  • Experimental studies were performed to improve the THC emission characteristics by optimizing the flow in the exhaust manifold and CCC in a SI engine. For this purpose the flow characteristics in the exhaust manifold and CCC were measured by using LDV technique under various engine conditions, Referring to these data a new type exhaust manifold was designed to improve the cold-start emission characteristics and the response characteristics of {{{{ OMICRON _2}}}} sensor by optimizing the flow pattern and reducing the thermal inertia of the exhaust manifold system. It was found through the vehicle emission tests that the emission characteristics of THC of the new type exhaust manifold was improved by 12% through the optimizing the flow pattern in the exhaust manifold.

Electroluminescent Property of Tetrahydrochrysene as a Potential Emitting Layer in Organic Electroluminescent Device

  • As a potential electroluminescent material, tetrahydrochrysene (THC) is prepared using the dehydrocyclization following the acyloin condensation of methyl-3-phenyl propionate as key step from trans-mehyl cinnamate in 3 steps. THC showed emission at 428 and 456 nm after the photo- and electro-excitation, respectively. The luminance of THC doped on PVK was about /$25 cdm^2$ at 30 voltage with 70 nm of thickness. The results suggests that a new fluorescent organic dye, THC can be used organic electroluminescent device.

  • Experimental studies were performed to understand the flow characteristics in the exhaust system and improve the THC emission characteristics by optimizing the flow in the exhaust manifold and CCC in a SI engine. For this purpose, the flow characteristics in the exhaust systems with two types of exhaust manifolds(STD and New Type) were measured by using LDV technique under various engine condition. It was found that the flow characteristics in the New Type exhaust manifold was more desirable in a view point of heat loss reduction from the exhaust gases. The vehicle emission tests showed that the THC emission in the New Type exhaust manifold was decreased by 12%.

컬럼식 연속추출장치에 의한 산세폐액중 Ni의 회수 (Recovery of Nickel from Waste Pickling Solution with Column Extractor)

  • 유리질산 및 불산이 제거된 산세폐액으로부터 Ni을 회수하기 위하여 컬럼식 연속추출장치에 의한 연속실험을 수행하였다. 먼저 Ni 회수 실험에 앞서 폐액중 다량 함유되어 있는 Fe나 Cr을 효과적으로 침전 제거하기 위해서는 중화제로 $CaCO_3$가 적절하며 이대 Ni은 전혀 침전되지 않는다. 한편 컬럼식 연속추출장치에 의한 No의 추출특성을 살펴보면 pulse velosity(Amplitude$\times$Frequency)가 증가함에 따라 수상과 유기상의 혼합효과가 증대되어 Ni의 추출율이 높아지고 이에 딸 HETS도 감소하고 있으나, pulse velosity가 임계치 이상으로 증가하게 되면 수상과 유기상의 강력한 혼합에 의해 원판과 원판사이에 분리층이 형성되지 못하고 컬럼 전체가 완전한 혼합 형태로 되어 추출율이 낮아지고 HETS도 길어지게 된다. 유기상에 추출된 Ni은 탈거시 탈거액으로 2M ${H}_{2}{SO}_{4}$액을 사용하면 효과적으로 농축 회수할 수 있다. 그리고 ${H}_{2}{SO}_{4}$용액중 $NiSO_4$의 용해도는 ${H}_{2}{SO}_{4}$ 농도가 증가함에 따라 감소하여 2M ${H}_{2}{SO}_{4}$ 용액에서는 55 gr/$\ell$ 정도로 나타나고 있으며, 이같은 $NiSO_4$의 과포화특성을 이용하면 탈거액의 증발과정을 거치지 않고 $NiSO_4$결정을 얻을 수 있다.

  • 저 마약형 대마 품종 육성에 이용하고자 네덜란드 CPRO에서 도입한 저 마약형 유전자원의 특성을 검정한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 도입 유전자원들은 고위도인 네덜란드에서 재배했을 때에 비해 중위도인 우리나라에 재배했을 때 개화소요일수가 짧아 경장이 작았다. CBD 함량은 두 지역간 차이가 다소 있는 경향이었으나 THC 함량은 거의 변하지 않았다. 2. 개화소요일수, 경장, 경직경, 생경중 및 섬유수량 등 대마 생육형질들은 서로 간에 고도로 유의한 정의 상관을 보였고, cannabinolds 함량과의 상관에서는 CBD 함량과는 고도로 유의한 정의 상관을 보였으나 THC와 CBN 함량과는 유의한 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 3. 공시한 44 도입종과 재래종을 군집분석의 Q 상관으로 도출된 r = 0.80으로 선을 그었을 때 3개 품종군으로 나누어졌으며 품종군에도 속하지 않는 것이 4품종이었다. 4. 분류된 모든 품종군은 개화소요일수와 경장이 짧아 우리나라에서 섬유용 품종으로 적합하지 않았고 품종군으로 분류되지 않은 것들 중 도입종 IH3은 THC 함량이 0.08%로 낮으면서 개화소요일수가 122일로 재래종과 비슷하였다.

