Organizations continue to invest heavily in the acquisition of knowledge management systems (KMS). The overriding belief is that KMS-task fit will become more productive. A survey of users was conducted to better understand the factors that affect KMS-task fit to better explain KMS performance perspective on knowledge circulation process. This involves stating the research hypotheses among the following constructs: the characteristics of KMS, the fitness of task characteristics, and KMS performance. The findings indicate that the characteristics of KMS positively affect the fitness of task characteristics. The fitness of task characteristics are affecting KMS performance. The results of this study suggest that task-technology fit could be the basis for a strong diagnostic tool to evaluate whether KMS in a given organization are meeting user needs.
This paper analyzes 96 Korean companies to illustrate the relationship between the knowledge management strategies and task characteristics. Knowledge management strategies can be categorized as being codification- and personalization-oriented. Task characteristics are analyzed from the perspective of content-oriented, process-oriented, number of exceptions, and analyzability. These results illustrate how companies should align the knowledge management strategies with task characteristics. It is found that codification strategy is more likely to be associated with high content-oriented and high analyzability task, and personalization strategy is with high process-oriented task. The survey result confirms that managers should adjust knowledge management strategies in view of the characteristics of the task.
Recently, as reinforced water quality standards for wastewater has been announced, more efficient and more powerful wastewater treatment processes are required rather than the existing activated sludge process. In order to meet this demands, we evaluate Task 1-4 about lab scale $A_{2}O$ process using biofilm media. Task 1, 2, and 3 use 'Module A' which has 4 partitions (Anoxic/Anerobic/Oxic/Oxic). Task 4 uses 'Module B' which has 2 partitions including a denitrification reactor with an Inclined plug flow reactor (IPFR) and a nitrification reactor with biofilm media. The denitrification reactor of Module B is designed to be upward flow using IPFR. The result of evaluating at each Task has shown that attached growth system has better capacity of removal efficiency for organic matter and nitrogen with the exception of phosphorus. Task 4 which has the most outstanding removal efficiency has 90.5% of $BOD_{5}$ removal efficiency, 97.8% of ${NH_4}^{+}-N$ removal efficiency, 65% of T-N removal efficiency and 92% of T-P removal efficiency with additional chemical phosphorus removal system operated at HRT 9hr, Qi:Qir 1:2, and BOD/T-N ratio 2.7.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the process of counterfactual reasoning which children undergo, based on mental model theory and dual process theory. The subjects were 120 four-year-olds and 120 five-year-olds from Ulsan. Counterfactual reasoning task conditions were created, including task type and content, which were type 1-specific, type 1-general, type 2-specific, type 2-general. There were two stories used for each task condition. Children's counterfactual reasoning score range was 0 to 8. Data were analyzed using SPSS by mean, standard deviation, one sample t-test, repeated measures of Anova. The results of this study were as follows. First, children's counterfactual reasoning was above chance level regardless of the task condition. Second, children's counterfactual reasoning was lowest when type 1-specific or type 2-specific tasks were given, slightly higher when type1-general tasks were given, and the highest when type 2-general tasks were given. There was no significant difference between 4-year-old and 5-year-old children's counterfactual reasoning.
The purpose of this study was to analyze task performance and importance level of the dietitian who is working in the public health nutrition area. Work oriented job analysis methodology was employed for the study purpose. Subjects of 38 dietitians currently working at health centers in 2002 were recruited. Based on the focus group interview with 7 public health nutritionists and 7 professors, information about task elements was collected. Questionnaires measuring work performance and self-perception of importance of the selected task elements were administered. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1) The tasks with high performance and importance level among 20 tasks are developing nutrition education material (B1), nutrition services for adults and the elderly (C3), writing the proposal for nutrition services (A2), evaluating service effect (A4), improving professionalism (E1), and self management (E2). 2) The task elements with high performance and importance level among weekly task elements are nutrition education for diabetes (C56), nutrition counseling for adults (C47), nutrition for hypertension (C53), managing and keeping records (C80), nutrition education for kindergarten and nursery school children (C42), searching for nutrition education materials (B26), and searching for media (B27). 3) The number of task elements with high performance and importance level among monthly task elements are 13 in the planning and evaluation of public health nutrition service, and 5 in developing nutrition education materials. The tasks of a dietitian in the public health center show a very wide spectrum. However dietitians recognize most of the tasks are important even though they cannot perform those tasks adequately.
