In this paper, we investigated performance of a vocabulary-independent speech recognizer with speaker adaptation. The vocabulary-independent speech recognizer does not require task-oriented speech databases to estimate HMM parameters, but adapts the parameters recursively by using input speech and recognition results. The recognizer has the advantage that it relieves efforts to record the speech databases and can be easily adapted to a new task and a new speaker with different recognition vocabulary without losing recognition accuracies. Experimental results showed that the vocabulary-independent speech recognizer with supervised offline speaker adaptation reduced 40% of recognition errors when 80 words from the same vocabulary as test data were used as adaptation data. The recognizer with unsupervised online speaker adaptation reduced abut 43% of recognition errors. This performance is comparable to that of a speaker-independent speech recognizer trained by a task-oriented speech database.
This study examined the influence of mothers' reading and scaffolding behaviors on children's emotional experiences and memory recall during picture book reading. Sixty children, aged 6 and their mothers participated in this study. Each child-mother dyad was observed in a lab setting which was designed to evaluate child-mother interactions during a picture book reading. The data were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression techniques. Our results indicated that mothers' task-oriented reading behavior affected the children's lack of positive emotions, whereas mothers' fun-oriented reading behavior was associated with the children's positive emotions. The task-oriented reading behavior also accounted for children's poor memory performance in relation to the book. These results were discussed in terms of the relationship between emotion and cognition through book reading experiences.
A new methodology for representing the interaction between machines and the interlock signals required in FMCs has been developed. Object-Oriented Philosophies (OOPs) lend themselves to the development of such a scheme. A methodology developed here regards the tasks to be performed by the cell or any of its constituent machines for being primal. Sensory signals indicating the changes of state pf machines are used to trigger or initiate tasks. A task may be simple and require a relatively short time to execute, or may be complex and lengthy. This methodology may be depicated by a set of diagrams called Task Initiation Diagram (TID) and their accompanying rules.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of nursing organization culture on resilience of new nurses. Methods: Participants were 1,033 new nurses with careers of less than 12 months and who were from 43 general hospitals located in Seoul, Incheon, other metropolitan cities and provinces in Korea. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 24.0 program. Results: Relation-oriented culture was scored highest for perception of organizational culture by new nurses (3.35), followed by hierarchy-oriented culture (3.19), innovation-oriented culture (3.12), and task-oriented culture (2.73). The score for resilience of the new nurses was 3.49, and the first subcategories were interpersonal relationship ability 3.66, self-positivity 3.45, and self-control ability 3.36. Relation-oriented culture (${\beta}=.30$, p<.001) was the most significant factor influencing resilience of new nurses, followed by innovation-oriented culture (${\beta}=.14$, p=.001), hierarchy-oriented culture (${\beta}=.12$, p<.001), task-oriented culture (${\beta}=-.10$, p=.003) in that order ($R^2(adj. R^2)=.16$, F=47.04, p<.001). Conclusion: Findings show that for improved resilience in new nurses it is necessary to develop relation-oriented culture to provide a cooperative work environment(friendly interpersonal relation and dialogue) for new nurses and to encourage involvement of these members in the hospital culture.
This study examines the subjective perception of software developers on happiness at work through the Q-sort methodology. Analysis of 63 respondents revealed four types happiness at work with highly differentiated characteristics: 'stability of work oriented', 'defiant self-driven, technology-oriented', 'realistic professionalism oriented', and 'genuinely technology and task-immersion oriented'. The 'defiant self-driven, technology-oriented' and 'genuinely technology and task-immersion oriented' types are interested in latest ICT and consider recognition of one's professionalism as well as self-realization result in happiness at work. On the other hand, the 'stability of work oriented' and 'realistic professionalism oriented' types did not pay much attention to one's growth of technical career but emphasized salary, welfare benefits and job promotion as the most important factors in happiness at work. Today, extraordinary SW developers are a key factor to acquire industrial competitiveness. Nations and corporations should prepare realistic ways to promote overall happiness at work by accurately understanding the varying characteristics and predisposition of domestic ICT personnel. In Korea, it is found that there is a shortage of 'genuinely technology and task-immersion oriented' SW developers. In order to secure national and industrial competitiveness in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, creation of work ecosystem to promote high levels of happiness at work is required to secure quality software production and pride as an ICT professional.
