  • TSA needs to be more transparent with the new passenger screening system and its functioning to build the citizen trust. The system is needed to be not only effective but supported by Congress and the general public. Until this occurs, skepticism will underlie any discussion about its effectiveness in balancing the protection from terrorism with respect to individual liberties. CAPPS II can be a viable system if it is developed appropriately. The objectives of the study are to introduce the security program in the U.S. aviation security policy and to discuss privacy problems when it applies. Korea also needs to study a harmonious plan with the basis of global approach mind in the case of considering the transferring of passenger information from other states for the purpose of security.

  • In this paper, we design optical receiver composed of CDR(clock and data recovery), SA(sense amp), TIA(transimpe dence amplifier), and decision circuit. The optical receiver can be classified to two main block, one is Deserializer composed of CDR and SA, another is PD receiver composed of preamplifier(샴), peak detector, etc. In this paper, we propose CDR using delayed data topology that could improve defects of existing CDR. The optical receiver that is proposed in this paper has the role of translation a 1.25 Gb/s optical signal to $10{\times}125 Mb/s$ array electric signals. This optical receiver is verified by simulator(hspice) using 0.35 um CMOS technology.

TDMA jammer suppression on CDMA overlay

  • The effect of inband TDMA narrow band jammers to DS-CDMA system performance and the suppression techniques are investigated using Monte Carlo simulations. TIA stantard North American Digital Cellular wea used as jammer. Levinson Dubin and conventional recursive least square algorithm were emphasized since these techniques can be implemented with a few DSPs for CDMA application. Two filter structures, i.e., complex suppression filter and real suppression filter in each inphase and quadrature channels, are investigated and their performances are compared. Complex suppression filter with Levinson Durbin algorithm of 20msec updata rate is the most promising with respect to implementation and performance poit of view. Implementation feasibility is discussed and the channel capacity lost by suppression is computed.

  • 임베디스 소프트웨어의 품질시험을 통해 임베디드 시스템 구매자들의 요구에 부합되는 고품질의 시스템을 구현할 수 있다. 임베디드 시스템의 경우 아직까지 국내에서 품질에 대한 시험 인증서비스를 제공하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 한국정보통신기술협회(TIA) SW시험인증센터에서 GS시험 인증서비스를 통해 임베디드 소프트웨어에 대한 품질을 높이는 작업을 수행하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 임베디드 소프트웨어 품질 향상을 위해 중소기업청에서 의뢰한 임베디드 스프트웨어에 대한 GS인증 및 성능시험 적용사례를 기술하였다.

  • Vertigo is a symptom, not a disease. The tenn vertigo refers to the sensation of spinning or whirling that occurs as a result of a disturbance in balance. It's sometimes referred to as a hallucination of motion. The cause of vertigo is very various and generally divided into peripheral and central. A patient presented with severe vertigo, nystagmus and heteophoria. She has taken the BanHaBaekChulChunMa-tang and treated by acupuncture. After 2 days, her symptoms become disappeared and about 1 week, all symptoms except heterophoria were disapperaed. And after 2 weeks, heterophoria was disappeared. In conclusion, we diagnosed her case as vestbular neuronitis by her clinical course, but we also considered her illness as vertebrobasilar insufficiency, TIA etc.

  • Planning and Scheduling in Korean has been developed from Bar Chart to CPM, integrated management and EVM were attempted. As growing of overseas projects, Scheduler was also recognized as important one. However, the reality is that most Korean construction projects still remain in the preparation of construction plan and construction schedule in 1990s. The global Planning and Scheduling trend is EOT claims. I would like to understand the global trend of EOT claims and EOT analysis, and to find out Planning and Scheduling measures to successfully promote EOT claims.

