A Study on Consumers' Responses to Domestic/ Foreign Brand Women's Apparel (국내 및 해외브랜드 여성 의류제품에 대한 소비자 반응 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare consumers' evaluation, evaluation criteria and preference factors, complaint factors on domestic brand apparel with consumers' responses on foreign brand apparel. 498 subjects were gathered through convenience sampling method and, for data analysis, mean, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test, Factor Analysis were conducted. The results are as follows; 1. Among the purchasing groups of domestic/foreign brand apparel, there were significant differences in apparel evaluation according to fabric, style, sewing, versatility, match, washability and color. 2. Among the purchasing groups of domestic/foreign brand apparel, there were significant differences in apparel evaluation criteria according to price, match, brand name, washability. 3. Purchasers of domestic brand apparel preferred soft and light fabric, fabric of good tactility, simple and sophisticated style whereas purchasers of foreign brand apparel preferred soft and light fabric, fabric of high quality, elegant and sophisticated style. On apparel color preference, there were significant differences among the purchasing groups of domestic/foreign brand apparel. 4. The differences in complaint factors of apparel among the purchasing groups of domestic/foreign brand apparel were due to factors such as high quality and variety of fabrics, colors, items, styles.

A Study Measuring the Subjective Sensation and Objective Physiological Responses of Breast Prostheses (인조유방의 감촉에 대한 주관적 평가와 인체 생리적 반응 연구)

  • This study suggests an alternative breast-prosthesis-making process for female breast cancer patients. From June 2018 to July 2018, we conducted a study using nine females between the ages 40-50 who never had breast cancer. We recorded the reported subjective sensations and objective physiological responses to different types of artificial breast materials: Trulife silicon breast prostheses (TS) and hand-made silk breast prostheses (HS). Considering the materials used in TS and HS individually, we studied the subjective sensation with regards to how each material functioned in a photo (VP), movement (VM) and the visual tactility (VT) sense. The results showed that comparing VP and VT led to more significant differences than those comparing VM and VT. In addition, there was a significant difference in terms of tactile sensation when comparing TS and HS with respect to subjective responses to texture. Subjects reported that HS felt more comfortable and gave a better cooling sensation. However, the measured objective physiological responses indicated that skin temperature was higher with HS than TS when touched. This research contributes to scholarship around alternative and new materials to build breast prostheses for women with breast cancer.

Comparison of hand, thermal and optical properties of woven fabrics made of triangular and circular shaped filaments (삼각사와 원형사로 제직된 직물의 태, 열적성질 및 광학적 성질의 비교)

  • The handle of fabrics including tactility and sense of visuality are closely related to the factors governing the preferences of end-users. This study shows the change of mechanical properties, thermal properties and optical properties by comparing two fabrics which are woven with circular shaped filaments and with triangular ones. The fabric mechanical characteristics required for primary hand values were evaluated with the KES-FB system. The mechanical properties measured by KES-FB system shows that fabrics made of circular filaments are greater than those made of triangular ones. The thermal properties measured by KES-F7(Thermo Labo II) system shows that the values of the initial maximum value(qmax) and the thermal conductivity(λ) are higher in the fabric made of triangular shaped ones. When the light rays tall on a surface, the fabric made of triangular filaments shows more lustrous than circular ones.

A Study on the Preference and Requirement Performance for Clothing Materials of the Patients having Atopic Dermatitis (아토피 피부염 환자들의 의복 소재 선호도 및 요구 성능)

  • This study was accomplished to investigate the preference of clothing materials and the clothing demand performance for underwear and everyday dress of atopic patients. As this study was the research study by a use of a questionnaire, the finally total 987 copies of the collected questionnaires were used to analyze the data. SPSS was used for the statistical analysis of data. To analyze the data, frequency analysis, percentage, $X^2$-test, reliability analysis, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan's multiple comparisons were used. The results obtained are as follows. In factor analysis for clothing materials and the demand performance which atopic patients favor, the preference factors for underwear materials were classified as pliability/a sense of weight, a sense of cold and warmth, tactility, and elasticity. Those for everyday wear were classified as pliability/surface roughness, a sense of cold and warmth, a sense of weight, and elasticity. And the demand performance factors for underwears were classified as thermophysiology, care convenience, and skin contact. Those for everyday wear were classified as comfortableness and care convenience. In the difference analysis for the preference and the demand performance, Both everyday wear and underwear showed a significant difference for the preference and the demand performance according to gender, age, income, education level, and occupation.

  • This study has been made to examine the basic information, the preferences of material quality, and the demand performance of clothing for underwear materials between atopic patients and non-patients. The measurement tool was a questionnaire. For statistical analysis of data, crosstabs, ${\chi}^2$-test, t-test and ANOVA through SPSS for Windows(version 14.0) were used. The results obtained are as follows. The degree of the basic knowledge about clothing materials indicated that women was higher than men. The material decision method and the most considering part in case of selecting underwear products showed difference between men and women. The preference factors for underwear material quality were drawn with the five factors of sense of weight/pliability, lustering/see-through, tactility, and sense of cold and warmth. The preferred underwear material showed difference according to gender, existence and nonexistence of atopic determatitis, and degree of strength of skin itching caused by clothing materials. The demand performances of clothing in case of selecting underwear were drawn with the four factors of hygiene/practicality, skin protection, quality of materials, and aesthetic attribute. The demand performance of underwear showed difference according to gender, existence and nonexistence of atopic determatitis, degree of strength of skin itching caused by clothing materials.

