  • Because of capacity of the electric power equipment grew larger and the electric power system was complicated, it was required a protocol to process data without the errors in order to supply the high quality and stable electric power. However, HDLC and TCP/IP communication protocol using between Seoul EMS and Kwangju RCC (or between RCC and SCC) is decreasing reliability by the delay of speed and the occurrence of errors. In this paper, we applied ICCP(Inter-Control Center Communication Protocol) communication protocol in order to improve them and implemented an electric power communication system for remote control of the electric power equipment. Also, we modified program for error correction and implemented the system using the most suitable BLT. The errors were more decreased in case of ICCP protocol than HDLC protocol and TCP/IP protocol applied to the electric power communication system.

  • This paper studied the transmission control protocol over IP network to enhance the performance of the GSO satellite communication networks. The focus of this study is how to reduce the long round trip time and the transmission data rates over satellite link in the bidirectional satellite network. To do it, this study applied the caching and spoofing technology. The spoofing technology is used to reduce the required time for the link connection during communication. The caching technology is to improve the transmission bandwidth efficiency in the high transmission data rate link The tests and measurements in this study was performed in the commercial GSO communication satellite network and the terrestrial Internet network. The results of this paper show that the studied protocol in this paper highly enhance the performance of the bidirectional satellite communication network compare to the using TCP/IP satellite network protocol.

  • As the internet communication is prevalent in recent years, it becomes quite possible to monitor and control some mechanical plants from the remote place through the TCP/IP communication. Such a concept is expected to be applied to many industrial systems for easy maintenance and trouble shooting as well as various kinds of expensive test equipments for sharing. In this research, remote data monitoring and speed control for a DC-motor is implemented and tested through TCP/IP communication with embedded micro-controllers. It showed the possibility of reliable remote control system design utilizing the internet communication.

  • Bandwidth and Buffer are critical network resources to determine the end-to-end quality of service. In this paper, we investigate several techniques on bandwidth and buffer management and classify them according to the types they used for controlling the throughput of a TCP/IP network. Moreover, in this paper, it present a new approach for modeling the active bandwidth and buffer control mechanisms for TCP/IP networks.

  • TCP/IP, the most popular communication protocol, is processed on a host CPU in traditional computer systems and this imposes enormous loads on the host CPU. Recently TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE) technology, which processes TCP/IP on a network adapter instead of the host CPU, becomes an important way to solve the problem. In this paper we analysed the structure of a TCP/IP protocol stack in the Linux operating system and important factors, which cause a lot of loads on the host CPU, by measuring the time spent on processing each function in the protocol stack. Based on these analyses, we propose a Hybrid TOE architecture, in which functions imposing much loads on the host CPU are implemented using hardware and other functions are implemented using software.

  • The increasing use of Ethernet-TCP/IP network in industry has led to the growing interest in its reliability in real-time applications such as automated manufacturing systems and process control systems. However, stochastic behavior of its medium access scheme makes it inadequate for time-critical applications. In order to guarantee hard real-time communication service in Ethernet-TCP/IP network, we proposed an algorithm running over TCP/IP protocol stack without modification of protocols. In this paper, we consider communication services guaranteeing deadlines of periodic real-time messages over MAC protocols that have unbounded medium access time. We propose a centralized token scheduling scheme for multiple access networks. The token is used to allow a station to transmit its message during the time amount that is appended to the token. The real-time performance of the proposed algorithm has been described.

  • Recently, Applications of BLDC motor have grown gradually in energy savings and controls of speed and torque. But most of BLDC motors need controller and driving circuits aside from motor, according to various situations. In this paper, it was designed for a embedded controller and motor including microprocessor that programmable intelligent control as various circumstances. And in order that the user conveniently use better than to use web browser using TCP/IP module in controller.

  • TCP is considered a major candidate transport protocol even for constrained IoT networks due to its ability to integrate into the existing network infrastructures. Since TCP implementations such as uIP TCP often allow only a single TCP segment per connection to be unacknowledged at any given time due to resource constraints, the congestion control relies only on RTO management. In our previous work, to address the problem that uIP TCP performs poorly particularly when a radio duty cycling mechanism is enabled and the hidden terminal problem is severe, we proposed a RTO scheme for uIP TCP and validated the performance through Cooja simulation. In this study, we investigate the effect of other factors that were not considered in our previous work. More specifically, the effect of traffic intensity, the degree of the hidden terminal problem, and RDC is investigated by varying the offered load and the transmission range, and the RDC channel check rate. Simulation results imply that we need to further investigate how to improve TCP performance when the radio duty cycling mechanism is used.
