군용 VoIP 전화기를 위한 고신뢰성 Rx 전력 시스템 설계 (High Reliability Rx Power System Design for Military VoIP Phone)

  • 본 논문에서는 전술정보통신체계(TICN)의 구성 부체계 중 하나인 교환접속체계에서 이더넷 프로토콜을 지원하고 VoIP 교환기와 연동하여 보안된 음성통화/영상통화를 제공하고 다자간 통화, 지령기능 등의 차등 서비스를 지원하는 다기능형 VoIP 전화기의 야전에서의 전원부 불량을 저감하기 위해 개선한 방법들을 제안하였다. 다기능형 VoIP 전화기의 전용 어댑터 출력전압 인입부의 TVS 적용, PoE 모듈 입력단 TVS 적용, Blocking Diode 추가 및 폴리스위치 뒷단의 DC/DC 컨버터 추가 적용을 통하여 전원부를 개선하고 성능 및 환경 시험등을 수행하여 제안방법 타당성을 입증하였다.

  • Organic light emitting diode(OLED) has been developed fast from 1963 when electric light emitting phenomenon was discovered. PMOLED(passive matrix OLED) is producted earlier than AMOLED(active matrix OLED). PMOLED is mainly mounted at sub display, but AMOLED is mounted at main display. Nowadays AMOLED is expanded to PMP(portable multimedia players), navigation and TV market. Even thought OLED's market is opening to many applications, OLED's life is worried until now. If we know about OLED's real life, we need time to test so much time over 20,000hrs. Realistically, there is difficult to test such as long time with products from the information-technology sector having a short life cycle. In this paper, we study about OLED's accelerated test to reduce life test by current. We can design OLED's accelerated life model by the result of test. The model consists of design variables like ratio of light emitting, organic material structure, condition of aging, etc. In conclusion, this model can be applied to study about organic material, machine and manufacturing process etc, and also it's possible to develop a method of manufacturing process & materials, so we need to study on the subject of this paper continuously.

LED Backlight를 위한 다채널 전류평형 단일스위치 LED 구동회로 (Multi-channel Current Balancing Single Switch LED Driver for LED Backlight)

  • We propose a multi-channel current-balancing single switch light-emitting diode (LED) driver for a 3D TV. Conventional LED drivers require non-isolated DC/DC converters as many as the number of LED channels, whereas the proposed LED driver needs only one power switch and several balancing capacitors instead of expensive non-isolated DC/DC converters. Therefore, the proposed driver features a simple structure with low cost and high efficiency. In particular, because its power switch can be turned off under the zero-current switching condition, the proposed driver has desirable advantages, such as improved electromagnetic interference characteristics and high efficiency. Moreover, it only uses a small number of DC blocking capacitors with no additional active devices for the current balancing of multi-channel LEDs. Therefore, the proposed driver exhibits high reliability and cost effectiveness. To confirm the validity of the proposed driver, we perform a theoretical analysis and present design considerations and experimental results obtained from a prototype that is applicable to a 46" LED TV.

  • Flat Panel Displays (FPDs) have made a revolution in the display industry. TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) has been the main player of FPD for last two decades. As the industry continuously develops the technology for better performance with lower cost is constantly demanded where several post LCD technologies are being developed. One of the prime candidates of post LCD technology is AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) that is considered to be an ideal FPD due to its extraordinary display performance and potentially low cost display structure. This technology has been accepted to small size display applications, such as cellular phone, PDA and PMP, etc. In this paper it is discussed that how this technology can be extended to large size display applications, such as TV. The technical issues and solutions of TFT backplane and color patterning of OLED materials are discussed and proposed

Fabrication of a Large LCD Backlight Unit with Red, Green, and Blue LED Lamps

  • A backlight unit for a 42-inch LCD TV was manufactured with red, green, and blue LED lamps. The luminous and light extraction efficiencies of the LED lamps were increased by improving their light reflection structures and thermal properties. The blue, green, and red LED lamps showed different luminous efficiencies as a function of the input current. Compared to the conventional red LED lamp, however, the developed red LED lamp showed very high luminous efficiency in a low drive current. Taking these luminous efficiencies into account, the fabricated backlight unit showed high energy efficiency, low power consumption, and a wide color gamut.