  • Sensory devices have been developed to help people with disabled or weakened sensory functions. Such devices play a role in collecting and transferring data for the five senses (vision, sound, smell, taste, and tactility) and also stimulating nerves. To provide brain or prosthesis devices with more sophisticated senses, hyper sensory devices with a high resolution comparable to or even better than the human system based on individual neuron cells are essential. As for data collecting components, technologies for sensors with higher resolution and sensitivity, and the conversion of algorithms from physical sensing data to human neuron signals, are needed. Converted data can be transferred to neurons that are responsible for human senses through communication with high security, and neural interfaces with high resolution. When communication deals with human data, security is the most important consideration, and intra-body communication is expected to be a candidate with high priority. To generate sophisticated human senses by modulating neurons, neural interfaces should modulate individual neurons, and therefore a high resolution compared to human neurons (~ several tens of um) with a large area covering neuron cells for human senses (~ several tens of mm) should be developed. The technological challenges for developing sensory devices with human and even beyond-human capabilities have been tackled by various research groups, the details of which are described in this paper.

A Study on Wearing Satisfaction and Purchase about Hanbok Uniforms of Korean Style Food Restaurants (한식당 생활한복 유니폼 구매 및 착용 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • This study was inquiry into wearing condition and satisfaction of Saenghwal Hanbok uniform for Korean restaurant's employees. For this Purpose to be fulfilled survey was carried out to the managers and employees who are working in Korean traditional restaurants located in Seoul, and the reality of wearing Saenghwal Hanbok uniforms and the employees's satisfaction were considered. It taken into consideration when designing Hanbok uniforms for Korean traditional restaurants. The analysis was executed involving Simple Analysis, Correlation Analysis, Independent Samples T-test, Paired Comparison, ANOVA, and Duncun Test using SPSS. The report shows that buyers get two pieces style of skirt ($74\%$) and they are buying from Hanbok shops ($58\%$), or from uniform shops ($21\%$). It is almost impossible to see that employees' opinion is reflected in the uniform design since the decisions are made by either Senior manager or General Manager. Based on the result of this survey, followings should be taken into consideration when designing Hanbok uniforms for Korean traditional restaurants. Firstly, a design should reflect a sphere and a radiuses of action throughout a grasp of the type of restaurant, such as the type of sitting and whether there are stairs or not, and the type of service in charge, and so on. Secondly, considerations on the fabrics in terms of sweat absorption, tactility, weight and so on should be prioritized emphasizing a functional aspect. Thirdly, a sleeve should be narrower and shorter, and the skirt should be less wide and not crease easily. Lastly, a Geogori should be knot-button on with care in order not to be opened and a skirt should be zipped up.

A Study on Masochistic Aspects of Action Games -Focusing on 'Gilles Deleuze's 『Masochism』 Theory- (액션게임에서 나타난 매저키즘적 양상 연구 -질 들뢰즈의 『매저키즘』 이론 중심으로-)

  • Action games exhibit all the specific constellation of masochism, such as disavowal, suspense, waiting, fetishism, and fantasy. These characteristics of action games can be analyzed with respect to masochism. This study conducted an analysis excluding sadism as much as possible, as sadism is a result of etiological misconception as opposed to masochism. However, comparative analysis is included in the study so that action games are not seen as demonstrating sadism. Games create a space for virtual interaction for main agents by connecting gamer-existence and game-character in the framework of a contract. The interaction of visual tactility within this space creates a system of difference in pleasure. Masochism enables one to attain pleasure in a world created himself or herself using fetishism in contractual relationships such as the ones exhibited in games. This shows that action games and masochism are mutually related. This paper analyzed the ontology of action games using actual examples of action games. The paper concluded that action games lead to the fulfillment of masochistic pleasure.

A study on actual use, design preference, and purchasing behaviors of bedding of married women in their 30s~60s (30대~60대 기혼 여성의 연령집단별 침구류 사용실태, 디자인 선호도 및 구매행동에 대한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate actual use, design preference, and purchasing behaviors of bedding among married women in their 30s to 60s, and to determine the differences by age groups on these variables. The subjects were 623 married women and the research method was survey. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, cross tab analysis, multiple response analysis, ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple range test, using SPSS program. The results were as follows. First, on the actual use of bedding, the possession quantity of the bed cover and mattress was 2~4 while bedclothes and pillow was 7~8. The period of use of bedding was about 2~4 years and the frequency of washing was about 2~3 times a month. Second, married women generally preferred white and pastel tones, floral patterns, cotton fabrics, and a clean and comfortable image on bedding designs. Third, on the purchasing behaviors of bedding, married women considered functional damage and health & sanitary aspects as important purchase purposes. The most important selection criterion was fabric. Price, tactility, functionality, and manageability were also important criteria. Married women generally used the internet and store displays as important information sources, and considered bedding specialty stores as important purchase places. They generally spent about 200,000~300,000 won a year to purchase bedding. Fourth, the actual use, design preference, and purchasing behaviors of bedding showed many differences by age group. Therefore, it is needed to establish product development and marketing strategy of bedding, considering customers'age variable.

A Study of Synesthesia Used in Public Advertising (공익포스터의 공감각적 표현 연구)

  • A variety of methods are used in public advertising to make message persuasive. In order for posters to be more appealing, one good way is to use synesthesia. This study analyzed how synesthesia were used for effective communication. The case analysis is based on the prize winning advertisements chosen by the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation. According to the study, synesthesia maximize the efficiency of information delivery. Secondly, in the public campaign posters, sight was the most frequently used sensory element, followed by touch, hearing, smell and taste, respectively. Third, visual tactility was mostly used in nature and environment related posters to effectively deliver the messages. In the topic of social community campaigning, visualization of hearing was applied the most. Lastly, when more than three multisensory stimulations were present in the public campaign, the strongest sense stimulus played the largest part in making message delivery more efficient. The results of this study are expected to provide a scientific basis for future campaign posters that synesthesia expression elements are applied.