This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of action-observational training and task-oriented training on upper limb function and activities of daily living in patients with post-stroke hemiparesis. This study included 12 voluntary participants with post-stroke hemiparesis. Subjects were randomly assigned to either group 1 or group 2, with 6 in each group. Each subject completed the crossover experiment that comprised of action-observational training (A) and task-oriented training (B). The intervention sequence was A-B for the group 1 and B-A for the group 2. Each training was performed for 30 min a day, 5 times a week for 2 weeks (total experimental period of 4 weeks). Assessments were made using the Wolf Motor Function Test (WMFT) and Modified Barthel Index (MBI) thrice: at baseline, after 2 weeks of intervention, and after 4 weeks of intervention. The results showed that the WMFT and MBI scores significantly improved after the completion of each training (p<.05). Therefore, a determination of the superior training method was difficult. The effect sizes of both groups were greater when performed the action-observational training. The findings suggest that both the action-observational training and task-oriented training may be helpful in improving the upper limb function and activities of daily living for patients with post-stroke hemiparesis, and support the clinical feasibility of the action-observational training.
Objective : This study was examined the effects of task-oriented training therapy after botulinum toxin injection, upper extremity function and activities of daily living for stroke patient. Methods : The subject was a 44 year old male who suffered from hemiplegic patient received a task-oriented training therapy after botulinum toxin injection on involved upper extremity for 30-min sessions 5 times every week during 8 weeks. The scores were obtained before the injection, at 4 weeks, and 8 weeks after the injection. The upper extremity function was assessed using a Manual Function Test and Box and Block Test, and also Modified Barthel Index was applied for evaluation of Activities of Daily Living performance ability. Results : The results of this study show that the subject's In-hand manipulation and dexterity function increase significantly. Also, In activities of daily living, personal hygiene area, feeding area, toilet area, dressing area scores are improved significantly. Conclusion : Through this study, task-oriented training after botulinum toxin injection can improve upper extremity function and Activities of Daily Living performance ability of patient with stroke.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of task-oriented mirror therapy involve visual illusion on upper extremity functions in stroke patients. Method : We divided into two groups that task-oriented mirror therapeutic exercise program include visual illusion and not include. In order to determine the change in upper extremity function, Box & Block Test and Line-bisection Test was evaluated each time period. Result : The result of this study that we found out that all participation's upper extremity function had been improved during the intervention and sustained during baseline regression. Applying mirror therapy program include visual illusion group more improved trend line during the intervention, visual illusion group, it had been shown there are higher difference between visual illusion group and non-visual illusion group in upper extremity functions. Conclusion : It is thoughtful that task-oriented mirror therapy could help for stroke. It might be more effectiveness to apply who have exercise program include visual illusion.
Objective : The purpose of this study is to assess effects of task oriented programme on balance and upper extremity function in stroke patient. Methods : The subject is right hemiplegia with stroke and participated for 6 weeks. The design of study ABA designed of single subject research. The baseline phase consisted of 5 sessions. The intervention phase consisted of 15 sessions and performed task oriented training. The Maintenance phase consisted of 5 sessions. An assessment of upper extremity function was made using a Manual Function Test(MFT) and balance were assessed by the Time Up and Go test(TUG), Nintendo Wii Balance Board Test. Results : Dynamic balance improved from 51.53 to 42.62. At baseline, difference between left and right of the static balance was an average of 13.8, After treatment, the static balance difference was 6.29 and It was closer to zero than baseline, so static balance has been stable feature.
