  • Recently a study of Virtual-Reality becomes active. Expectation to 3-D reproduction technology rises with it. Electro-holography using Spatial light modulator (SLM) attracts attention, because natural 3-D animated image is provided. In this paper recent development of 3D-TV by Electro-holography is reported. We consider the conditions to holographic TV such as input, transmission and display systems. Also we consider about fast hologram calculation because It is important to execute hologram calculation at high speed to realize the real time electro-holography. Then we consider the possibility of real time holography.

  • We first review a real-time three-dimensional (3-D) holographic recording technique called optical scanning holography (OSH) and discuss holographic reconstruction using spatial light modulators (SLMs). We then present how the overall system can be used for 3-D holographic television (TV) display with a wide-angle view of a 3-D image, and address some of the issues encountered. Finally, we suggest some techniques to alleviate the issues encountered in such a 3-D holographic TV system.

  • Optical scanning holography (OSH) is a distinct digital holographic technique in that real-time holographic recording a three-dimensional (3-D) object can be acquired by using two-dimensional active optical heterodyne scanning. Applications of the technique so far have included optical scanning cryptography, optical scanning microscopy, 3-D pattern recognition, 3-D holographic TV, and 3-D optical remote sensing. This paper reviews some of the recent progress in OSH. Some possible further works are also discussed.

  • Recently. a new technique called Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) has been developed to overcome the drawbacks of existing holography. This technique enable real-time interference fringes to be displayed directly on TV monitor without recourse to any form of photographic processing. This research was carried out for the purpose of applying the vibration analysis method employing Electronic Speckle Pattern Interference technique to the vibration analysis of uniform rectangular cantilever plate. The natural vibration frequencies found by ESPI were in fair agreement with theoretical eigen frequencies acquired using theoretical formula G. B. Warburton proposed.

  • We are familiar with the holography in these days. For making holography the coherent sources like LASER are used in many fields. But coherent holography has many problems. Coherent holography needs many instrument for practical use like 3-D TV case. In solving the problem we use the non-coherent source. Nowadays many methods like conoscopic holo graphy using anisotropic crystal, shadow casting and interferometric systems are suggested. In this paper we make the hologram using the triangular interferometric systems. [1],[2],[3],[4]. We explain the afocal and double-afocal system which consists of the triangular interferometric system. The holography made in one point and two point cases is imaged on CCD camera and we handle the image data digitally for the reconstruction efficiently. In reconstructing the hologram the Fraunhofer diffraction theory is used. We adopt the rectangular aperture for the convenience of calculation. In the future we must reconstruct the perfect 3-Dimensional object by optical method. For this, we have many problems like resolution problem. We must solve these problem for perfect reconstruction.

  • EBS started 2HD MMS experimental broadcasting for the first time in Korea on Feb. 11, 2015. It uses the picture compression technique based on MPEG-2 CODEC, and applies the result of the experiment about variable bit rates and changes according to the scanning types, 1080i and 720p. But when changing channels, the delay in displaying picture occurs because of the operation of the variable GOP on MMS broadcasting, which optimizes image quality by application variable bit rates. In this study, verified the relationship between the decoding time of I frames and the GOP set in the encoding step by experimenting and analyzing ON-AIR TS. By using the verification data and adjusts the Encoder GOP parameters, improved the different video display time delays according to the scanning mode 1080i and 720p.

  • According to the material about the analysis of digital consumers' lifestyle in Korea published at the end of 2016, 100% had experienced a smartphone before, and 91% had joined in digital communications. Among digital contents, 85.5% had experienced music, and 78.6% had used TV contents before. Also, SNS utility rate equaled 83.3%, and the Facebook utility rate of those in the 10's and 20's exceeded 80%. It means that it is necessary to conduct research on SNS utility in broadcasts. Based on the results of operating KBS Facebook accounts, this paper aims to compare the reaches of entertainment, drama, and culture genres and analyze correlation between the reaches and 'like' friends on Facebook and also correlation between the reaches and ratings. To address the goal, among the Facebook mentions operated within a year, 2016, this researcher analyzed 2,526 mentions to publicize entertainment, drama, and culture genres and the results of 834 million reaches and also used the data of original broadcasts' ratings. To analyze the data, this study employed SPSS Ver. 18.0 to perform the independent sample t-test and Pearson's correlation analysis. The conference interval is set as 95%, and p<0.05 is regarded to be statistically significant. According to the results, more reaches are found in entertainment, drama, and culture genres in order, and it is found to have strongly positive correlation with the frequency of 'like's. The reaches and ratings have no correlation, and there is no statistical significance found in it. It is expected that the results of this study can be applied to publicize programs efficiently for broadcasting.

  • Korean pyeongyeong, a set of sixteen L-shape chime stones covering one and one third octaves, is a standard instrument in the Korean traditional court music. We analyze the vibrational mode frequencies in a pyeongyeong replica which is played at the National Center for Korean Traditional Performance Arts and pyeongyeong remains which are exhibited at King Sejong Memorial Museum. The modal shapes on the Whangjong, the 1st stone and Cheonghyurjong, the 16th stone mapped by scanning accelerometer, TV holography and STAR system. The nominal frequencies in pyeongyeong replica at the National Center for Korean Traditional Performance Arts increase linearly with the thickness of the stones and the tones are tuned in line with the musical scale of Sambunsonik. The sexagenary cycles on the pyeongyeong remains at King Sejong Memorial. which show the Year of product indirectly, are different each other and the tones are not tuned in scale. The relative frequency ratios of each modes on stones differ more than just-noticeable differences from those on the pyeongyeong replica. Modal shapes are same for the two stones regardless of the thickness.
