  • As the speed of networks that subscribers can use has greatly increased, demand for high-quality broadcast content, such as from Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) and Video on Demand (VoD), is likewise increasing. Therefore, while broadcasters are increasing content and channels, they are striving to improve consumer quality of experience (QoE) to differentiate themselves from competitors, including by producing higher physical-quality content. Recently, subjective measurement methods have been internationally standardized as the most reliable approach for measuring and evaluating IPTV QoE. However, a majority of these methods are performed in experimental environments and are based on the extremely brief viewing period of approximately ten seconds using original reference videos. It is actually difficult to apply standard evaluation methods based on a ten-second viewing interval to assess real broadcast watching of IPTV or other services that involve a longer time (i.e., more than thirty minutes). In this paper, we therefore propose a method that accommodates actual viewing environments. Using the mean opinion score, we experimentally analyze the effects of evaluation interval changes under actual conditions in which IPTV service is provided. In addition, we propose improvements by applying the results into actual live broadcast IPTV service and by analyzing consumer service QoE.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in the contents of constituents in Samultang and its fermentations with 10 species of lactic acid bacteria. Methods : Ten strains of lactic acid bacteria, Lactobacillus casei, L. acidophilus, L. casei, L. plantarum, L. amylophilus, L. curvatus, L. delbruekil subsp. lactis, L. casei, B. breve, and B. thermophilum, were used for the fermentation of Samultang. The increased and decreased constituents were identified using HPLC/DAD and various liquid chromatographic techniques, and the structure was elucidated using NMR and MS. These compounds were quantitatively analyzed using an HPLC/DAD system. Results : A remarkably increased component was identified to be nodakenetin and a decreased component was determined to be nodakenin. The fermentation of the ten lactic acid bacteria demonstrated that the decomposable rate of these two compounds in fermented Samultang were different. Samultang fermented by L. plantarum showed the most remarkable changes. Conclusion : Nodakenetin was identified as bioconversion component after fermentation and L. plantarum was discovered the best bacteria to increase the component.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate and to identify and to classify the fabric names concerning costume in the sumptuary laws of Silla in Sam Guk Sa Ki(三國史記). The important findings of this study can be summarized as follows: Various names of fabrics concerning costume in the sumptuary laws of Silla were found to be classified into ten categories of fabrics. They were as follows: (1) kye( ), (2) Su(繡), (3) Kum(錦), (4) Ra(羅), (5) Reung(綾), (6) Sa(紗), (7) Si( ), (8) Kyun(絹), (9) Myun Ju(綿紬), (10) Po(布). Ra(羅) in ten categories was the most various. The numbering orders shown above were the orders of degree of valuability and preciousness of the fabrics in Silla. Namely, (1) Kye( ) was the most precious fabric, (2) Su(繡) was the second precious one, (3) Kum(錦) was the third precious one, and so on. It was found that the orders of the degree of preciousness of fabrics were a system for differentiating social class and rank, or sex of the people. It revealed the ordering system of the degree of the preciousness of fabrics of Silla was derived from T'ang dynasty. The system of Silla and T'ang system were almost the same each other. Materials used to manufacture fabrics were of mainly three kinds; e.g., wool, silk, and hemp. In these three kinds of materials silk was the most common stuff, and it was seen under the various names of the silks.

  • Ten microsporidian isolates from Samia cynthia ricini, and Antheraea assamensis in India along with a Nosema reference strain (NIK-1s_mys) from B. mori India were characterised morphologically and molecular based tools. The test isolates observed elongated oval in shape while reference strain was oval and ranging from 3.80 to 4.90 m in length and 2.60 to 3.05 m in width. The ribosomal DNA region 'IGS' of test isolates assessed by PCR amplification, followed by cloning and sequencing. IGS sequence and phylogenetic analysis of test microsporidian isolates showed very close relationship with three Nosema references species: N. philosamia, N. antheraea isolated from Philosamia cynthia ricini and Antheraea perny in China respectively and N. disstriae from Malacosma disstriae in Canada. The clustering pattern of dendogram reveals all test isolates appear distinct from Nosema std. (NIK-1s_mys) India used as reference strain in the study. The result suggests IGS indeed a suitable and highly applicable molecular tool for identifying and characterise the microsporidian isolates in similar population.

