This paper provides a new approach to analyze the stability of a general multi-link TCP Vegas, which is a kind of feedback-based congestion algorithm. Whereas the conventional approaches use the approximately linearized model of the TCP Vegas along equilibrium pints, this approach models a multi-link TCP Vegas network in the form of a piecewise linear multiple time-delay system. And then, based on the exactly characterized dynamic model, this paper presents a new stability criterion via a piecewise and multiple delay-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii function. Especially, the resulting stability criterion is formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).
개선된 Snoop 프로토콜은 WZACK(Window Size Zero ACKnowledge Packet)을 이용하여 혼잡제어를 정지시킴으로써 비효율적인 혼잡제어를 막도록한다.
ROTT(Relative One-way Trip Time)을 이용하여 네트워크 상태변화를 민감하게 반영하는 손실 구분 알고리즘을 수식적으로 전개하였다.
In this paper, we propose a window-based congestion control algorithm to achieve a fair sharing of the available bandwidth in ECN capable heterogeneous TCP networks with a single bottleneck link. The proposed algorithm is based on extracting the network status from the successive binary congestion information provided by ECN. From the explicit network information, we estimate the fair window size proportional to the propagation delay. Through simulations, the effect and performance of the proposed algorithm are shown for the heterogeneous networks.
In cognitive radio networks (CRNs), the performance of the transmission control protocol (TCP) at the secondary user (SU) severely drops due to the mistrigger of congestion control. A long disruption is caused by the transmission of primary user, leading to the mistrigger. In this paper, we propose a cross-layer approach, called a CR-aware scheme that enhances TCP performance at the SU. The scheme is a sender side addition to the standard TCP (i.e., TCP-NewReno), and utilizes an explicit cross-layer signal delivered from a physical (or link) layer and the signal gives an indication of detecting the primary transmission (i.e., transmission of the primary user). We evaluated our scheme by implementing it onto a software radio platform, the Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP), where many parts of lower layer operations (i.e., operations in a link or physical layer) run as user processes. In our implementation, we ran our CR-aware scheme over IEEE 802.15.4. Furthermore, for the purpose of comparison, we implemented a selective ACK-based local recovery scheme that helps TCP isolate congestive loss from a random loss in a wireless section.
본 논문에서는 TCP 성능을 개선하기 위하여 패킷 손실이 발생한 환경에 따라 정확히 구분할 수 있는 SLDA(Support vector machine based Loss Discrimination Al gorithm)를 제안하고 그 성능을 평가한다.
In this paper, we propose sliding mode congestion controller for differentiated-services network. Two important issue in differentiated-services architecture are bandwidth guarantee and fair sharing of unsubscribed bandwidth among TCP flows with and without bandwidth reservation. We use tight upper and lower bounds for various settings of differentiated-services parameters using the loss-bounded model. The Sliding mode congestion controller scheme is designed using nonlinear control theory based on a nonlinear model of the network that is generated using fluid flow consideration. The methodology used is general and independent of technology, as for example TCP/IP or ATM. The sliding mode congestion controller methodology has been applied to an TCP network. We use NS-2 simulation to demonstrate that the proposed control methodology achieves the desired behavior of the network, and possesses important attributes. as e.g, stable and robust behavior, high utilization with bounded delay and loss, together with good steady-state and transient behavior.
TCP applied to the wireless-wired integrated network is the one that was applied to the existing wired network. In the wireless-wired integrated network, both wireless and congestion loss can occur. When wireless packet losses occur, the congestion control of TCP causes performance degradation by reducing its transmission rate. In this paper, we propose the algorithm to distinguish the wireless packet loss from congestion packet loss using MIB of the 802.11 MAC which has been generally used recently in wireless links.
TCP does not distinguish between congestion and packet losses due to route change and link failures, which are prevalent in mobile ad hoc networks. So, TCP does not show satisfactory performance in ad hoc networks since it assumes that all packet losses are due to network congestions. In particular, when a route is reestablished it needs to be adaptively determined CWND according to the new route features. In this paper, we proposed CWND adjustment scheme to improve the TCP performance overad hoc networks. TCP sender effectively adjusts CWND by monitoring the network situation using control packets. Simulation results using NS-2 show that the proposed scheme increases TCP throughput compared with those of general TCP.
