor organs for these fishes.

조선시대(朝鮮時代) 술에 관한 분석적(分析的) 고찰(考察) -조선중기(朝鮮中期) 1600 년대(年代)를 중심(中心)으로- (A Study on Wine of Yi Dynasty in 1600)

  • As people know how to brew a wine from fruits and cereals, they continued to develope various wines good to their taste. Korean wines are also ones made from cereals and they have long been eager to improve the delicate taste. They used to drink Takju, raw rice wine, made from nonglutinous rice and Nuruk, a kind of yeast starter. During Koryo Dynasty, Soju a liquor was imported from Won(the Chinese dynasty). Nowadays this traditional folk wine, which had been developed variously and drunk all over the country, is decreasing year after year. The purpose of this study was to review on the wines ; its kinds, raw materials, brewing method, manufacturing utensils, measuring units and devices and the terms for wine making based on 20 documents published in 1600, in the middle of Yi dynesty. The results of review were as follows. 1. There were 121 kinds of wines at that time in Korea. 2. Among the raw materials for wines, major materials were glutinous rice, nonglutinous rice, wheat flour, wheat, mung bean, and black soybean. And minor materials were pepper corn, Lycium chinenisis, cinnamon, pine needles, pine nuts, jujube, mugwort leaves, lotus leaves, pine corn, pine bud, chrysanthemum, pine flowers, honey, Acanthopanox seoultenses, bamboo-root, marrowbone of blak cow, sweet flag, Ciprus noblis, Saurea lappa, honey suckle, Tricho santhes, azalea, the leaves of the paper mulberry, and bark of chungum tree. 3. There were several kinds of wines such as a wine without using Nuruk, a wine made from glutinous rice, nonglutinous rice, or glutinous and nonglutinous rice with flour. 4. There were several brewing methods for wines such as a wine boiled with ring rice cake, a wine brewed with loaves of rice cake, a wine brewed with hard boiled rice, a wine brewed with rice gruel, and a wine brewed with powdered rice gruel. 5. There were 23 kinds of utensils including measuring devices for weight and volume.

잉어, Cyprinus carpio와 동자개, Pseudobagrus fulvidraco 수염의 조직학적 관찰 (Histological Observation of the Barbel in Common Carp, Cyprinus carpio and Bagrid Catfish, Pseudobagrus fulvidraco)

  • 잉어, Cyprinus carpio와 동자개, Pseudobagrus fulvidraco의 상악 하악 수염을 조직학적으로 조사하였다. 동자개의 수염은 연골성 증축(axial rod of cartilage), 신경섬유다발(bundle of nerve fiber), 표피(epidermis), 평활근 층(smooth muscle layer) 및 미뢰(taste bud)로 구성되었으며, 잉어의 수염은 표피, 신경섬유다발, 혈관(blood vessel) 및 미뢰로 구성되었다. 수염 길이에서 잉어는 상악 바깥쪽 수염(second maxillary barbel)이 상악 안쪽 수염(first maxillary barbel) 보다 길게 나타났으며, 동자개는 하악 안쪽(inner mandibular barbel), 상악 위쪽(upper maxillary barbel), 하악 바깥쪽(outer mandibular barbel), 상악 아래쪽(lower maxillary barbel) 순으로 길게 나타났다(P<0.05). 미뢰의 수를 고려하였을 때, 동자개와 잉어간의 미각에 대한 유의적 차이가 없었다(P>0.05). 아울러, 두 어종의 모든 수염에서 수염 상부의 미뢰 수가 하부의 미뢰 수 보다 높게 나타났다(P<0.05). 본 연구 결과, 동자개의 수염은 딱딱하며 굴절성인 수염(flexible and stiff type)이었으며 잉어의 수염은 연하고 유연한 수염(tender and yielding type)으로 파악되었다.

한의원과 한방병원에서 행해지고 있는 소아에 대한 한약복약지도 현황 조사 연구 (A Survey of Actual Guides for Children to Take the Oriental Medicine in the Oriental Clinics & the Oriental Hospitals)

  • Objectives Children's unique taste bud often gives them difficult time to take oriental medicines. To overcome, survey was conducted focusing on useful and practical tips on how to take them. Methods The survey was carried out by posting mail questionnaire. Target clinics for the survey were selected by the internet search engine, Google, Daum, and Naver, and typing in "oriental treatment + pediatrics", "pediatrics + oriental medicine", "pediatric oriental clinic". 24 clinics were searched, but they were further narrowed down to the specialized pediatric oriental clinics. Also, total of 38 inquiry leaflets were distributed to 14 University Oriental Hospitals. Results If children refuse to take the medicine, mixture with sweeteners can be prescribed for them. Among them, oligosaccharide is the most recommended followed by sugar and honey. To avoid rejection to medication, use of different formulation, such as distillation medicine, soft X-Section, granulated medicine, and character printing can be used. Conclusions The most effective method is to investigate the mixture first, and then the alternative formulations.

