Diagnostic efficacy of a modified low-dose acquisition protocol for the preoperative evaluation of mini-implant sites

  • Purpose: The objective of this study was to compare the outcomes of surgical mini-implant placement when potential mini-implant sites were scanned using a lower-dose $180^{\circ}$ acquisition protocol versus a conventional $360^{\circ}$ acquisition protocol. Materials and Methods: Ten dentate human skulls were used to provide sites for potential mini-implant placement. The sites were randomly divided into 2 groups: $360^{\circ}$ and $180^{\circ}$ cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) acquisition protocols. A small-volume $180^{\circ}$ CBCT scan and a $360^{\circ}$ CBCT scan of each site were acquired using a Morita Accuitomo-170 CBCT machine and then a mini-implant was placed. A follow-up $360^{\circ}$ CBCT scan was done as a gold standard to evaluate the location of the mini-implant and root perforation. Two raters evaluated the scans. Results: Ninety-eight percent of the mini-implants placed did not perforate any root structure. Two percent of the sites had an appearance suggestive of perforation. On a Likert scale, both raters agreed that their subjective evaluation of the diagnostic quality of the protocols, ability to make and read measurements of the sites, and preferences for the specified diagnostic task were comparable. The Cohen kappa showed high inter-rater and intrarater agreement. Conclusion: In this ex vivo study, we found that the $180^{\circ}$ rotational acquisition was as effective as the conventional $360^{\circ}$ rotational acquisition for the preoperative evaluation of potential mini-implant sites.

재해구호 자원봉사활동의 지속성에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing the Continuity of Volunteer Activities for Disaster Relief)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 재해구호 자원봉사자의 활동 특성과 이에 영향을 미치는 요인을 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 지속적인 재해구호 자원봉사활동을 위한 효과적인 관리방안을 모색하는데 있다. 연구대상은 2002년 이후 최소 1회 이상 재해구호 자원봉사활동에 참여한 만 20세 이상의 자원봉사자이다. 2008년 5월 7일부터 5월 27일까지 전국재해구호협회와 자원봉사센터 등 총 4개의 기관에서 활동한 자원봉사자로부터 회수된 총 261부의 설문지를 분석에 사용하였다. 연구결과 재해구호 자원봉사활동의 지속성은 연령이 많을수록, 직업이 있는 사람일수록, 참여적극성이 높을수록, 배치 및 업무부여가 잘 될수록 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 기관에서는 시시각각 변하는 재해현장의 특성 상 배치 및 업무부여가 매우 중요하므로 개인의 특성과 욕구에 맞는 활동이 가능할 수 있도록 다양한 자원봉사 프로그램을 개발해야 하고 봉사자들이 수행한 업무를 긍정적으로 인식할 수 있도록 도와야 한다. 또한 자원봉사자 배치 시 연령, 직업과 같은 개인적 특성을 충분히 고려하여 배치하여야 하며, 봉사자들이 봉사활동에 적극적으로 몰입할 수 있도록 역할을 부여해 주어야 한다. 뿐만 아니라 직업을 가진 사람들이 지속적으로 자원봉사 활동에 참여할 수 있도록 재해구호 자원봉사활동에 대한 사회적 관심과 다양한 제도적인 지원이 필요하다.

  • 공공기관의 특성을 반영한 기록물관리의 체계를 구축하고, 기록물관리기관의 전문성 독립성을 강화하기 위해서는 기록물관리기관에 전문인력의 확충이 시급하다는 요구는 지속적으로 제기되어 왔다. 그러나 "공공기록물법"이 제시하고 있는 현행 기록물관리 전문 인력 배치기준은 명확하지 않아 기록물관리 업무에 필요한 인력을 확보하는데 어려움을 겪어왔다. 이에 본 연구는 첫째, 기록물관리기관의 업무 모델을 개발하고, 둘째, 개발된 업무 모델에 따라 기록물관리 업무량을 산출하고 해당 업무량을 처리하는데 소요되는 적정 인력을 산정하였다. 셋째, 이러한 결과를 종합하여 새로운 기록물관리 전문 인력의 배치기준을 제시하였다.

