테니스 플랫 서브 동작의 운동학적 분석 (The Kinematic Analysis of the Tennis Flat Serve Motion)

By the comparison and the analysis of the different factors during the tennis flat serve motion such as the required time per section, the movement displacement of the racket, the velocity of the upper limbs joints, the physical center of gravity, and the angle and the angular velocity of the upper limbs joints between an ace player and a mediocre player, these following results were drawn. First, the experiment result of the total time required per section in a tennis flat serve motion showed that an ace player was faster than a mediocre player by 0.4 seconds. This result suggested that it was required to increase the speed of the racket head by a swift swing to perform an effective flat serve motion. Second, the experiment result of the movement displacement of the racket in the tennis flat serve motion showed that an ace player greatly moved toward the left side on an x-axis. But both an ace and a mediocre player were shown to be at the similar points on a y-axis at the moment of the impact of the racket. An ace player was also shown to be located at a higher position on a z-axis by 0.23m. Third, the velocity of the center of gravity of an ace player was faster in every phase than that of a mediocre player in a tennis flat serve motion. Fourth, the velocity of the upper limb joints of an ace player was faster in every phase than that of a mediocre player in a tennis flat serve motion. Fifth, the experiment result of the speed of the racket head in tennis flat serve motion showed that a mediocre player was faster than an ace player in the first phase, but the latter was faster than the former in the second, third, and the fourth phases. Sixth, at the moment of impact of a tennis flat serve, an ace player had greater flexion of the angle of the wrist joints by an 11.8 degree than a mediocre player. An ace player also had greater extension of the angle of the elbow joint and the shoulder joint respectively by a 5.2 degree and a 1.4 degree with a mediocre player. Seventh, an ace player had greater angular velocity of the upper limb joints and the hip joints than a mediocre player at the moment of the impact of tennis flat serve. 화상 정도 및 CAPS 점수에 따른 타액 코티졸의 변화 양상 비교 (Comparison of the Pattern of Changes in Salivary Cortisol by Degree of Burn and CAPS Score)

  • Objective : Cortisol, a product of hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA axis), is one of our defensive mechanisms in response to stress. The level of cortisol in the saliva is a major biomarker of the stress response by HPA axis and shows diurnal variation. We measured salivary cortisol level and its diurnal variation to compare the pattern of changes by degree of burn and Clinician-Administered PTSD Scale (CAPS) score. Methods : We measured the salivary cortisol levels of 37 subjects hospitalized in the burn center at our facility from March to June 2012. Salivary cortisol levels were measured at 6 : 00 AM and at 7 : 00 PM. All subjects were tested for CAPS to evaluate the severity of posttraumatic stress disorder and the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale to evaluate and to control the coexisting depression. Results : Factorial ANOVA test revealed that there was a statistically significant difference in terms of the effect of the interaction between the degree of burn and the patient's CAPS score. Unlike the mild burn group, in the severe burn group, the patients who had a low CAPS score didn't show a normal diurnal variation and the patients who had a high CAPS score showed the normal diurnal variation. After a few months follow up, we found a greater degree of psychiatric complications in severe burn patients that had a lower cortisol stress response. Conclusion : We suppose that the disappearance of the stress response changes in salivary cortisol seen in the severe burn group may be caused by an impaired stress response. Through followed observation of the subjects, this disruption of cortisol response may cause psychiatric problems afterwards.

P3H4 promotes renal cell carcinoma progression and suppresses antitumor immunity via regulating GDF15-MMP9-PD-L1 axis

  • The prolyl 3-hydroxylase family member 4 (P3H4), is associated with post-translational modification of fibrillar collagens and aberrantly activated in cancer leading to tumor progression. However, its role in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is still unknown. Here we reported that P3H4 was highly expressed in renal cancer tissues and significantly positive correlated with poor prognosis. Knockdown of P3H4 inhibited the proliferation, migration and metastasis of renal cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, and also, overexpression of it enhanced the oncogenic process. Mechanistically, P3H4 depletion decreased the levels of GDF15-MMP9 axis and repressed its downstream signaling. Further functional studies revealed that inhibition of GDF15 suppressed renal cancer cell growth and GDF15 recombinant human protein (rhGDF15) supplementation effectively rescued the inhibitory effect induced by P3H4 knockdown. Moreover, decreased levels of MMP9 caused by inhibition of P3H4-GDF15 signaling constrained the expression of PD-L1 and suppression of P3H4 accordingly promoted anti-tumor immunity via stimulating the infiltration of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in syngeneic mice model. Taken together, our findings firstly demonstrated that P3H4 promotes ccRCC progression by activating GDF15-MMP9-PD-L1 axis and targeting P3H4-GDF15-MMP9 signaling pathway can be a novel strategy of controlling ccRCC malignancy.