  • The effects of intra-articula. sodium hyaluronate(SH) and polysulfated glycosaminoglycan(PSGAG) on degenerative joint disease of the carpus were compared each other In 20 racehorses. Ten horses were dosed with intra-articula. injection of 20mg SH(2 times/2 weeks interval) and ten horses were dosed with intra-articular injection of 250mg of PSGAG(4 times/1 week into.val). Synovial fluid analysis and clinical examination were made to evaluate the effects of the drugs on degenerative joint disease at before injection and 2 weeks after the last injection, respectively. Appearance and mucinous precipitate quality oi synovial fluids of the group injected with 58 and PSGAG were improved by 40~50% and 60~80%, respectively. The chemical values of alkaline phosphatase, lactic dehydrogenase, aspartate aminotransferase, total protein, A/G ratio and glucose of synovial fluid in the group injected with PSGAG were more clearly returned to the normal values than those of the group injected with SH. Relative viscosity and total white blood cells of synovial fluid were returned to the normal walues after the treatments in both groups. Clinical symptoms(swelling, heat and pain on carpal joint, and lameness) of the horses in the group injected with SH and PSGAG were disappeard by 56~67% and 67~80%, respectivelty. Conclusively, the PSGAG was superior to SH in the effects on treatment of the degenerative joint disease in the horses.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity of digital models fabricated by dental scannable stone. Methods: Twenty same cases of stone models(maxillary full arch) were manufactured. Intercanine distance, intermolar distance, two dental arch lengths(right, left), two diagonal of dental arch lengths(right, left) were measured for comparison. Each of ten stone models were measured by digital vernier calipers and scanned by dental scanner. Ten digital models were measured by CAD program. The mean(SDs) values were compared by a Mann-Whitney U test(${\alpha}$=0.05). Results: No statistically significant differences between the two groups were found at intermolar distance, dental arch length(right)(p>0.05). However, intercanine distance, dental arch length(left) and two diagonal of dental arch lengths(right, left) were statistically significant(p<0.05). Conclusion: Stone models fabricated by dental scannable stone showed larger than digital models.

  • A watershed model was constructed using Hydrological Simulation Program Fortran to quantitatively predict the stream flows at major tributaries of Nakdong River basin, Korea. The entire basin was divided into 32 segments to effectively account for spatial variations in meteorological data and land segment parameter values of each tributary. The model was calibrated at ten tributaries including main stream of the river for a three-year period (2008 to 2010). The deviation values (Dv) of runoff volumes for operational stream flow forecasting for a six month period (2012.1.2 to 2012.6.29) at the ten tributaries ranged from -38.1 to 23.6%, which is on average 7.8% higher than those of runoff volumes for model calibration (-12.5 to 8.2%). The increased prediction errors were mainly from the uncertainties of numerical weather prediction modeling; nevertheless the stream flow forecasting results presented in this study were in a good agreement with the measured data.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate shade selection using conventional visual assessment in vivo natural teeth and porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crown. Maxillary central incisors, lateral incisors and canines of one hundred twenty four college women were used as vivo natural teeth. Fifty one PFM crown for maxillary central incisor fabricated by dental laboratory were used as experimental materials. Using Vitapan Classical Shade Guides, shade selection of natural teeth was measured by each college woman and shade selection of PFM crown was measured by three ceramists with more than ten years career. Both natural teeth and PFM crown shade selection were measured through Shade Eye-Ex. From the shade selection comparing, following results were obtained. The results were as follows: 1. The shade matching identification of natural teeth between the shade selection using Vitapan Classical Shade Guides and the shade selection using Shade Eye-Ex was 27.4% in maxillary central incisor, 13.7% in lateral incisor and 18.5% in canine. 2. Among the shade selection of PFM crown by three ceramists, the shade evaluation of three ceramists were same only in ten cases. In twenty case, those of two ceramists were same. 3. The shade matching identification of PFM crown between the shade selection using Vitapan Classical Shade Guides and the shade selection using Shade Eye-Ex was 38.6% in average. These results suggest that the shade selection using conventional visual assessment should be dealt with care in clinic and need a credible method for shade matching color.

  • The altered amino acid (AA) levels as neurotransmitter closely correlate to neurodegenerative conditions including Alzheimer's disease (AD). Target profiling analysis of nineteen AAs in brain cortex samples from three Tg2576 mice as AD model and three littermate mice as control model was achieved as their N(O,S)-ethoxycarbonyl/tert-butyldimethylsilyl derivatives by gas chromatography. Subsequently, star pattern recognition analysis was performed on the brain AA levels of AD mice after normalization to the corresponding control median values. As compared to control mice, $\gamma$-aminobutyric acid among ten AAs found in brain samples was significantly reduced (P < 0.01) while leucine was significantly elevated (P < 0.02) in AD mice. The normalized AA levels of the three AD mice were transformed into distorted star patterns which was different from the decagonal shape of control median. The present method allowed visual discrimination of the three AD mice from the controls based on the ten normalized AA levels.
