웹-기반 Tangible Space (Webized Tangible Space)

  • 사물인터넷 기반의 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅, AR/ VR등 실감 컴퓨팅과 실제 물리 공간의 이음새 없는 하나의 인터랙션 공간을 Tangible Space라고 명하고자 한다. 이 공간에서는 물리 공간에 가상의 물체나 객체가 증강되고 몰입형 가상공간에 물리공간이 투영되고 증강된 형태로 인터랙션의 확장이 가능하다. 인터넷과 웹이 컴퓨팅 환경을 하나의 공유 인터랙션 공간으로 이어주면서 물리공간에서의 우리 삶 자체가 로깅되고 공유되는 시대에 살고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 새로운 인터랙션 공간을 기존 웹의 표현 기법과 응용 소프트웨어 개발 환경을 그대로 활용할 수 있는 Tangible Space의 웨바아징 방법론을 제안하고 개발 구현 사례를 소개하겠다. 앞으로 정보 중심의 웹에서 우리 경험을 지속적이고 연속적으로 담고 공유하는 웹으로 발전할 것으로 기대한다.

손가락 고정구를 이용한 휴대용 전자제품의 증강현실기반 감각형 상호작용 (AR-based Tangible Interaction Using a Finger Fixture for Digital Handheld Products)

  • In this paper, we propose an AR-based tangible interaction using a finger fixture for virtual evaluation of digital handheld products. To realize tangible interaction between a user and a product in a computer-vision based AR environment, we uses two types of tangible objects: a product-type object and a finger fixture. The product-type object is used to acquire the position and orientation of the product, and the finger fixture is used to recognize the position of a finger tip. The two objects are fabricated by RP technology and AR markers are attached to them. The finger fixture is designed to satisfy various requirements with an ultimate goal that the user holding the finger fixture in his or her index finger can create HMI events by touching specified regions (buttons or sliders) of the product-type object with the finger tip. By assessing the accuracy of the proposed interaction, we have found that it can be applied to a wide variety of digital handheld products whose button size is not less than 6 mm. After performing the design evaluation of several handheld products using the proposed AR-based tangible interaction, we received highly encouraging feedback from users since the proposed interaction is intuitive and tangible enough to provide a feeling like manipulating products with human hands.

Tangible Interaction을 활용한 가상현실 콘텐츠 디자인에 관한 연구 (VR Contents Design using Tangible Interaction)

  • 본 연구에서는 비교적 간단한 구현 기술과 저가의 플랫폼으로 가상현실 체험을 해볼 수 있는 콘텐츠를 개발하고자 효과적인 가상현실 경험의 구현 요소를 연구하였으며, 그 요소는 현실감과 몰입감, 환상감의 구현 및 Tangible interaction의 사용으로 요약되었다. 이러한 요소들을 적용하여 경험 디자인 컨셉을 도출하고 상대적 현실감이 높은 실사 비디오 영상의 대화면 프로젝션(projection)과 비전 트레킹(Vision Tracking) 기술을 활용한 플랫폼을 디자인하였으며, Tangible device의 자연스러운 인터렉션을 적용한 가상현실 콘텐츠를 디자인하였다. 디자인 결과물은 전시의 형태로 제시하여 일반 사용자들의 체험 기회를 넓히고자 하였으며, Class Xylophone 2003과 VR Class의 두 가지 사례 연구를 통하여 컨텐츠 및 인터렉션 컨셉의 타당성을 검증하였고 다양한 가상현실 콘텐츠와 그 상업적 활용 가능성을 보여줌으로서 가상현실 분야의 저변 확대에 기여하고자 하였다.

  • 탠저블 가상 문화유산 환경은 탠저블 인터페이스를 사용하여 사용자간의 상호작용을 높이고 적극적인 참여를 유도하여 문화유산의 이해를 증진시키는 가상환경이다. 본 연구에서는 가상환경에서 탠저블 블록과 네이게이션 인터페이스를 사용한 축성 쌓기 놀이를 통하여 다수의 사용자들이 적극적으로 고창 문화유적지인 모양성의 문화적 이해와 협동을 배울 수 있도록 한 탠저블 모양성 시스템을 논한다. 본 논문에서 먼저 관련 연구를 살펴보고, 모양성의 역사적, 문화적 배경과 탠저블 모양성 시스템 디자인과 구현을 설명한다. 또한 사용자 관찰을 통하여 나타난 개선점과 향후 연구 방향에 대해 논한다.