Interaction of Cu(II)-meso-tetrakis(n-N-methylpyridiniumyl)porphyrin (n = 2,3,4) with Native and Synthetic Polynucleotides Probed by Polarized Spectroscopy

  • The interactions of Cu(II)-meso-Tetrakis(n-N-methylpyridiniumyl)porphyrin (n = 2,3,4), respectively referred to as o-, m- and p-CuTMPyP, and DNA, poly$[d(A-T)_2]$ and poly$[d(G-C)_2]$ were investigated by circular and linear dichroism (CD and LD). In the o-CuTMPyP case, in which the rotation of the pyridinium ring is prevented, the shape of the CD spectrum when associated to DNA and poly$[d(A-T)_2]$ resembles and is characterized by a positive band at a low drug to DNA concentration ratio (R ratio) and is bisignate at a high R ratio. The former CD spectrum shape has been attributed to porphyrin that is bound monomerically outside of DNA while the latter can be attributed to those that are stacked. When o-CuTMPyP is bound to poly$[d(G-C)_2]$, the excitonic CD appeared at a relatively high R ratio. In contrast, a characteristic negative CD band in the Soret region was apparent for both m- and p-CuTMPyP when bound to DNA and poly$[d(G-C)_2]$ at the low R ratios, indicating that the porphyrin molecule intercalates. However, the DNA is bent near the intercalation site and the plane of the porphyrin molecule tilts relative to the DNA helix axis, as judged by the magnitude of the reduced LD. Various stacking patterns were identified by the shape of the CD spectrum for m- and p-CuTMPyP when bound to poly$[d(A-T)_2]$. Three species for the former complex and two for the latter complex were found which may reflect the extent of the stacking.

  • Magnetization studies were conducted on a single crystal of $YNi_{2}$$B_{2}$C superconductor. The 17 mg crystal was studied at temperatures T from above $T_{c}$ (15.5 K) to 3 K, in the magnetic fields H // c-axis up to 6 tesla. The crystal exhibited little magnetic irreversibility, with a critical current density $CO_{3}$ ~ $10^{-4}$ $\times$ $CO_{3}$, the depairing current density. Near $T_{c}$, the equilibrium magnetization M was London-like with M $\infty$ In(H). The upper critical field $H_{c2}$ of the single crystal $YNi_{2}$$B_{2}$C was estimated by the several alternative approaches such as standard London limit, Ginzburg-Landau, and Abrikosov relations. The estimated $H_{c2}$values agree relatively well with each other approaches.

가변 진폭 임계값을 이용한 걸음수 검출 정확도 향상 기법 (Accuracy Improvement Methode of Step Count Detection Using Variable Amplitude Threshold)

  • 본 연구에서는 3축 가속도 측정을 위한 LSM을 개발하고 가변 진폭을 이용하여 걸음수 검출 정확도를 향상시킨 가변 진폭 임계값 알고리즘을 설계하였다. 테스트 프로토콜에 따라 실험하여 수집한 x, y, z 값을 SVM(Signal Vector Magnitude) 알고리즘을 사용하여 하나의 에너지값($E_t$)으로 변환하고 Peak 데이터 검출 알고리즘과 고정 Peak 임계값을 사용하여 평균 99%이상의 정확도로 걸음수를 검출하였다. 그러나 검출한 걸음이 정확한 걸음임을 증명하기 위해 에너지값($E_t$)의 진폭 크기로부터 고정 진폭 임계값을 구하고 노이즈를 필터링 한 결과 걸음수 검출 오차율이 증가하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 오차율을 줄이기 위하여 고정 진폭 임계값이 아닌 데이터를 관찰하여 적응적으로 변화하는 가변 진폭 임계값 알고리즘을 설계하였다. 가변 진폭 임계값 알고리즘을 적용한 결과, 걸음수 검출의 평균 정확도는 샘플링 주기 10Hz에서 평균 98.9%, 20Hz에서는 99.6%로 높아졌다.