A Novel Method for Virtual Machine Placement Based on Euclidean Distance

  • With the increasing popularization of cloud computing, how to reduce physical energy consumption and increase resource utilization while maintaining system performance has become a research hotspot of virtual machine deployment in cloud platform. Although some related researches have been reported to solve this problem, most of them used the traditional heuristic algorithm based on greedy algorithm and only considered effect of single-dimensional resource (CPU or Memory) on energy consumption. With considerations to multi-dimensional resource utilization, this paper analyzed impact of multi-dimensional resources on energy consumption of cloud computation. A multi-dimensional resource constraint that could maintain normal system operation was proposed. Later, a novel virtual machine deployment method (NVMDM) based on improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO) and Euclidean distance was put forward. It deals with problems like how to generate the initial particle swarm through the improved first-fit algorithm based on resource constraint (IFFABRC), how to define measure standard of credibility of individual and global optimal solutions of particles by combining with Bayesian transform, and how to define fitness function of particle swarm according to the multi-dimensional resource constraint relationship. The proposed NVMDM was proved superior to existing heuristic algorithm in developing performances of physical machines. It could improve utilization of CPU, memory, disk and bandwidth effectively and control task execution time of users within the range of resource constraint.

지속가능발전과 지속가능발전교육에 대한 초등 예비 교사들의 인식 (Elementary School Student Teachers' Perceptions of Sustainable Development and Education for Sustainable Development)

  • The role of teachers has been explicitly emphasized to implement the vision of sustainable development(SD). Also, it is very important to understand the way student teachers understand SD and how they interpret their own professional task in terms of SD, usually referred to as education for sustainable development(ESD). This study investigated student teachers' perceptions of SD and ESD using group interview. Key findings include, first, that they think SD as development which does not exceed the limits of natural environment, and as wise management of resources/protection of environment for future generations. They also think SD as good thing though they don't understand the contested nature of SD. Second they think ESD as education about SD, but some student teachers say they can't explain ESD. Many student teachers prefer field trip to local examples for both elementary school students and themselves. Also they will teach only what the textbook says about SD and ESD during their school placement and as teachers. So it will be the beginning of ESD in school to include SD in the curriculum for students and student teachers. It is suggested to study student teachers' perception of SD focussing on how they think the relationship between protection of environment and economic growth.

Modified Deep Reinforcement Learning Agent for Dynamic Resource Placement in IoT Network Slicing

  • Network slicing is a promising paradigm and significant evolution for adjusting the heterogeneous services based on different requirements by placing dynamic virtual network functions (VNF) forwarding graph (VNFFG) and orchestrating service function chaining (SFC) based on criticalities of Quality of Service (QoS) classes. In system architecture, software-defined networks (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV), and edge computing are used to provide resourceful data view, configurable virtual resources, and control interfaces for developing the modified deep reinforcement learning agent (MDRL-A). In this paper, task requests, tolerable delays, and required resources are differentiated for input state observations to identify the non-critical/critical classes, since each user equipment can execute different QoS application services. We design intelligent slicing for handing the cross-domain resource with MDRL-A in solving network problems and eliminating resource usage. The agent interacts with controllers and orchestrators to manage the flow rule installation and physical resource allocation in NFV infrastructure (NFVI) with the proposed formulation of completion time and criticality criteria. Simulation is conducted in SDN/NFV environment and capturing the QoS performances between conventional and MDRL-A approaches.

  • Patients with advanced malignant tumors, including both jaws, is a challenging task for a head and neck surgeon. Current treatment landscape demonstrates good functional, anatomical, and aesthetic results in patients who could previously receive only palliative care. The extensive tissue defects resulting from oncological resections in the head and neck region require immediate reconstruction due to the exposure of vital structures and their contact with the external environment. A patient was operated using a three-team multidisciplinary approach involving simultaneous work of three specialized teams of maxillofacial and reconstructive microsurgeons, as well as an implantologist and a prosthodontist. This approach allowed simultaneous tumor resection with subsequent reconstruction of the intraoperative defect involving bilateral harvesting of two revascularized free fibular osteomusculocutaneous flaps with dental implantation and simultaneous rehabilitation of dentition with crowns.

한국 사회사업교과과정 개발을 위한 연구 (A STUDY FOR THE CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL WORK IN KOREA)

