Objectives This study was to investigate the Sasang Constitutional classification in storke inpatients by using QSCC II and to evaluate the relevance of the results and Donguisusebowon contents. Methods QSCC II was conducted to 73 Stroke patients who were admitted from April 2014 to August 2014 in Dongseo oriental hospital. And the results were analyzed by contents of Donguisusebowon. Results The number of Soyangin and Taeumin was the most common and Soeumin was the lowest. There was no Taeyangin. The number of Soyangin and Taeumin was the most common in cerebral infarction patients, and the number of Soyangin was the most common in intracerebral hemorrhage patients. The patients who had both cerebral infarction and intracerebral hemorrhage were all Taeumin. Conclusions The incidence of stroke was higher in Soyangin and Taeumin. This results were relevant with the Sasang Constitutional Temperament of Donguisusebowon.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to objectify the diagnosis of Sasang constitution. It was analyzed the adult female voices into 44 factors with PSSC-2004. Methods The study was conducted on the subjects inputted /a/ 2.5-3 sec of 217 adult women voices to PSSC-2004. The statistical analyses are applied to three groups: total group, under 55 year-old group, over 55 year-old group. The group of total 216 was composed with 8 Taeyangins, 60 Soyangins, 66 Taeumins and 83 Soeumins. The under 55 year-old group was composed with 6 Taeyangins, 53 Soyangins, 55 Taeumins and 76 Soeumins. The over 55 year-old group was composed with 2 Taeyangins, 7 Soyangins, 11 Taeumins and 7 Soeumins. Results 1. In total group and under 55 year-old one, Soeumin's center pitch were significantly high compared with the others(P=0.005)(P=0.019). It was significant for distinction between Taeumin and Soeumin at the result of post mortem. 2. In over 55 year-old group, Soeumin's center freq.(total) and center freq.(1) were significantly high compared with the others(P=0.024)(P=0.016). In under 55 year-old group, Soeumin's center freq.(4) was significantly high(P=0.025). While Taeumin's center freq.(3) in under 55 year-old group and center freq.(4) in over 55 year-old group were significantly high(P=0.049)(P=0.043). 3. In over 55 year-old group, Soeumin's APQ(center), APQ(2/5), APQ(3/5), APQ(4/5) and APQ(2/3) were significantly high compared with the others. It was significant for distinction between Taeumin and Soeumin at the result of post mortem(P=0.004) (P=0.003) (P=0.004) (P=0.013) (P=0.004). 4. In over 55 year-old group, Soeumin's APQ(1/3), APQ(1/2), APQ(2/2) and zeroover APQ were significantly high compared with the others (P=0.013) (P=0.003) (P=0.008) (P=0.012). 5. In over 55 year-old group, Taeyangin's octave 3 shimmer was significantly high compared with the others(P=0.000). 6. In under 55 year-old group, Taeyangin's total energy was significantly high compared with the others(P=0.040). 7. In under 55 year-old group, Taeyangin's zeroover energy sum was significantly high compared with the others(P=0.038). Conclusions From above result, there is the possibility of efficiency standard guide for constitutional diagnosis by analyzation of the voices.

Sweating is a important concept with Sasang Constitutional Medicine After studying about sweating of four constitutions, I can get a conclusion. It is summarized as follows. 1. In Taeyangin(太陽人) and Taeumin(太陰人) sweating can be explained by symptom of Kiekjiki(氣液之氣), and can be explained by symptom of Suekjiki(水液之氣) in Soeumin(少陰人) and Soyangin(少陽人) 2. Sweating of Soeumin(少陰人) is a expression of strength or weakness of Bijang(脾臟) 3. Sweating of Soyangin(少陽人) is a expression of Kangeum(降陰) and Yangyak(陽弱) 4. 1. Objectives The purpose of this study was to search the descriptions of feces in the text of Lee, Je-Ma for the physiological feces and pathological feces in constitutional medicine. 2. Methods We searched the descriptions of feces mentioned in the text of $\ulcorner$Dongyisusebowonsasangchobongwon$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$Dongyisusebowongabobon$\lrcorner$, and $\ulcorner$Dongyisusebowonsinchukbon$\lrcorner$ and classified the feces into physiological feces and pathological feces by the solidity, color, impurities of feces, and the frequency of defecation. 3. Results For Soyangin and Taeyangin, there are formal descriptions of feces related to the constipation in Dongyisusebowon sasang chobongwon, but for Soeumin and Taeumin, there is not formal description of feces related to the constipation in $\ulcorner$Dongyisusebowonsasangchobongwon$\lrcorner$ and for all 4 Type Constitution, there are various formal descriptions of feces related to the diarrhea in $\ulcorner$Dongyisusebowonsasangchobongwon$\lrcorner$. For all 4 Type Constitution, there are various formal descriptions of feces related to the constipation in $\ulcorner$Dongyisusebowongabobon$\lrcorner$, except Taeumin. and for all 4 Type Constitution, yhere are various formal descriptions of feces related to the diarrhea in $\ulcorner$Dongyisusebowongabobon$\lrcorner$. For Soeumin, especially there are the formal descriptions of color and impurities of feces. For all 4 Type Constitution, there are various formal descriptions of feces related to the constipation and the diarrhea in $\ulcorner$Dongyisusebowonsinchukbon$\lrcorner$. For Soeumin, especially there are formal descriptions of color and impurities of feces. 4. Conclusions The diarrhea in Soeumin is serious illness rather than the constipation, and the constipation in Soyangin is serious illness rather than diarrhea. Especially In Yin Exhausted Syndrome in Soyangin, the diarrhea is the important standard of diagnosis in Soyangin's constitutional symptom. The description of feces in Taeumin is not systematic, compared with Soeumin's and Soyangin's. The description of feces in Taeyangin is not yet scientifically established compared with Soeumin's, Soyangin's, Taeumin's.