  • Now a days, many different kinds of display technologies such as Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED), and Liquid Crystal On Silicon (LCOS) are designed. And these display technologies will be used in many application products like High Definition Televisions (HDTVs) or mobile devices. In this paper, pattern generation circuit for display test is proposed. The proposed circuit will be embedded in the control circuit of display chip. Two differenct kinds of patterns is generated by the circuit. One is block pattern for color test, and the other is line pattern for pixel test. The shape of test pattern is determined by the values of registers in pattern generation circuit. The circuit is designed using Verilog HDL RTL code.

  • A structure and a design of device were developed to fabricate large-scale active matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display with good color purity and high aperture ratio. With these technologies, we developed a full color 14.1 inch WXGA AMOLED display. For the integration of OLED on an active matrix a-Si TFT backplane, an efficient top emission OLED is essential since the TFT circuitry covers a large position of the pixel aperture. These technologies will enable up the OLED applications to larger size displays such as desktop monitors and TVs.

Cost-Effective Single Switch Multi-Channel LED Driver

  • In this paper, a cost-effective single switch multi-channel LED (light emitting diode) driver is proposed. Ultra-High Resolution and Large Size Organic Light Emitting Diode Panels with Highly Reliable Gate Driver Circuits

  • Large-size, organic light-emitting device (OLED) panels based on highly reliable gate driver circuits integrated using InGaZnO thin film transistors (TFTs) were developed to achieve ultra-high resolution TVs. These large-size OLED panels were driven by using a novel gate driver circuit not only for displaying images but also for sensing TFT characteristics for external compensation. Regardless of the negative threshold voltage of the TFTs, the proposed gate driver circuit in OLED panels functioned precisely, resulting from a decrease in the leakage current. The falling time of the circuit is approximately 0.9 ㎲, which is fast enough to drive 8K resolution OLED displays at 120 Hz. 120 Hz is most commonly used as the operating voltage because images consisting of 120 frames per second can be quickly shown on the display panel without any image sticking. The reliability tests showed that the lifetime of the proposed integrated gate driver is at least 100,000 h.

이더넷 광 네트워크 구현을 위한 1.25 Gbps 광전 트라이플렉스 트랜시버 모듈의 전기적 혼신의 분석 (Characterization of Electrical Crosstalk in 1.25 Gbps Optoelectrical Triplex Transceiver Module for Ethernet Passive Optical Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 이더넷 광 네트워크 구현을 위한 핵심 부품인 1.25 Gbps 광전 트라이플렉스 트랜시버 모듈(Opto-electric triplex transceiver module)의 동작성능 안정화를 위하여 모듈내에서 발생되는 전기적 혼신을 해석 및 측정하였으며, 혼신 감소를 위한 가상접지선(Dummy ground line)이 포함된 신호선 구조를 제안하였다. 광전 트라이플렉스 트랜시버 모듈은 전기신호를 광신호로 바꾸어 전송하는 송신부(Laser diode), 디지털 변조되어 입력된 광신호를 전기신호로 변환하는 디지털 수신부 (Digital photodetector)와 고해상도의 CATV (Community antenna or access television) 신호를 수신하는 아날로그 수신부 (Analog photodetector)가 실리콘 기판(Silicon substrate) 상에 하이브리드 집적되어 구성된다. 디지털 수신부와 아날로그 수신부의 수신감도는 각각 BER(Bit error rate) : $10^-{12}$에서 -24 dBm과 44 dB의 신호대잡음비(Signal-to-noise ratio, SNR)에서 -7.7 dBm을 만족해야하므로 모듈 내의 전기적 혼신은 DC에서 3 GHz까지 - 86 dB이하로 유지되어야한다. 전기적 혼신의 해석 및 측정 결과, 실리콘 기판상의 광원과 디지털 광검출기, 디지털 광검출기와 아날로그 광검출기 사이의 거리를 4 mm 이상 확보하며, 가상접지선을 디지털 광검출기와 아날로그 광검출기의 신호선과 $100\;{\mu}m$ 간격으로 설치하였을 경우, -86 dB 이하의 전기적 혼신 레벨을 만족할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 가상접지선을 사용하는 방법은 실리콘 기판상에 신호선을 형성할 때 동시에 형성할 수 있으므로 별도의 추가비용 없이 구현할 수 있으며, 단순히 광원 및 광 검출기의 사이간격을 충분히 확보하는 방법에 비하여 실리콘 기판의 크기를 감소시켜 최종 모듈의 크기를 약 $50\%$ 감소시킬 수 있다는 장점이 있다.