  • During last five years several workshops and seminars among social work educators, in and out country, has taken place. In those gatherings there has been, criticism on American model on which curriculum of social work in Korea has mainly based, and many proposals which most developing countries should consider and adopt for developing their own curriculums. The proposals could be summarized as follows; 1. Specification of developmental functions of social work should be made so that the curriculum could involve. It also must come from own societal needs and own national development task. 2. Social work should participate and make contribution to plan and solve the main social problems in own countries. 3. Clarification of educational objective in undergraduate level should be made and one of them must be related to the first professional degree. 4. There should be the courses which provide the content of macro level participation. How much of the proposals are reflected in the current curriculum of Korea? What are the problems Korean social work education has been faced in connection with reflecting the proposals? What kinds of task we should or could perform in order to adopt the proposals? These are the questions which deserved to be studied. The followings are the answers to the questions; 1. The new courses such as social welfare policy and planning, Social Development, Population Dynamics and Family Planning, Social problems, Special Issues in Social Welfare, etc, are placed in the curriculum. 2. Though the new courses are added the courses of case work, group work, and community organization are strongly remained it means that integrative method is not quite adopted and that conflicts are taking place between new and old fashion. 3. Fieldwork placement policy has been changes from concurrent to block and from social work method oriented to social problem oriented. 4. There are lack of integration among the all courses, of consistency between pre and post courses and connection among the related courses. 5. Establishment of image of social worker with B, A. degree should be urgently taken place. It can't be done by social work field alone but by cooperation with all the forces related to the social work practice. 6. B. A. graduate should have a common base of knowledge and competence. It could be come from the clear and specified objectives of undergraduate level education. And agreement among the member schools on the objectives can call on the fundamental similarities in each curriculums. Different programs from one school to another can be tolerated as long as there are fundamental similarities among the schools. Basic concepts and framework of social work should be kept clearly. It is a slow and long process to make social work recognized as a profession in the developing countries. Korea can't be and exception. Failure of having social work be indegenous can't be the reason to refuse an change the basic concepts of social work. One of he most important task which social work education in Korea must achieve in the near future is to establish the minimum requirement courses in the curriculum. Social work field, on the other hand, must find the positions for the social works in the various settings and institute. Clear role and image of social worker can be obtained by doing that.

클러스터 기반 컨테이너 환경에서 실시간 GPU 작업 모니터링 및 컨테이너 배치를 위한 노드 리스트 관리기법 (Real-Time GPU Task Monitoring and Node List Management Techniques for Container Deployment in a Cluster-Based Container Environment)

  • 최근 인터넷 기반 서비스는 데이터의 개인화 및 맞춤화로 인해 사용자의 상황이나 요구사항에 따라 즉시 처리해야 하는 실시간 AI 추론 및 데이터 분석과 같은 실시간 처리에 대한 요구사항이 증가하고 있다. 실시간 작업은 각 작업이 시작되고 결과를 반환하기까지의 데드라인이 정해져 있으며, 데드라인의 보장은 서비스의 품질과 직접적으로 연결된다. 하지만, 기존 컨테이너 시스템에서는 컨테이너에서 실행되는 작업의 데드라인을 할당하고 관리하기 위한 기능이 제공되지 않기 때문에 실시간 작업을 운용하는데 제한적이다. 또한, AI 추론 및 데이터 분석과 같은 작업은 GPU(Graphic Processing Unit)를 기본적으로 사용하는데, 일반적으로 GPU 자원은 컨테이너 사이에 성능 격리가 제공되지 않기 때문에 서로 성능 영향을 미치며, 노드의 자원 사용량만으로는 각 컨테이너의 데드라인 보장률이나 새로운 실시간 컨테이너의 배치 여부를 결정할 수 없다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 컨테이너에서 실행되는 GPU 작업의 실시간 처리를 지원하기 위해 컨테이너의 데드라인 및 실시간 GPU 작업의 실행 상태를 추적하고 관리하기 위한 모니터링 기법과 클러스터 환경에서 실시간 GPU 작업을 실행하는 컨테이너가 데드라인을 보장할 수 있도록 적절한 노드에 배치하기 위한 노드 리스트 관리기법을 제안한다. 또한, 실험을 통해 제안하는 기법이 시스템에 매우 작은 영향을 미친다는 것을 증명한다.

병원 재직자들의 직무배치와 개인성과간의 관계에서 자기효능감의 매개효과 검증 (The Mediating Effect of Self-Efficicy in the Relationship between Hospital Employee's Job Placement and Individual Performance)

  • 의료기관에서는 경영성과를 높이기 위해 우수한 직원을 선발하는 일에 큰 관심을 두고 있다. 채용된 직원은 직무배치를 통해 주어진 업무를 수행하게 되는데 기존연구에서는 직무환경이 개인의 직무능력 지각과 개인성과에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 연구가 미비한 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 병원에 근무하는 보건계열 재직자들을 대상으로 134부의 설문을 수집하여 이들의 직무배치에 따른 개인-직무적합성과 자기효능감, 개인성과간에 어떠한 관계가 있는지 실증적으로 분석해보고자 하였다. 구체적으로 개인-직무적합성과 개인성과 간의 관계에 있어 자기효능감의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 가설검정결과 첫째, 개인-직무적합성은 자기효능감의 하위요인인 자기조절감, 자신감, 과업도전감 모두에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고 둘째, 자기효능감 중 자기조절감, 자신감은 개인성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 개인-직무적합성은 자기조절감을 완전 매개하여 개인성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고 자신감을 부분 매개하여 개인성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 자기효능감 연구를 환경요인으로 확장한 이론적 시사점을 지니며 병원조직의 인적자원관리 측면에서 실무적 시사점 및 연구의 한계를 논의하였다.