  • The conventional mobile VPN services assumed the mobile communications occur between the MN in foreign networks and the CN in the home network. However, if a MN wants to communicate with another MN in a foreign network, it could degrade the performance of the mobile VPN service because of the triangular routing problem. In this paper, we propose a route optimization mechanism based on the mobile VPN using an x-HA allocated by diameter MIP in order to support the efficient communication between the mobile VPN users in foreign networks. The i-HA maintains the VPN-TIA as well as the x-HoA as the CoAs to solve the security problem and to provide an efficient route optimization simultaneously. Moreover, we proposed revised IPSec tunnel configuration to reduce the IPSec tunnel overheads at a MN when the MN communicates with several MNs in the foreign networks at the same time. The VPN server, a security management entity in the home network, notifies an additional IPSec tunnel establishment between the x-HAs where the communication peers are registered. The simulation result showed that the proposed scheme decreases the end-to-end packet delay time and improves the throughput after the handoff compared to the existing mechanism.

  • This paper introduces a 2.5-Gb/s optical receiver implemented in a standard 1P4M 0.18um CMOS technology for the applications of active optical HDMI cables. The optical receiver consists of a differential transimpedance amplifier(TIA), a five-stage differential limiting amplifier(LA), and an output buffer. The TIA exploits the inverter input configuration with a resistive feedback for low noise and power consumption. It is cascaded by an additional differential amplifier and a DC-balanced buffer to facilitate the following LA design. The LA consists of five gain cells, an output buffer, and an offset cancellation circuit. The proposed optical receiver demonstrates $91dB{\Omega}$ transimpedance gain, 1.55 GHz bandwidth even with the large photodiode capacitance of 320 fF, 16 pA/sqrt(Hz) average noise current spectral density within the bandwidth (corresponding to the optical sensitivity of -21.6 dBm for $10^{-12}$ BER), and 40 mW power dissipation from a single 1.8-V supply. Test chips occupy the area of $1.35{\times}2.46mm^2$ including pads. The optically measured eye-diagrams confirms wide and clear eye-openings for 2.5-Gb/s operations.

DENTAL MANAGEMENT OF A PATIENT WITH MOYAMOYA DISEASE UNDER GENERAL ANESTHESIA (모야모야병(moyamoya disease) 환자의 전신마취 하 치과 치료)

  • Moyamoya disease is a disorder in which certain arteries in the brain are constricted. Blood flow can be blocked by the constriction and blood clots. The patients frequently experience transient ischemic attacks (TIA), cerebral hemorrhage, or may not experience any symptoms at all. It is reported that they have a higher risk of recurrent stroke and a distinct underlying pathophysiology. A 3-year-8-month old boy with moyamoya disease experienced cerebral infarctions five times, and he underwent a cerebrovascular anastomosis surgery four years ago. He showed swallow disturbance, general delayed development, hemiplegia, and strabismus. Also he had hypocalcified teeth with or without multiple caries lesions in all dentitions. Dental treatment under general anesthesia using sevoflurane was performed due to his lack of cooperation. Moyamoya disease is associated with various medical conditions requiring a thoughtful deliberation and a careful examination before and during dental treatment. Pain and anxiety control during dental treatment is important because hyperventilation induced by crying has been seen to trigger TIA. Both isoflurane and sevoflurane are commonly used in patients with MMD, but dynamic autoregulation is better preserved during sevoflurane than isoflurane anesthesia. So sevoflurance general anesthesia may be recommendable to manage dental patients having multiple caries with moyamoya disease.

  • Trend Impact Analysis(: TIA) is an advanced forecasting tool used in futures studies for identifying, understanding and analyzing the consequences of unprecedented events on future trends. An adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system is a kind of artificial neural network that integrates both neural networks and fuzzy logic principles, It is considered to be a universal estimator. In this paper, we propose an advanced mechanism to generate more justifiable estimates to the probability of occurrence of an unprecedented event as a function of time with different degrees of severity using Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System(: ANFIS). The key idea of the paper is to enhance the generic process of reasoning with fuzzy logic and neural network by adding the additional step of attributes simulation, as unprecedented events do not occur all of a sudden but rather their occurrence is affected by change in the values of a set of attributes. An ANFIS approach is used to identify the occurrence and severity of an event, depending on the values of its trigger attributes. The trigger attributes can be calculated by a stochastic dynamic model; then different scenarios are generated using Monte-Carlo simulation. To compare the proposed method, a simple simulation is provided concerning the impact of river basin drought on the annual flow of water into a lake.
