A randomized experimental study was done to evaluate short course therapeutic efficacies of two types of mupirocin ointment (Bactroban Nasal and Bactroban) in the elimination of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) nasal colonization (16 dogs) and wound infection (3 dogs or 18 wound sites) in dogs. In each model, dogs being assigned to TR-1 treatment group was given ointment twice a day for two consecutive days, and those that assigned to TR-2 treatment group was given the same dose for three days. Neither TR-1 nor TR-2 regimen was effective to clear nasal carriage completely with a clearing rate of 62.5% and 87.5%, respectively. Whereas, for 2 days at least twice daily application of mupirocin for wound infection was quite enough to eliminate MRSA, with a clearing rate of 83.3~100% by 4 weeks follow-up. No apparent side effects were observed in each model, and in no case was it necessary to discontinue the treatment. Further controlled studies on the elimination of nasal colonization are required to establish cost-effective and efficient regimen on companion animals.

This study was conducted to observe the effects of urea foliar spray to replace soil fertilization on defoliation ratio, shoot growth and fruit setting in satsuma mandarin (Citrus unshiu Marc.). Twice foliar sprays of 1% urea after harvest increased N and chlorophyll contents in leaves, and decreased defoliation during the winter season. The growth of the ovary and spring shoot was stimulated by the twice 0.8% urea foliar spray around the time of bud emergence. In addition, the treatments increased the number of flowers and fruit setting, but didn't influence fruit quality.

Objectives : This study details on a case of acupotomy for relapsed lateral malleolar bursitis. Methods : A 71-year-old woman with lateral malleolar bursitis was treated with acupotomy twice in an outpatient setting. A sterilized, disposable, blade width 0.5 mm × needle length 50 mm sized acupotomy was administered on GB40 and BL62 on each visit. Pain intensity assessment using Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and the response evaluation criteria was conducted right after each treatment. Results : Pain on NRS declined from 5 to less than 1 after twice of acupotomy treatment. This result was regarded as 'Complete Response' using the response evaluation criteria. There were no side effects during whole treatment procedure at all. Conclusions : It is turned out that acupotomy can have a positive clinical effect on lateral malleolar bursitis in this case without any adverse effect. Further controlled studies on acupotomy for lateral malleolar bursitis are required for clinical application.

In this paper, we propose a new construction method of binary low correlation zone (LCZ) sequence set. New construction method applies Gray mapping to conventional quaternary LCZ sequence set that has specific property. The period of new binary sequence set is twice as that of used sequence set in construction, and maximum magnitude of correlation value within the LCZ and cardinality of new set is also twice as those of used quaternary sequence set. But the LCZ size is the same with that of used sequence set. If the used Quaternary sequence set is optimal, the constructed binary sequence set is optimal with high probability.

Effect of fasting and refeeding on growth and blood chemistry of juvenile olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus L. was investigated when fish achieved compensatory growth. Fish were fed the experimental diet for 6 days a week. Five treatments in triplicate were prepared: C, S1, S2, S3 and S4. Fish in the control group (C) were hand-fed to apparent satiation twice a day. Fish in treatments of S1, S2, S3 and S4 experienced 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks of starvation and were then hand-fed to satiation twice daily during the remaining 7, 6, 5 and 4 weeks of the experiment, respectively. Weight gain of fish in C, S1 and S2 were higher than those of fish in S3 and S4. A significant difference in plasma total protein, glucose, triglyceride, $T_3$ and $T_4$ was observed in between starved and refed fish for the rest periods of the feeding trial. Plasma total protein and $T_3$ of flounder decreased with week of fasting and following correlationships were obtained; Y (Total protein) = -0.13X (week of fasting) + 1.54, $R^2=0.9792$ and $Y(T_3)=-11.48X$ (week of fasting) + 79.57, $R^2=0.8822$, respectively.