딸기 근교계통 '원교3115호'와 '원교 3116호' 육성 (Breeding of inbred lines 'Wongyo 3115' and 'Wongyo 3116' in Strawberry)

  • '원교3115호'와 '원교3116호'는 종자와 영양체로 번식이 가능한 $S_9$세대의 근교계 품종으로 잡종강세 현상을 이용한 $F_1$ 품종육성을 위한 중간모본용으로 육성되었다. '원교 3115호'는 'Benihoppe' 유래 자식 계통($S_9$ 세대)으로 초형은 중간 직립형이고 초세는 원 품종보다 약하다. 화아분화는 빠른 편이고 화방당 꽃 수는 10개 내외이다. 과형은 원추형, 과색은 연분홍색이며 평균과중은 11g 내외의 소과종으로 수량은 원품종과 비교하여 매우 낮은 편이다. 이 품종의 가장 큰 특징으로 경도가 대조 품종에 비해 2배 정도 강하다. '원교 3116호'는 'Doyonoka' 유래 자식 계통으로 초형은 직립형이고 초세는 원 품종보다 약하다. 화아분화는 빠른 편이고 화방당 꽃 수는 8개 내외이다. 과형은 편구형, 과색은 적색이며 평균 과중은 12g 내외로 소과종이다. '원교 3116호'는 다른 근교 계통들에 비해 수량성이 높고 과형이 우수하다는 것이 가장 큰 특징이다. 품질에 있어서도 두 품종 모두 당산비가 적절하여 식미가 좋으나, 탄저병과 흰가루병에는 이병성이고 진딧물과 응애 등 해충에 대해서도 다소 약한 경향이다.

  • The morphological development of lingual papillae in fetuses between 60, 90, 120 days gestation and neonates of Korean native goat were investigated by scanning electron microscopy. In 60 day old fetuses, the primordia of lingual papillae were observed on the dorsal surface epithelium and those of papillae were primordial fungiform, vallate and conical papillae. The many of microridges and microplicae were observed on the surface of those epithelial cells. In 90 day old fetuses, the rudiment of lentiform and filiform papillae were appeared. There were microplicaes on the surface of the conical papillae epithelium. In the 120 day old fetuses, the lingual papillaes were well developed. The taste bud were opened on the top of vallate papillae that were compactly many of short microvilli. Moreover, secondary papillae partially were observed on top of vallate papillae. In neonate, the fungiform, vallate and lentiform papillae were similar to the adult lingual papillae, but filiform and conical papillae were different from the mature lingual papillae. The outline of filiform papillae were irregularly in indented, but those of conical papillae were regularly. The diameters of filiform, fungiform, conical, vallate and lentiform papillae were about 80~100, 190~250, 230~470, 360~670 and $730{\sim}1,140{\mu}m$, respectively. The height of filiform and conical papillae were about $130{\sim}140{\mu}m$ and $145{\sim}250{\mu}m$.

한국산 미끈망둑 Luciogobius guffafus(농어목) 5개 부속지의 표피구조 및 점액세포 (Mucous Cells and Their Structure on the Epidermis of Five Appendages in the Korean Flat- headed Goby, Luciogobius guttatus (Pisces; Perciformes))

  • 조간대와 강하구에 출현하는 미끈망둑 Luciogobius guttatus은 썰물 동안에 건조하기 쉬운 자갈 바닥 아래에서 서식하는 특징을 보인다. 이러한 서식처를 선호하는 미끈망둑의 호흡체계를 조사하기 위해 지느러미 및 흡반을 포함하는 5개의 부속지의 표피구조를 관찰하였다. 표피는 모두 맨바깥층(outermost layer), 중간층(middle layer), 기저층(stratum germinativum)으로 구성된다. 맨바깥층은 다형세포 또는 편평세포, 그리고 점액세포로 구성되었으며, 특히 단일세포성의 점액세포는 $11.1{\sim}16.1{\mu}m$의 크기로 1~2층으로 배열되어 있으며, 산성다당류로 확인되었다. 중간층은 이웃한 표피세포로 팽대해진 팽대세포 (swollen cell)로 구성되어 있으며, $12.3{\sim}15.2{\mu}m$의 크기로 1~11층으로 배열되어 마치 거미망구조를 보인다. 이러한 팽대세포로 인해 상피 두께의 대부분을 차지한다. 많은 모세혈관이 기저막 아래에 분포하고 있으며, 미뢰 (taste bud)가 표피에 존재한다. 이러한 표피의 특징은 미끈망둑이 이중호흡체계인 피부호흡 (cutaneous respiration)과 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 생각된다.

맛과 향이 좋은 촉성재배용 딸기 '대왕' 품종의 육성 (Breeding of 'Daewang' Strawberry for Forcing Culture with Good Taste and Fragrance)

  • '대왕' 품종은 농촌진흥청 국립원예특작과학원에서 2010년도 육성한 촉성재배용 신품종이다. 맛과 향이 우수하면서 경도가 강한 품종을 육성하기 위해 2006년 고당도 품종인 '매향'과 고당도 품종인 '원교3111호'를 교잡하여 육성하였다. '대왕' 품종의 주요 특성을 보면 초형이 직립형이고 초세는 매우 강하다. 화방당 꽃 수는 12-15개 정도로 적고 휴면타파를 위한 저온요구시간은 50-100시간 정도로 촉성재배용으로 적합한 품종이다. 과형은 원추형이고 과색은 연적색이며 평균과중은 16-17g 내외의 중대과형 품종이다. 과실의 당도는 $11.1^{\circ}Brix$, 산도는 0.39%로 당산비가 적절하여 식미가 좋으며 특히 과육 내 육질이 치밀하여 씹는 맛이 우수하다. 또한 경도가 $18.2g{\cdot}mm^{-2}$로 아키히메의 $10.3g{\cdot}mm^{-2}$ 보다 $7.9g{\cdot}mm^{-2}$이 더 높아 봄철 늦게까지 수확이 가능하다. 그리고 상품과율은 대조품종인 '아키히메'보다 높았으나 전체적인 수량은 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 그러나 탄저병과 고온에 다소 약한 경향이 있다.