  • 사물인터넷 기술을 활용하는 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 사물인터넷을 활용하는 스마트 웨어러블 기기의 상황인식 기능을 향상시키기 위하여 센서부의 이벤트 데이터에 대한 잡음 제거방안을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서는 저역필터를 이용함으로써 비정상적으로 측정된 값에 대한 감쇠를 유도하고 센서의 이벤트 데이터를 이용한 상황 인지에서 유익을 얻을 수 있었다. 스마트 폰과 스마트워치에 기본 내장되어 있는 3축 가속도 센서가 감지하여 보고한 이벤트 데이터를 활용하여 검증한 결과 비정상적으로 과도하게 측정되어 입수된 잡음 값에 대한 값에 대한 감쇠처리를 실행할 수 있었다. 이와 같이 잡음이 제거된 값의 패턴을 분석함으로서 실시간 상황인식에 필요한 다양한 패턴 자료를 얻을 수 있었다.

C3H8-SiCl4-H2 시스템에서 FactSage를 이용한 압력-조성-온도 3차원 상평형도의 응용 (Application of 3-dimensional phase-diagram using FactSage in C3H8-SiCl4-H2 System)

  • In order to deposit a homogeneous and uniform ${\beta}$-SiC films by chemical vapor deposition, we constructed the phase-diagram of ${\beta}$-SiC over graphite and silicon via computational thermodynamic calculation considering pressure(P), temperature(T) and gas composition(C) as variables in $C_3H_8-SiCl_4-H_2$ system. During the calculation, the ratio of Cl/Si and C/Si is maintained to be 4 and 1, respectively, and H/Si ratio is varied from 2.67 to 15,000. The P-T-C diagram showed very steep phase boundary between SiC+C and SiC region perpendicular to H/Si axis and also showed SiC+Si region with very large H/Si value of ~6700. The diagram can be applied not only to the prediction of the deposited phase composition but to compositional variation due to the temperature distribution in the reactor. The P-T-C diagram could provide the better understanding of chemical vapor deposition of silicon carbide.

$MgB_2$ 초전도 박막의 홀 전도도의 온도 의존성 (Temperature dependence of the Hall conductivity in $MgB_2$ superconducting thin films)

  • We have measured the Hall conductivity (${\sigma}_{xy}$) of c-axis-oriented $MgB_2$ thin films as functions of temperatures and magnetic fields. We found that the Hall conductivity (${\sigma}_{xy}$) is expressed by the sum of two terms, ${\sigma}_{xy}=C_l/H+C_3H$, where the coefficient $C_1\;and\;C_3$ are independent of the magnetic fields and have positive values. The coefficient $C_1$ is strongly dependent on the temperature, while the $C_3$ is weakly dependent on the temperature. We have obtained that the $C_1$ is proportional to $(1- T/T_c)^n$ with n = 4.2, which is consistent with the data observed in $La_{2-x}Sr_xCuO_4$ superconductors with low anisotropy ratio.

  • We have investigated the mixed-state magnetoresistance of high quality c-axis-oriented MgB2 thin film for magnetic field from 0.5 T to 5.0 T, applied normal to ab-plane. The temperature dependence of magnetoresistance was well described by vortex glass and fluctuation theories for different temperature regimes. We observed glassy exponent of v(z-1)~3 and upper critical field of $H_{c2}$(0)~35 T, which is consistent with previous data obtained from direct $H_{c2}$(0) measurements. Interestingly, the thermally activated flux flow region was observed to be very narrow, suggesting that the pinning strength of this compound is very strong. This finding is closely related to the recent reports that the bulk pinning is dominant in $MgB_2$and the critical current density of $MgB_2$ thin film is very high, comparable to that of cuprate superconductor. The present results further suggest that $MgB_2$is beneficial to technical applications.ons.
