TPS (Train Performance Simulation) based on ATO (Automatic Train Operation) is required for driverless LRT (Light Rail Transit) operation plan instead of typical TPS based on driver operation. In this paper, new TPS model using ATO pattern is proposed and compared with the automatic train operation result in a test line of Seoul Metro Line 6 and in a whole line of Busan-Gimhae LRT. The actual ATO pattern can be very accurately simulated by new TPS model with the introduction of 4 parameters such as commercial braking rate, jerk, station stop profile and grade converted distance. The commercial scheduled time for driverless automatic train operation can be proposed to have "Fast" mode TPS trip time plus 3 seconds/km margin recommended by Korean standard LRT specification in this paper.

The TPS accepts as input, vehicle parameters. control parameters. station parameters and right-of-war profile. Outputs of TPS program include velocity elapsed time and power profiles. This paper represents how to develop the TPS program. The TPS program simulates the operation of a single train under the input conditions.
In this work, the characteristics of train performance of Korean rubber-tired AGT system(K-AGT) are evaluated by using TPS(Train Performance Simulation) and these results are compared to those of other LRT(Light Rail Transit) systems. The performance characteristics of K-AGT was analyzed by comparing the scheduled speed and the energy consumption in case of station interval change and rail track condition change in, the scheduled construction line. In the scheduled construction line, scheduled speed of K-AGT was no difference with other systems and energy consumption was less than other LRT's. In case station intervals are increased, scheduled speed of K-AGT shows similar increasing rate and in curved and graded track conditions K-AGT has no difference in scheduled speed with other systems. As a simulation result by track condition change, when the track which is smaller than curved line of 250m dominates more than $50\%$ in whole track, K-AGT is similar to other systems to the point of scheduled speed and there is advantage in energy consumption.

In this study, a practical evaluation technique to detect the deterioration of railroad lines by means of train performance and track geometry measures is suggested. A train that has a specific performance and is running the straight line can make minimum travel time (ideal time). But the actual travel time will be increased by the track geometry and various speed limitations. By comparing these travel times, we can easily define the degree of line deterioration. This method does not require complex vehicle performance measures and/or specifications that exceed those of typical Train Performance Simulations (TPS). For this reason, ease of use is ensured and the results are similar to those obtained by running a TPS for practical evaluations.
Radiation therapy is one of the beneficial choices in the treatment of cancer. This is a comparison of TPS(Treatment Planning System) and GEANT4-DICOM, which should be preceded by the best radiation therapy. A treatment plan for prostate cancer was established with Eclipse and the point doses 366.1 cGy, 189.1 cGy, 213.4 cGy, 127 cGy, 105.7 cGy of any five prostate, bladder, rectum, right femoral head and left femoral head were identified. GEANT4-DICOM simulation showed that the results of Eclipse and ${\pm}2%$ dose error were confirmed. The monthly X-ray output agreement management value recommended by TG-142 is ${\pm}2%$, which means that the experimental results can be meaningful. In conclusion, GEANT4-DICOM is an infinite way to obtain more extended dose information once the time constraints are overcome in the simulation.
DC traction system generates leakage current because running rails are used in return circuit. And it is very important to estimate the leakage current to the train operation situation. Therefore this paper presents dynamic simulation technique that is very similar to the real operation situation using TPS and PSCAD/EMTDC. For this we model DC traction system included in DC substation, variable feeding circuit model and variable train model. And we extract train location and power using TPS program and use these data for dynamic simulation. Finally we can estimate leakage current to the various operation condition using dynamic simulation.
In this work, the characteristics and the improving method of train performance of Korean rubber-tired AGT system(K-AGT) and Urban MAGLEV system are evaluated by using Train Performance Simulation(TPS). The train performance characteristics of K-AGT were analysed according to the change of maximum running speed and those of Urban MAGLEV were evaluated according to a vehicle weight variation. In the result of simulation in virtual line, the scheduled speed and the running time of K-AGT system have no difference with Urban MAGLEV system if the maximum running speed is equal. But the energy consumption of Urban MAGLEV system is more than that of K-AGT system. The analyses showed that in case of a 20 percent vehicle weight reduction of Urban MAGLEV system, the energy consumption per person is similar with the K-AGT system. The Urban MAGLEV system is more efficient in long travel distance condition than in short running distance condition in the aspect of train performance.
This paper presents development of train performance simulation(TPS) program to analyze traction performance, braking performance and energy consumption for Korea high speed railway system. The conventional TPS program have some inconveniences such as DOS-based platform, user interface and limited function. The simulation technique model using scenario menu, various analysis function and object-oriented design/programming is presented. This simulation result have been compared with Alstom's for the Seoul-Pusan High Speed Rail Project.
The urban railways connecting between the inner city and suburb of Seoul metropolitan area, has lost the competitiveness against cars because too many stops deteriorated operating speed and passenger's level of service. This paper suggests that an express train should be introduced into the urban railway system in order to sort out such a complication. There are two considerations in the present study. Firstly, train schedule problem should be taken into account. In this regard, a new model for urban railway system was developed by revising the existing models dealing with single line freight railway. Approximate branch and bound algorithm based on conflict group rather than a single conflict was adopted. Consequently, it was found that the time saving in calculating the optimal schedule is the most meaningful contribution of the algorithm. The second consideration is associated with the application of the model. A case study was carried out using the actual operation data from Ansan line. In conclusion, the operation speed of the line can increase considerably with minimal number of new sidings.

DC railway power supply system generally uses the running rails as negative-polarity return conductor for traction load current, and the induced rail potential and stay current cause serious problems to any electrified matter in the underground and also safety problems to human body. This paper presents a new algorithm for the analysis of the rail potential and the stray current in DC railway power system operated under independent/parallel power feeding mode. The effect of load current fluctuation during train operation is also calculated by using TPS(Train Performance Simulation) program to analysis the variation of the railway potential and stray current along railway track. Simulation program is developed based on the proposed algorithm and case studies are provided.
