Simple AI Robust Digital Position Control of PMSM using Neural Network Compensator (신경망 보상기를 이용한 PMSM의 간단한 지능형 강인 위치 제어)

  • A very simple control approach using neural network for the robust position control of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM) is presented The linear quadratic controller plus feedforward neural network is employed to obtain the robust PMSM system approximately linearized using field-orientation method for an AC servo. The neural network is trained in on-line phases and this neural network is composed by a fedforward recall and error back-propagation training. Since the total number of nodes are only eight this system can be easily realized by the general microprocessor. During the normal operation the input-output response is sampled and the weighting value is trained multi-times by error back-propagation method at each sample period to accommodate the possible variations in the parameters or load torque. And the state space analysis is performed to obtain the state feedback gains systematically. IN addition the robustness is also obtained without affecting overall system response. This method is realized by a floating-point Digital Singal Processor DS1102 Board (TMS320C31) The basic DSP software is used to write C program which is compiled by using ANSI-C style function prototypes.

  • This paper describes the characteristic feather of propulsion system adopting mass production. The train formation is composed of 4 cars by 2 Motor cars and 2 Train cars. Acceleration rate must be 3.0 km/h/s or more when the car starts up to 35km/h by 16ton of passenger load. The system information supervision is easy because the system is controlled to perfect digital circuits, all information of an action is stored in a memory and is managed. The control system is composed of a fully digital circuit and a high level software such as C language. The DSP TMS320C31 is used for main processor and has the capability of 50MHz, 32bit floating point operation and has a C compiler. Therefore, the implementation of control algorithm and the change of function are easy. VVVF inverter using IGBT conducted variable combined test, environment test using chamber, interface test and field test etc.

  • This paper presents the improvement for speed characteristics of a Brushless DC Motor (BLDCM), it was applied to digital PI control for this. The practical PID control has been widely used to velocity control of DC motors. In this paper, a digital PI controller is used in order to decrease the speed error in constant velocity control of BLDCM. A TMS320C31 DSP is used for the microprocessor of digital PI control. The method using the DSP carry out the real-time control. The DSP has the rapid calculation ability and sampling time used lms. Driving BLDCM used 50W, motor input DC 150V and rotation speed 3000rpm. When BLDCM is to approval for discretion velocity at the acceleration and deceleration driving with any load, it was a feasible for stabilization control. Therefore, the experimental results indicate the superiority and validity of the velocity control by digital PI control.

  • This paper describes the dissipation factor measuring techniques of insulating oil on operating pole transformer by using digital signal processor. After applying voltage to the electrodes which is installed in a transformer, acquiring source voltage and current of electrodes and using cross-correlation techniques, we can check the dissipation factor of insulating oil. To improve measuring accuracy and the speed of process, we use hardware such as TMS320C31 DSP board and software such as cross-correlation techniques and rectangular window techniques. We simulated the measuring accuracy and the degree of the noise effect of this new measuring techniques by using computer simulation, and compared the simplified measuring devices with schering bridge on degraded insulating oil. The result showed that this measuring technique can be used as diagnostic method on the pole transformers.

  • In this paper, a speaker-independent isolated world recognition system for a car navigation system is implemented using a general digital signal processor. This paper presents a method combining SNR normalization with RAS as a noise processing method. The semi-continuous hidden markov model is adopted and TMS320C31 is used in implementing the real-time system. Recognition word set is composed of 69 command words for a car navigation system. Experimental results showed that the recognition performance has a maximum of 93.62% in case of a combination of SNR normalization and spectral subtraction, and the performance improvement rate of the system is 3.69%, Presented noise processing method showed good speech recognition performance in 5dB SNR in car environment.

  • This paper presents a linear temperature/voltage relation over a temperature range(0~100$^{\circ}C$) with high-resolution, reasonably god response linearity, reliability, and overall improved performance. A notable feature of the proposed method is that the whole temperature span is divided by 16 subbands thus the variation span of measured voltage is narrowed. Therefore noise characteristic has been improved. The output voltage is amplified after the uniformed DC voltage component is eliminated by offset. We proposed circuit using median value and mean value of digital signal in order to reduce the noise effect. The proposed circuit offers linear temperature/voltage conversion over a wide dynamic range using DSP(TMS320C31) and steinhart equation.

  • The switching dead time avoiding a bridge leg short circuit in PWM voltage source inverter produces distortions of the controlling inverter output performance such as current waveform, voltage vector, and torque. In this paper, the influence of dead time is investigated. The on-line space voltage vector modulation method is used for current controller. It is possible to compensate dead time by space voltage vector modulation which generates additional pulse compensating voltage distortion caused by dead time. In addition, narrow pulse which is generally neglected can be compensated. All the algorithms, including field-oriented control are performed by one chip microprocessor 80C196MC and DSP TMS320C31. Experimental results probe that the proposed scheme provides a good inverter output performance.

  • RPWM(Random Pulse Width Modulation) techniques have been attracting an interest as an excellent reduction method of acoustic noise on the inverter drive system. Using randomly changed switching fre-quency of the inverter, the power spectrum of the electromagnetic acoustic noise can be spread out into the wide-band area. The wide band noise is much more comfortable and less annoying than the narrow-band one. This paper describes an implementationof the triangular carrier frequency modultde RPWM inverter drive system The poweer soedtrum of the noise emittde from the induction motro was measured in the anechoic chamber. The analysis of the sources for the acoustic noise and the effects of the noise reduction are confirmed by the ceasured dpectra of the noise. Real-time RPWM along with the speed control was achieved by high speed DSP(Digital Signal Processor ) TmS320C31, By changing the center frequency and the bandwidth of the carrier, theis real-time RPWM scheme can be used as an efficient switching frequency band acoustic noise reduction method for the inverter system with variant load conditions.

  • In this paper, adaptive variable structure control is proposed for Electromagnetic Suspension(EMS). Although variable structure control shows excellent robustness to unstructured modelling uncertainty, such as flux leakage and saturation, it has several drawbacks that severely limit practical applicability such as high control activity and control chattering. To minimize these effects, the mass of the electromagnet and efficiency of levitation force are estimated on-line to reduce the range of system uncertainty. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is verified by experimental results using a 1.5kg electromagnet and DSP (TMS320C31).

  • Superconducting magnet energy storage(SMES) offers lower loss and more capacity than other energy storage systems. This paper deals with a configuration and a control method of uninterruptible power supply(UPS) with SMES, Proposed system is constituted of three partsinverter, dc chopper and superconducting coil. The control system is implemented with a general-purpose DSP, TMS320C31. The results of simulation and experiment with a 10kVA prototype show the validity of the system configuration and the control method.