1. Objectives and Methods The purpose of this study was to objectify the diagnosis of Sasang constitution. It analyzed the adult male and female voices into 23factors using PSSC-2004. The study was conducted by subjects inputting 2.5-3 sec of [a] in 586 men and women's voices to PSSC-2004. The statistical analyses are applied to three groups: total group, male group, female group. The group with a total of 586 was composed of 155 Soyangin, 230 Taeumin and 201 Soeumin. The male group was composed with 61 Soyangin, 127 Taeumin and 87 Soeumin. The female group was composed with 94 Soyangin, 103 Taeumin and 114 Soeumin. Taeyangin were excluded for a more accurate statistical analysis. 2. Results (I) In total group, Taeumin's peak sum was significantly high compared with the others(P=0.021). It was significant for distinction between Taeumin and Soyangin at the result of post mortem. (2) In total group, the Soyangin's rank6, rank7 and rank8 were significantly high compared with the others (P=0.050)(0.043)(0.034). (3) In total group, the Soyangin's rank9 was significantly high compared with the others(P=0.025). It was significant for distinction between Taeumin and Soyangin at the result of post mortem. (4) In male group, the Soyangin's code3 was significantly high compared with the others(P=0.050). (5) In male group, the Soyangin's code1 was significantly low compared with the others(P=0.004). It was significant for distinction between Taeumin and Soyangin at the result of post mortem. (6) In male group, the Soyangin's rank1, rank2, rank3 and rank4 were significantly high compared with the others(P=0.017)(0.008) (0.005)(0.002). They were significant for distinction between Taeumin and Soyangin at the result of post mortem. (7) In female group, the Taeumin's code1 was significantly low compared with the others(P=0.016). It was significant for distinction between Taeumin and Soeumin at the result of post mortem. 3. Conclusion From above result, there is the possibility of efficiency standard gide for constitutional diagnosis by analyzation of the voices.

1. Objectives It is necessary to find the psychological methods to treat not only physical but also mental problems. Because the Sasang Constitutional medicine is based on Mind-Body Medicine, so that the Nature and Emotion-Happiness, Anger, Sorrow, Pleasantness- have to be controlled properly. 2. Methods We analysed the characters of each constitutions, drama therapy and meditation and tried to find the suitable application of one for Sasangin. 3. Results and Conclusions Soeumin is feminine, easy to worry, pessimistic and non-active so they need to express their problems, be encouraged and participate to be one of a group having relationship with other people. Soyangin is out-going, easy to start, not enough to be aware of themselves so they need to relax, calm and try to have an insight into themselves. Taeumin is stable, easy to keep something so they need to communicate well with the exterior. Taeyangin is going forward, masculine and necessary to avoid being angry so they need to calm down and relax. Drama therapy is group work with actors, staffs and audiences so it is useful to express their negative feelings through motions, dances and sounds unless they talk. So it is supposed to be useful far Soeumin and Taeumin. And we can apply it to heal the Emotion because it is based on the relationship and the contact with other people. Meditation is helpful to not only concentrate, relax, have insight into themselves but also calm down anxiety, depression an anger. So it could be the best psychotherapy for Soyangin and Taeyangin. And we can apply it to reflect oneself alone to express their Nature adequately.

Objectives This research is purposed to find Lee Je-Ma's thought on Inclination of Mind(心慾) and Nature & Emotion(性情), through summarizing sentences related to Inclination of Mind(心慾) and Nature & Emotion(性情) proposed in the chief writings on Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 2. Methods It was researched bibliologically with Lee Je-Ma's chief writings such as "Gyukchigo (Draft on Inquiring the Properties of Things, 格致藁)", "Dongyi Suse Bowon Sasang Chobongyun(東醫壽世保元四象草本卷)" "Dongyi Suse Bowon (Longevity and Life Preservation in Oriental Medicine, 東醫壽世保元)". 3. Results and Conclusions (1) Lee Je-Ma's Mind(心) is the dimension of the Great Absolute(Taegeuk,太極), and is related with Benevolence-Righteousness-Propriety-Wisdom(仁義禮智) (2) Human being is classified Taeyangin(太陽人), Taeumin(太陰人), Soyangin(少陽人), Soeumin(少陰人) by SungLi(性理), and The Mean(鄙人), TheWeek(薄人), The Avaricious(貪人), The Sycophantic(懦人) by JungYok(情慾) in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. (3) Nature & Emotion(性情) of Sorrow-Anger-Joy-Pleasure(喜怒哀樂) is divided into two function. One is native function related with SungLi(性理), the other is acquired function related with JungYok(情慾). Also all two native and acquired function is related with Benevolence-Righteousness-Propriety-Wisdom(仁義禮智). (4) The Mean(鄙人), The Week(薄人), The Avaricious(貪人), The Sycophantic(懦人) may be defined as the state of Inclination of Mind(心慾) of Taeyangin(太陽人), Taeumin(太陰人), Soyangin(少陽人), Soeumin(少陰人) by function of acquired Emotion(情).