강원도 영동권 지역 생선회 전문점의 유형적 근거가 고객의 감정반응과 재구매 행동에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Tangible Clues of Raw-fish Restaurants on Consumers' Emotional Responses & Repurchasing Behavior in East-northern Area of Kangwon-Province)

  • The purpose of this article was to study the influence of tangible clues of raw-fish restaurants on consumers' emotional responses and repurchasing behavior in eastern area of Kangwon-province. In this study frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis and path analysis(SEM) were applied to analyze the data. Through path analysis tangible clues' performances had generally significant influences upon consumers' emotional responses to buy products of raw-fish restaurants. According to the results, exterior facility had positive influence on pleasure(p<0.001) and arousal(p<0.01). Interior facility had positive influence on pleasure(p<0.001) and arousal(p<0.001), but negative on dominance(p<0.01). And the others had positive influence on pleasure(p<0.05). Press copy had positive influence on pleasure(p<0.001) and arousal(p<0.001). And Pleasure and arousal had positive influence on repurchasing behavior(p<0.001). But Dominance didn't have significant influence on repurchasing behavior. As a result, we studied that the tangible clues was an effective marketing tactic to maintain and increase consumers' positive emotional reponses to repurchase at restaurants. Therefore it is finally needed that dining-out corporations manage tangible clues in a customer-maintaining without additional costs, and especially to use mixing tangible clues each other in some suitable condition.

모바일 환경을 위한 큐빅형 텐저블 사용자 인터페이스 개발 (Cubic Tangible User Interface Development for Mobile Environment)

  • Most mobile devices provide limited input interfaces in order to maximize the mobility and the portability. In this paper, the author proposes a small cubic-shaped tangible input interface which tracks the location, the direction, and the velocity using MEMS sensor technology to overcome the physical limitations of the poor input devices in mobile computing environments. As the preliminary phase for implementing the proposed tangible input interface, the prototype design and implementation methods are described in this paper. Various experiments such as menu manipulation, 3-dimensional contents control, and sensor data visualization have been performed in order to verify the validity of the proposed interface. The proposed tangible device enables direct and intuitive manipulation. It is obvious that the mobile computing will be more widespread and various kinds of new contents will emerge in near future. The proposed interface can be successfully employed for the new contents services that cannot be easily implemented because of the limitation of current input devices. It is also obvious that this kind of interface will be a critical component for future mobile communication environments. The proposed tangible interface will be further improved to be applied to various contents manipulation including 2D/3D games.

This hardware includes function of image capture through camera interface, image process and sending off image information by LAN(local area network) or WLAN(wireless local area network). 현대 패션디자인에서의 콜래보레이션 표현성 - 한국적 문화콘텐츠의 응용을 중심으로 - (The Collaboration Expression in the Modern Fashion Design - Focusing on the Collaboration of Korean Cultural Contents -)

  • This study intends to explore the collaborative expression in the modern fashion design by analyzing the collaboration of motifs symbolizing Korean cultural identity. As for the data research, in order to examine the expressional objects of collaboration in the collections of the fashion designers from Korea and overseas who have applied the Korean culture among their collections posted on the Internet sites, www.firstview.com, and www.style.com from 2005 to 2012 were collected for analysis. 923 pictures used in the analysis sheet. As for the research method, the content analysis method was used. In the modern fashion design, the collaborative expression in the motifs symbolizing Korean cultural identity are limited to tangible expression, intangible expression, integrated expression. The results of this study were as follows. First, in the tangible expression, traditional tangible assets are used in the shapes, items, colors, materials, patterns and details to symbolize uniquely Korean image. The intangible expression, the applicability for Korean intangible assets include the master's (intangible cultural assets) and the craftsmanship of the modern designers being collaborated onto the contemporary customs to express the Korean traditional culture in a realistic or an abstract trend. The hybride expression, it is to represent Korean thoughts and values using the tangible elements. Second, The expressivity of collaboration of each year mostly shows integrated expression, intangible expression and tangible expression were shown respectively. The trend of seasonal collaboration expressivity was muchly the integrated expression in most seasons, and intangible expression and tangible expression followed respectively. It is recognizable that the expressivity of collaboration of each designer was; integrated expression was muchly shown in Lie Sang Bong and Lee Young Hee's works, Duri Jung showed much of intangible expression, and much tangible expressivity was shown in Carolina Herrera.

  • Research in Human Computer Interface (HCI) is towards development of an application environment able to deal with interactions of both human and computers that can be more intuitive and efficient. This can be achieved by bridging the gap between the synthetic virtual environment and the natural physical environment. Thus a project called Tangible Space Initiative (TSI) has been launched by KIST. TSI is subdivided into Tangible Interface (TI) which controls 3D cyber space with user's perspective, Responsive Cyber Space (RCS) which creates and controls the virtual environment and Tangible Agent (TA) which senses and acts upon the physical interface environment on behalf of any components of TSI or the user. This paper is a brief introduction to a new generation of Human Computer Interface that bring user to a new era of interaction with computers in the future.