The purposes of this study are to investigate the socialization of household task service area and the satisfaction with it, and to find out the factors affecting on them. For these purposes the data are collected by using questionnaire distributed to 450 housewives living in Seoul. The data are analyzed using frequency, percentile, one way anova, pearson's correlation analysis, simple regression analysis, multiple regression analysis. The results of this research are as follow : 1. There are significant differences in the socialization of household task service area according to housewives's education and employment family income, the type of housing the number of household equipment sex role attitude, attitude about household task, and task performance competency. 2. The factors showing significant relation to the satisfaction about socialization of household task service areas are found to be housewife's education and employment family income sex role attitude and task performance competancy. 3. In the result of the independent contribution of the factors, the most influencial factor is the socialization of household task service area and the next is sex role attitude. 4. Housewives are generally satisfacted on the socialization of household task because of the overweight of household task and because they are unable to those household tasks, and on the other hand they are generally dissatisfacted on the socialization of household tasks because of economic weight, because they couldn't know the ability of service export before employing and because the housework practiced by service expert is different from their expects.
In order to examine universal desist I have developed two analytical methodologies based on 3P(point) task analysis: structured task analysis and task matrix analysis. I also extracted me universal design items, namely (1) adjustment (2) redundancy, (3) specification and function transparency, (4) feedback and (5) error tolerance, (6) effective acquisition of information, (7) ease of understanding and judgment (8) comfortable operation, and (9) continuity of information and operation. Structured task analysis is used to uncover problems in each of the tasks constituting a job for each functionally challenged condition of users, and solutions to the extracted problems are examined in terms of the above-mentioned nine universal design items. Task matrix analysis calls for the production of a table for each task in a job. In each table, nine items from the columns, and the horizontal rows list all disability types. Then, solutions are formulated for each cell formed by the intersecting columns and rows. Using these two analysis methods, T have conducted a verification experiment for the universal design of a public bus. The results of the research have enabled me to propose various solutions from a system-based perspective, instead of coming up with the superficial and isolated solutions which are normally produced when conventional analytical methods are used.
As the demand for the design of modular manipulators or special purpose manipulators has increased, task based design to design an optimal manipulator for a given task become more and more important. However, the complexity with a large number of design parameters, and highly nonlinear and implicit functions are characteristics of a general manipulator design. To achieve the goal of task based design, it is necessary to develop a methodology to solve the complexity. This paper addresses how to determine the kinematic parameters of a two-degrees of freedom manipulator with parallelogram five-bar link mechanism from a given task, namely, how to map a given task into the kinematic parameters. With simplified example of designing a manipulator with five-bar link mechanism, the methodology for task based design is presented. And it introduces formulations of a given task and manipulator specifications, and presents a new dexterity measure for manipulator design. Also the optimization problem with constraints is solved by using a genetic algorithm that provides robust search in complex spaces.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of task-oriented circuit training using unstable support surface on balance, gait ability, and balance confidence in subacute stroke patients. Methods : Forty-five patients with subacute stroke were randomly divided into the three following groups of 15: 1) TOCT-US group; task-oriented circuit training using unstable surface (experimental group 1), 2) TOCT-SS group; task-oriented circuit training using stable surface (experimental group 2), and 3) CON group; conventional physical therapy (control group). All patients participated in one of the three training programs for 6 weeks, 30 minutes per session, 3 times per week. Patients' balance ability was assessed using the BT-4, BBS (berg balance scale), TUG (time up and go test), and LOS (limit of stability). Gait speed was measured to examine gait ability. K-ABC (activities-specific balance confidence scale) was also used to assess the level of patients' confidence in daily activities. Results : After the intervention, the sway area in experimental groups 1 and 2 decreased, but that in the control group increased. Experimental group 1 showed significant improvement compared with experimental group 2 and the control group. BBS, TUG, and LOS scores of experimental group 1 were significantly improved compared with those of experimental group 2 and the control group. Also, gait speed significantly improved in experimental group 1 compared with experimental group 2 and the control group. Experimental groups 1 and 2 showed significant improvement in K-ABC scores after training. Conclusion : Patients with subacute stroke had significantly improved balance, gait, and level of confidence in performing activities of daily living following task-oriented circuit training using the unstable surface. This indicates that task-oriented circuit training using unstable surfaces can be an effective treatment method for the recovery of balance and gait in subacute stroke patients.