원통형 활성탄 카트리지 내 폐활성탄의 휘발성 유기화합물 저온 탈착 특성 (Characteristics of Low Temperature Desorption of Volatile Organic Compounds from Waste Activated Carbon in Cylindrical Cartridge)

  • 본 연구에서는 도장 공정에서 사용된 폐활성탄을 원통형 카트리지에 충진하여 저온 가스에 의한 탈착 특성을 파악하였다. 폐활성탄의 탈착유량을 결정하기 위하여 활성탄의 톨루엔 흡착 및 탈착 실험을 진행하였다. 실험결과에서 1, 2, 4 ㎥ min-1의 유량으로 탈착을 하였을 때 높은 THC 농도와 탈착시간에 의하여 2 ㎥ min-1이 적절하다고 판단하였다. 폐활성탄은 탈착시간 초기에 가스성분에서 비점이 낮은 2-butanone과 MIBK (methyl isobutyl ketone)가 높은 비율로 발생되었고, 그 이후에는 THC의 농도가 감소하면서 BTX계열이 상대적으로 높은 비율로 탈착되었다. 폐활성탄의 탈착시간 동안 발생되는 가스 성분의 총 열량은 316 kcal kg-1으로 나타났다. 폐활성탄을 이용하여 톨루엔으로 5회 반복 재생한 결과에서는 요오드가 및 비표면적이 신탄에 비하여 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 분석되었다. 원통형 카트리지 2개를 직렬로 연결한 탈착실험에서는 최대 THC농도가 약 470 ppm으로 나타났다.

  • The liquefied petroleum gas(LPG), mixture of propane and butane, has the potential to reduce toxic hydrocarbon emissions and inhibit ozone formation due to its chemical composition. Conventional mixer systems, however, have problems in meeting the future lower emission standards because of the difficulty in controlling air-fuel ratio precisely according to mileage tar accumulation. Liquid Phase LPG injection(LPLi) system has several advantages in more precise fuel metering and higher engine performance than those of the conventional mixer type. On the other hands, leakage problem of LPLi system at the injector tip is a main obstacle for meeting more stringent future emission regulations because these phenomena might cause excessive amount of THC emission during cold and hot restart phase. The main focus of this paper is the development of a leaked fuel recirculation system, which can eliminate the leaked fuel at the intake system with the activated carbon canister. Leaked fuel level was evaluated by using a fast response THC analyzer and gas chromatography. The result shows that THC concentration during cold and hot restart stage decreases by over 60%, and recirculation system is an effective method to meet the SULEV standard of the LPLi engine.

A Review on Studies of Marijuana for Alzheimer's Disease - Focusing on CBD, THC

  • Objectives: This study was to discuss the research trend of dementia treatment using cannabis for the purpose of providing the basis of cannabis use for medical purposes in the future. Methods: This study searched publications, which were registered to databases or published by Aug 22, 2019, and targeted the full-text or abstracts of these publications. We selected the final nine studies met all selection criteria. Results: These results implied that the CBD components of cannabis might be useful to treat and prevent AD because CBD components could suppress the main causal factors of AD. Moreover, it was suggested that using CBD and THC together could be more useful than using CBD or THC alone. Conclusion: We hope that there will be a solid foundation to use cannabis for medical use by continuously evaluating the possibility of using cannabis for clinical purposes as a dementia treatment substance and cannabis can be used as a positive tool.

플라즈마를 이용한 이륜자동차 배출가스저감 특성 (The removing characteristic of harmful exhaust from a motorcycle using non-thermal plasma)

  • In the last several centuries, humankind have been experienced the material abundance with a development of technical civilization and being industrialized quickly. During the process of this, environmental pollutant have occurred naturally so that humankind have more interests for environment pollutant. Air pollution caused by exhaust from a car is very harmful for human. Most of exhaust from a gasoline engine are $CO_x(CO+CO_2),\;NO_x(NO+NO_2)$, and THC(Total Hydrocarbon). The method to remove these kinds of noxious gases are so many thing such as the three catalysts, $NO_x$ catalysts, Filter and so on. However, although air pollution caused by exhaust from motorcycle have also occurred very much, there is no regulation for motorcycle. In this paper, we studied to remove $CO_x(CO+CO_2),\;NO_x(NO+NO_2)$, THC exhaust from a motorcycle using non-thermal plasma In the result, $NO_x(NO+NO_2)$ concentration was decreased approximately 70% and THC(Total Hydrocarbon) was removed about 40%.
