A fossil power plant can be modeled by a lot of algebraic equations and differential equations. When we simulate a large, complicated fossil power plant by a computer such as workstation or PC, it takes much time until overall equations are completely calculated. Therefore, new processing systems which have high computing speed is ultimately needed for real-time or high-speed(faster than real-time) simulators. This paper presents an enhanced strategy in which high computing power can be provided by parallel processing of DSP processors with communication links. DSP system is designed for general purpose. Parallel DSP system can be easily expanded by just connecting new DSP modules to the system. General urpose DSP modules and a VME interface module was developed. New model and techniques for the task allocation are also presented which take into account the special characteristics of parallel I/O and computation. As a realistic cost function of task allocation, we suggested 'simulation period' which represents the period of simulation output intervals. Based on the development of parallel DSP system and realistic task allocation techniques, we cound achieve good efficiency of parallel processing and faster simulation speed than real-time.
Web consists of the grand virtual system which is made of all connected computers network. We can solve the huge problem which requires high quality in cost performance and powerful computing power to use a numerous idle state system on internet as process it parallel. However, we have to consider heterogeneous computing resources, accessibility, and reliability to carry out parallel system on global environment, not network but whole Internet. In this paper, We the WebImg system which has the power of web computing, and show the flexible task allocation strategy in heterogeneous hosts. Also, we evaluate its performance, moreover the proposed task allocation strategy supplies fault tolerance by controlling host situation at any time.

In order to operate multiple UAVs for multiple tasks efficiently, we need a task allocation algorithm with minimum cost, i.e.,total moving distance required to accomplish the whole mission. In this paper, we have proposed the MCBAA (Modified Consensus Based Auction Algorithm) which can be suitably applied to the operation of multiple UAVs. The key idea of proposed algorithm is to minimize sum of distance from current location of agents to location of tasks based on the conventional CBAA. Several simulation test performed on three UAV agents with multiple tasks demonstrates the overall efficiency both in time and total distance.

This paper presents a coordination method to allocate and schedule tasks for multiagent systems of which agents have fuzzy processing time for their operations earlier on and their processing times are determined at the time the task operations are carried out later on. The proposed method is organized in a two-level genetic algorithm in which the upper level genetic algorithm plays the role of finding efficient task allocation and the lower level genetic algorithm takes charge of searching for efficient schedules corresponding to the task allocation proposed by the upper level genetic algorithm. It presents a strategy to deal with agent failures in the considered multiagent system. It also shows some experiment results for the proposed method.
Several task clustering heuristics are proposed for allocating tasks in heterogeneous systems to achieve a good response time in data intensive jobs. However, one of the challenging problems is the process in task scheduling after task allocation by task clustering. We propose a task scheduling method after task clustering, leveraging worst schedule length (WSL) as an upper bound of the schedule length. In our proposed method, a task in a WSL sequence is scheduled preferentially to make the WSL smaller. Experimental results by simulation show that the response time is improved in several task clustering heuristics. In particular, our proposed scheduling method with the task clustering outperforms conventional list-based task scheduling methods.

This paper addresses the problem of resource allocation in amplify-and-forward (AF) relayed OFDM based cognitive radio networks (CRNs). The purpose of resource allocation is to maximize the overall throughput, while satisfying the constraints on the individual power and the interference induced to the primary users (PUs). Additionally, different from the conventional resource allocation problem, the rate-guarantee constraints of the subcarriers are considered. We formulate the problem as a mixed integer programming task and adopt the dual decomposition technique to obtain an asymptotically optimal power allocation, subcarrier pairing and relay selection. Moreover, we further design a suboptimal algorithm that sacrifices little on performance but could significantly reduce computational complexity. Numerical simulation results confirm the optimality of the proposed algorithms and demonstrate the impact of the different constraints.
In this paper, we propose the dynamic allocation scheme of the CPU bandwidth to efficiently integrate and schedule these tasks in the same system, where multimedia tasks and hard real-time tasks can coexist simultaneously. Hard real-time tasks are guaranteed based on worst case execution times, whereas multimedia tasks modeled as soft real-time tasks are served based on mean parameters. This paper describes a server-based allocation scheme for assigning the CPU resource to two types of tasks. Especially for MPEG video streams, we show how to dynamically control the fraction of the CPU bandwidth allocated to each multimedia task. The primary purpose of the proposed method is to minimize the mean tardiness of multimedia tasks while satisfying the timing constraints of hard real-time tasks present in the system. We showed through simulations that the tardiness experienced by multimedia tasks under the proposed allocation scheme is much smaller than that experienced by using other scheme.
In many applications of wireless sensor actor networks (WSANs) that often run in harsh environments, the reduction of completion times of tasks is highly desired. We present a new time-aware, energy-aware, and starvation-free algorithm called Scate for assigning tasks to actors while satisfying the scalability and distribution requirements of WSANs with semi-automated architecture. The proposed algorithm allows concurrent executions of any mix of small and large tasks and yet prevents probable starvation of tasks. To achieve this, it estimates the completion times of tasks on each available actor and then takes the remaining energies and the current workloads of these actors into account during task assignment to actors. The results of our experiments with a prototyped implementation of Scate show longer network lifetime, shorter makespan of resulting schedules, and more balanced loads on actors compared to when one of the three well-known task-scheduling algorithms, namely, the max-min, min-min, and opportunistic load balancing algorithms, is used.

In an environment that operates multiple UAVs, the use of a decentralized task allocation algorithm has more robustness from a single failure of UAV on the mission because there is no central command center. In addition, UAVs have situational awareness and redistribute tasks among themselves, which can expand the mission range. The use of multiple UAVs in a mission has increased as the agent hardware has decreased in size and cost. The decentralized mission-planning algorithm has the advantages of a larger mission range and robustness to a single failure during the mission. This paper extended the type of mission the uses CBBA, which is the most well-known decentralized task allocation algorithm, to the point mission and en-route mission. This will describe the real mission situation that has the purpose of surveillance. A Monte-Carlo simulation was conducted in the case of multiple agents in the task-rich environment, and the global rewards of each case were compared.

In a cloud computing paradigm, allocation of various virtualized ICT resources is a complex problem due to the presence of heterogeneous application (MapReduce, content delivery and networks web applications) workloads having contentious allocation requirements in terms of ICT resource capacities (resource utilization, execution time, response time, etc.). This task of resource allocation becomes more challenging due to finite available resources and increasing consumer demands. Therefore, many unique models and techniques have been proposed to allocate resources efficiently. However, there is no published research available in this domain that clearly address this research problem and provides research taxonomy for classification of resource allocation techniques including strategic, target resources, optimization, scheduling and power. Hence, the main aim of this paper is to identify open challenges faced by the cloud service provider related to allocation of resource such as servers, storage and networks in cloud computing. More than 70 articles, between year 2007 and 2020, related to resource allocation in cloud computing have been shortlisted through a structured mechanism and are reviewed under clearly defined objectives. Lastly, the evolution of research in resource allocation techniques has also been discussed along with salient future directions in this area.
