소형 모형선을 이용한 실선마력추정에 대한 연구 (A Fundamental Study on the Power Prediction Method of Ship by using the Experiment of Small Model)

  • In this study, the self-propulsion tests are performed in INHA towing tank. And the effective wake characteristics of the KVLCC2 and the KCS models are compared by the experimental results. The form factor is independent of Reynolds number. To estimate the hydrodynamic performance of a full scale ship, the form factor is determined to consider attendant on Reynolds number. In this research, the power predictions are carried out considering the form factor difference of model and full scale ship. The results of this research could be used as one of the fundamental data to the powering performance prediction.

쇄석말뚝의 지지력 특성에 관한 모형시험 연구 (A Model Test Study on the Bearing Capacity of the Crushed Stone Pile)

  • Crushed Stone Pile(CSP) is one of the ground improvement methods available to loose sand and clayey ground by forming compacted CSP in the weak soil layer. The effects of this method are enhancement of ground bearing capacity, reduction of settlement and prevention of lateral ground movement in cohesive layer, reduction of liquefaction potential in sandy ground. This study performs model tests in 1.0m${\times}$1.0m${\times}$1.0m and 1.5m${\times}$1.5m${\times}$l.2m model tank to observe bearing capacity of CSP treated ground. The area replacement ratio of CSP composite ground varies 20%, 30% and 40% with square grid pattern. After the composite ground was consolidated under pressure of 0.5kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and 1.0kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$, load tests were carried out. The results show that ultimate bearing capacity increases with area replacement ratio and the preconsolidation pressure of ground.

  • The safety and stability of 5MW class offshore wind turbine Jack-up platform was investigated through ocean basin experiment. For simulating the environmental condition of yellow sea in the South Korea, diverse waves, winds and currents were performed based on Froude's number. Regular wave and irregular wave based on Froude's number were applied to the wind turbine structure. In experiments, the height and period of regular wave type were scaled down as the 1:50 ratio of real wave condition. Irregular wave type was simulated with TMA(Texel Storm, Marsen and Arsloe)spectrum. The vertical reaction force, resonance period and wave pressure applied to multi-supporters of wind offshore structure were measured experimentally. Finally, the results showed that the capsizing situation of the offshore structure was generated by the severe environmental condition.

  • This study refers to the development of a hydrologic model simulating daily inflow and release rates for irrigation reservoirs. A daily - based model is needed for adequate operation of an irrigation reservoir sufficing the water demand for paddy fields which is closely related to meteorological conditions. Inflow rates to a reservoir need to be accurately described, which may be simulated using a hydrologic model from daily rainfall data. And the objective of this paper is to develop, test, and apply a hydrologic model for daily runoff simmulation. A well - known tank model was selected and modified to simulate daily inflow rates. The model parameters were calibrated using observed runoff data from twelve watersheds, Relationships between the parameters and the watershed characteristics were derived by a multiple regression analysis. The simulation results were in agreement with the data. The inflow model was found to simulate low flow conditions more accurately than high flow conditions, which may be adequate for water resources utilization.

모래로 축조된 댐 모형의 침투에 관한 연구(I) (A Study of the Seepage through Sand-Constructed Model Dams.)

  • The aim of this thesis, when water permeates dam, is to study the shape of seepage line and seepage quantity. As for the process, various sand model dams of same capacity were constructed in the water tank : they are a central, middle, inclined, up and down stream point of which is paralled, and filter-installed types. And the slope of seepage line and seepage quantity in these various models for experiment were measured, observed data were analyzed, and several formulas which already published were compared and examined. As for the shape of seepage line, the relation between upstream water level and exit: slope of seepage line, near the entrance and exit point, geometrically similar model, and the shape of seepage line filter-installed were examined. As regards to the seepage quantity, several formulas which already published and testing result values were compared and examined, and relation with the slope of seepage line, the seepage quantity, the slope of upstream point, and the upstream water level were mutually studied. Particulary, when horizontal filter was installed, propriety of the existing formulas for effective filter length w as examined, and the relative position of exit point in various. conditions was also studied.

Circular Motion Test를 이용한 선박의 조종성능 추정에 관한 연구 (Prediction of Ship Maneuverability by Circular Motion Test)

  • Recently, ship maneuverability has been very important issue due to accidents of frequent occurrence at sea. IMO standards for ship maneuverability were applied from January 1, 2004. In this study, maneuverability model tests were considered through a 2m-class KVLCC1 in the Ocean Engineering Wide Tank at University of Ulsan(UOU). Circular Motion Test(CMT) was performed to obtain the maneuvering coefficients by using X-Y Carriage. The trajectories simulated using the coefficients are compared with those of PMM test and free running test.

  • In this paper, heaving phenomenon is analyzed by laboratory tests. A laboratory test is consist of building soft clay foundation in plane-strain soil tank, construction of retaining wall, and excavation work. And range of shear strain, and destruction shape about soft clay foundation is compared, and analyzed with results of proposal formula. Using this study, safety factor is suggested for heaving phenomenon in the construction of wall on the soft clay. Actual theory is suggested by this suggested safety factor. There are various proposal formula for heaving phenomenon. For example, Terzaghi & Peck, Tschebotarioff, Bjerrum & Eide(Experience formula) and so on. Terzaghi & Peck's proposal formula is chosen, compared with laboratory test's result and analyzed in this study. A soft clay used in study is assumed homogeneous. A Depth of foundation is enough to observe shear strain by heaving phenomenon. Retaining wall is enough hard not to have vertical displacement.

  • In this study, a circular and indoor soil tank foundation was manufactured to study the improvement according to the degree of turbulence arising from PBD penetration, using the existing plate-type shoe and improved V-type shoe to change the degree of turbulence. Furthermore, to study the foundation improvement effect, the strength, settlement speed in the turbulence area were compared according to the shoe penetration. The results of the study showed that the V-type shoe reduced the strength coefficient decrease effect, and the foundation improvement effect according to the degree of turbulence was identified.

하나 또는 두개의 지주를 갖는 소수선면 쌍동선의 유체동역학적 특성 비교 (A Comparison of Hydrodynamic Characteristics of Single and Tandem Strut SWATH Ships)

  • 하나 또는 두개의 지주를 가지는 소수선면 쌍동선의 유체동역학적 특성에 대한 비교 연구결과를 다루었다. 두 모형선으로 정수중에서의 저항, 파랑중에서 정지 및 속도를 가질 때의 6자유도 운동응답, 그리고 파랑하중 등을 수조 실험실에서 측정하였으며 수치해석결과들과 자세하게 비교하였다. 본 연구 결과에 의거하여 두 SWATH 모델들의 장단점을 열거하였으며 이는 SWATH선의 설계 고려에 유익하게 쓰여질 수 있다고 생각된다.

  • It is important to understand the flow characteristics such as wave and wake development around a ship for the design of the hull forms with better resistance and propulsive performance. The experimental results explicating the local flow characteristics are also invaluable for validation of the physical and numerical modeling of CFD codes, which are recently gaining acknowledgements as efficient tools for hull form evaluation This paper describes velocity and wave profiles measured in the towing tank for the KRISO 138K LNG Carrier (KLNG) model with propeller and rudder. The results contained in this paper can provide the valuable information on the effect of propeller and rudder on stern flow characteristics of the modern commercial hull form, furthermore, the present experimental data will provide important database for CFO validation.
