  • After introducing iPhone in Korea, the craze for iPhone was perceived to be extraordinaire phenomenon and the mobile businesses and researchers paid attention to it. This research purposes to explore more predictive model that explain to adopt the smartphones in Korea. This research show that all of models, TPB, TAM and the integrated model, are significant to explain intention to use the smartphones. TPB explains the higher than TAM, and the integrated model explains the slightly higher than TPB. These results suggest that researcher explore and build the more predictive model that comprise social influences and personal attributes than TAM that is employed broad to study new information communication systems and devices.

  • This study is design ed to assess Information Technology (IT) acceptance models among Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the revised TAM using structural equation modeling. Research results show that the revised TAM with perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and IT usage variables is slightly outperformed TPB and TAM. From a managerial standpoint, the findings of this study reveal that in order to foster IT usage, it is important to encourage a positive perceived ease of use and usefulness.

  • While smart learning have been introduced for more learning effect, this study is to understand instructor's smart learning acceptance using technology acceptance model(TAM). This study developed the extended TAM model, including external pressure for smart learning and smart self efficacy for smart devices as study variables and attempted to examine the research model through the empirical analysis. The research model has the 7 variables including smart self-efficacy and external pressure. For the empirical study, the survey was conducted for the one month, March, 2016, and the total 143 data among the collected 167 responses were used for the empirical analysis. As the result of the analysis through the structural equation model, the 9 paths among the total 10 paths show the significant relationships between the variables. Through using the result of this study, it is to provide suggestions for the improvement of smart learning environments.

  • This study explored an appropriate research model that could explain and predict the spread of fintech, a new financial services in Korea. We reviewed two theoretical frameworks, theory of planned behavior(TPB) and technology acceptance model(TAM), which are frequently cited to explain human behavior and new technology adoption, respectively. Then, we proposed a decomposed theory of planned behavior(DTPB) as a research model and examined the model through PLS path modeling. As a result, every path except PEOU-ATT path in TAM is significant, and the explanatory power toward behavioral intention(R2=0.573) is also significantly greater in the proposed model. Accordingly, the proposed DTPB is appropriate to explain the spread of fintech in Korea. Finally, suggestions for the following studies are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to test effects of the Triple Abduction Model (TAM) for improving the skills of scientific hypothesis generation in science learning. Twenty-six students were selected for the TAM group and 27 others were selected for a traditional group from one high school. Researchers developed and administered 10 TAM and traditional-style activities. The degree of hypothesis explanation was evaluated during the experimental treatment. Each Subjects' ability in scientific hypothesis generation was assessed by the Science Knowledge Generation Test A and B. Test A was used as a protest and B for a posttest. The results of this study revealed that the degree of hypothesis explanation of TAM was significantly higher than the degree of the traditional group, and the mean of the TAM group was equal to the mean of traditional group on the pretest. Additionally, the mean of the TAM group was significantly higher than the mean of the control group on the posttest. Therefore, instruction with TAM was more effective than the instruction using traditionals method for increasing students' hypothesis generation skills.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that determined the adoption of digital textbook among elementary and middle school teachers, and to propose and validate a revised Technology Acceptance Model. The study was grounded in the innovation diffusion theory and the attribute factors proposed in the theory were used in the model. More specifically, observability, compatibility, and subjective norms were proposed as external factors and usefulness, easy of use, intention to use were proposed as internal factors in the proposed model. It was found that (a) observability, compatibility, and subjective norms were the main external factors that influenced the teachers' intention to use digital textbook and (b) the revised TAM was validated.