Objectives : This study is for discovering the clinical Features of the sleep in ordinary symptoms based on the Sasang Constitution. The result of this study could be helpful to understand and to identify the patients as Soeumin in contrast with the other constitutions-Soyangin, Taeumin and Taeyangin. Methods : There were 1,229 patients(700 female), who answered the questionnaire about their ordinary sleeping patterns. They had been diagnosed, including their clinical Sasang Constitution, by the Sasang Constitution specialist at Bundang Oriental Hospital of Dongguk University. By applying the binary logistic regression analysis, we can measure the characteristics and the influence of ordinary sleeping patterns to the dependent variable(Sasang Constitution). Results : As a result of the binary logistic analysis on the observed questionnaire, we found the characteristics of the ordinary sleeping patterns on Soeumin in contrast the other constitutions. Firstly, Soeumin has a tendency that he wouldn't snore well in comparison with the others. Secondly, Soeumin has a tendency that he will dreams more, when he sleeps in contrast with the others. Thirthly, Soeumin has a tendency that he will sleep longer than 6-7hours. Fourthly, Soeumin has a tendency that he will struggle during sleeping in contrast with the others. Conclustion : This study will be used to identify patients as Soeumin in contrast with the others-Soyangin, Taeumin and Taeyangin.

Sasang Constitutional Medicine is based on the diversity of human being and medically developed the variation of response to diseases and medicines. The diversity is categorized as four groups Taeyangin, Taeumin, Soyangin, Soeumin according to morphology, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology. The phenotypes of Sasang constitutions represent that constitutions may be possessed of the different genetic backgrounds. To clarify the genetic difference among the Sasang constitutions, we performed a genetic analysis with the 3'-UTR polymorphism of ADPRT (rs=8679) as a pooled DNA sequencing method. ADPRT modulates various nuclear proteins by poly(ADP-ribosy)lation and is involved in the regulation of various cellular processes such as differentiation, proliferation, and tumor transformation. This gene is also involved in the recovery of cell from DNA damage and the brain infarction. The allele frequencies of [T/C] polymorphism of ADPRT of Soeumin and Soyangin groups were (T: 0.94/C: 0.06) and that of Taeumin and Taeyangin groups were (T: l.00/C: 0.00). The allele frequency was not showed the difference between constitution groups. This result represented that the [T/C] polymorphism of ADPRT 3' UTR region was not suitable to classify the constitutions. However, this study is the first trial of Sasang classification according to genetic polymorphism and further analysis will be necessarily to classify the genetic difference of Sasang constitution.

Objectives Lee Je-Ma's Sasang-philosophy that was discussed in Donguisusebowon is Maeumron and Qi-philosophy. Sasang-philosophy has a direct origin to Mencius, which discusses the Maeumron of Confucianism. Therefore the relationship between Maeumron of Donguisusebowon and Mencius Chapter 3 will be examined. Methods Materials and references were collected about the literature survey. Lee Je-Ma's books such as Donguisusebowon, Gyeokchigo and a book of Confucianism including the Mencius. Results and Conclusions Hoyeonjiqi in 'Sadanron' of Donguisusebowon encompasses the Qi of metaphysical personality and physiological Qi, and it can be seen that it is the Qi that fuses body and mind together. Benevolence, righteousness, propriety and wisdom are directly linked to the personal mind of Sasangin. Unlike the mencius's four clues of virtue, the Sadan is discussed in terms of the large and small organs in four constitution such sa lungs, spleen, liver, and kidneys. Next, In the relationship between Taesim of 'Whoakchungron' and greed of Mencius, if discuss a relationships between 'I understand language' and Taesim, Deceptive speech connects with the dogmatism of Soeumin, Licentious speech connects with indulgence of Taeumin, Crooked speech connects with laziness of Soyangin and Evasive speech connects with selfishness of Taeyangin. Also in the relationship between taking delight gladness without real cause idleness arrogant and Taesim, taking Delight connects with the dogmatism of Soeumin, Gladness without real cause connects with selfishness of Taeyangin, Idleness connects with laziness of Soyangin, and Arrogant connects with indulgence of Taeumin. The next thing, people of Four types of 'Gwangjeseol' coincide with Mencius. Also Love benevolence and enjoy goodness, Envy benevolence and jealous talent in the 'Gwangjeseol' are able to find the source directly in Mencius.