In order to find out how nutrition education is going on the lunch feeding school, a questionaire was distributed to 541 primary schools all over the country. (from Nov.26, 1985 to Dec. 31, 1958) Through the answer sheet, it is found the following results; 1. Necessity of school lunch received most affirmative response with 97.3% of principals 59.0% of parents and 72.3% of students. 2. Importance of nutrition education at school was strongly felt with 98.1% of affirmative answers. Children's understanding about it and throughness of the education was very low with the average of 22.1% and 28.1% respectively. 3. Extracurricular nutrition education was being done at 77.8%; once or twice a month 46.8% and once or twice a week 36.3%. It was done at lunch hour at 53.9% of the schools. In 57.7% of the cases dieticians are in charge of the education. 4. Some do it by classroom teaching (45.4%), some by correspondence (30.9%) and others by V.T.R. or slides (11.8%, 8.3% respectively). 5. Most of the respondents felt that it should be done by the professional dietician.

WMSD occurs by accumulating the visible position and movements. Therefore, it is easier to prevent WMSD from occurring than other diseases when each employee is aware of the factors which cause WMSD. Hence, We need to develop exercise remedy, which can be done without using any exercise equipments and regardless places. The exercise prescription for those for LBP was to do the upper body exercise remedy twice in the morning and another twice in the afternoon and the spinal exercise remedy and the lower body exercise remedy once in the morning and once in the afternoon. We measured their maximum muscular strength every second week using a fitness machine so that we could compare the differences of the muscular strength of the test group and the comparison group. Therefore this research presented the fact that the exercise remedy is effective to prevent and cure LBP through a scientific test. And it confirmed that the exercise remedy by the Ergonomic exercise prescriptions is effective on LBP.

It has been reported that clonidine is $\alpha_2$-adrenergic agonist, potnet new hypotensive drug in human with low dose. The change in blood pressure is implicated in the concentration, release, uptake and metabalism of catecholamine and activity of catecholamine synthesizing enzyme in specific brain areas. Thus the experiment was set up to investigate the effect on the enzyme activity of clonidine alone and that of clonidine pretreated with imipramine or tranylcypromine by measuring activity of the Dopa-forming enzyme, tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and epinephrine forming enzyme, phenylethanolamine-N-methyl transferase (PNMT) in brain and adrenal gland. The TH activity in brainstem and substantia nigra is decreased by intraperitoneally administered clonidine 0.1mg/kg twice a day for 5 days, but increased in the rats pretreated with imipramine 10mg/kg intraperitoneally given 26 hrs and 5 hrs before decaptitation. However the TH activity in all regions of brain is increased in rats pretreated with tranylcypromine 10mg/kg intraperitoneally twice a day for 5 days. The effect of clonidine on TH activity is due to inhibition release of norepinephrine by activation of presynaptic $\alpha_2$-adrenoreceptor, axon terminal result in the decrease of TH activity in brain. The increasing of TH activity in brain results in attenuation of the role of clonidine by pretreated with imipramine or tranylcypromine in rats. The activity of PNMT was not significantly affected by clonidine, imipramine and tranylcypromine in adrenal gland.

The purpose of this investigation was to examine the influence of head and neck(HN) position in the transverse plane on the static production of elbow extension force in the involved(paretic) upper extremity of patients with hemiparesis. On this study, thirty patients who had experienced a cerebrovascular accident were matched with neurologically intact subjects. Force of static elbow extension was tested with a hand-held dynamometer, twice with the HN rotated toward the paretic side and twice with the HN rotated toward the non-paretic side. Elbow extension force differed significantly with the HN in the two position in patients with hemiparesis but not in normal persons(${\alpha}$=0.05). Results of this study support the conclusion that HN position in the transverse plane influences the production of static elbow extension force on the paretic side in patients with hemiparesis.

In case that conventional PRC(Pseudo-Randomized Frequency Carrier) modulation scheme is applied to a three-phase HBML(H-Bridge Multi-Level Inverter), the dominant harmonics spectra appear at twice switching frequency. In this paper, the dominant harmonics spectra spreading effect of the conventional PRC scheme was improved by using three stage MUXs(Multiplexers) and two triangular carriers with fixed frequency which has mutual relation of the twice frequency. To confirm the validity of the improved PRC scheme, the experiment were performed on a 1.5[kw] three-phase HBML based induction motor drives. And, the harmonics spectra of the conventional and improved PRC schemes are compared and discussed.
