  • In order to improve the efficiency of optimizing compilers, integration of register allocation and instruction scheduling has been extensively studied. One of the promising integration techniques is register allocation based on register-reuse chains. However, the generation of register-reuse chains in the previous approach was not completely systematic and consequently it creates unnecessarily dependencies that restrict instruction scheduling. This paper proposes a new register allocation technique based on a systematic generation of register-reuse chains. The first phase of the proposed technique is to generate register-reuse chains that are optimal in the sense that no additional dependencies are created. Thus, register allocation can be done without restricting instruction scheduling. For the case when the optimal register-reuse chains require more than available registers, the second phase reduces the number of required registers by merging the register-reuse chains. Chain merging always generates additional dependencies and consequently enforces the execution order of instructions. A heuristic is developed for the second phase in order to reduce additional dependencies created by merging chains. For matrix multiplication program, the number of registers resulting from the first phase is small enough to fit into available registers for most basic blocks. In addition, it is shown that the restriction to instruction scheduling is reduced by the proposed merging heuristic of the second phase.

  • A method for the classification of kinematic chains according to the similarity in their structures is proposed. Classifcation code is defined from the contracted graph of the kinematic chain. This method of classifying kinematic chains can be effectively used for the systematic enumeration of structurally distinct kinematic chains given the number of links and degrees of freedom of the kinematic chains. Two separate steps for the enumeration are developed in the study. The first step is to generated all the possible classification codes and the next step is to generate individual kinematic chains belonging to each classification code generated. Using this two step procedure, kinematic chains up to 12 links are successfully enumerated in the present study. It is concluded that the two step method can be efficiently used for the type synthesis of mechanisms.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to provide a systematic literature review related to environmental upgrading in Global Value Chains (GVCs) and suggest possible future research agendas in advancing environmental upgrading and ultimately GVC boundaries. Research design, data, and methodology - The academic databases such as Science Direct, EBSCO, ProQuest and Google Scholar were explored using a structured keywords searches to identify relevant research in the environmental upgrading area in GVCs. Only relevant papers were selected after reading the abstracts, and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results - Overall analysis of the literature review suggests two critical developments in the field of environmental upgrading. The first and foremost major development is an enhanced understanding of environmental upgrading as a concept and phenomenon. The second significant development is that environmental upgrading has been empirically proven to be fundamentally based on relationships and power structures within GVCs. Conclusions - Environmental upgrading in GVCs has been studied individually and not in relation to financial outcomes and social upgrading. Hence, the relationship of environmental upgrading with financial outcomes and social upgrading needs to be investigated. Furthermore, the impact of the interaction of varying institutional structures on environmental upgrading is worthy of future study.

  • We have explored a strategy to control the supramolecular nano-structures self-assembled from rigid segments through attachment of flexible chains through microphase separation and anisotropic arrangement. Supramolecular structures formed by self-assembly of rigid building blocks can be precisely controlled from 1-D layered, 3-D bicontinuous cubic to 2-D cylindrical structures by systematic variation of the type and relative length of the respective blocks. Furthermore, depending on the individual molecular architectures, rigid building blocks self-assemble into a wide range of supramolecular structures such as honeycomb, disk, cylinder, helix, tube, barrel stave, and nano-cage.

  • Finance Companies are operating a security solution such as E-DRM(Enterprise-Digital Right Management), Personal information search, DLP(Data Loss Prevention), Security of printed paper, Internet network separation system, Privacy monitoring system for privacy leakage prevention by insiders. However, privacy leakages are occurring continuously and it is difficult to the association analysis about relating to the company's internal and external distribution of private document. Because log system operated in the separate and independent security solutions. This paper propose a systematic chains that can correlatively analyze business systems and log among heterogeneous security solutions organically and consistently based on security documents. Also, we suggest methods of efficient detection for Life-Cycle management plan about security documents that are created in the personal computer or by individual through the business system and distribution channel tracking about security documents contained privacy.

  • Android apps are made up of bytecode, so they are vulnerable to reverse engineering, and protection services are emerging that robustly repackage the app to compensate. Unlike cryptographic algorithms, the robustness of these protection services depends heavily on hiding the protection scheme. Therefore, there are few systematic discussions about the protection method even if destruction techniques of the protection service are various. And it is implemented according to the intuition of the developer. There is a need to discuss systematic protection schemes for robust security chains, rather than simple deployment of techniques disrupting static or dynamic analysis. In this paper, we analyze bangcle, a typical commercial Android app protection service, to examine the protection structure and vulnerable elements. We propose the requirements for robust structure and principles of protection structure.

  • Sustainability is considered to be one of the most important social and environmental requirements of modern companies located in global supply chains, since the strong worldwide regulation on carbon emission due to global warming has been emphasized. Sustainable Supply Chain Management(SSCM) could be one of the great alternatives for global companies to maintain a pleasant business environment while fulfilling their social and environmental responsibilities. This paper aims to provide research trends and future directions on SSCM through a systematic literature review. From January of 2004 to May of 2021, 185 English-written and peer-reviewed articles published in eminent journals were selected for the review. The all reviewed papers have been published in SSCI, SCI and SCIE indexed journals and should have accredited by WOS and JCR. A descriptive analysis was followed by a content analysis with regard to research design and methods, and data analysis techniques. We found that the number of research in the field of SSCM have been recently increasing and researchers and their affiliation have been expanding to all over the world, especially to emerging countries. We also found that the rate of the empirical studies and relevant research methodologies applied to the selected papers were relatively high. In the future, it is desirable to be increased the number of the specific industry-oriented research and the quantitative research pursuing the optimality.

  • A linear carbon chain with pure sp hybridization has been intensively studied for the application of its intrinsic electrical properties to electronic devices. Owing to the high chemical reactivity derived from its unsaturated bond, encapsulation by carbon nanotubes (CNT) is provided as a promising method to stabilize the geometry of the linear carbon chain. Although the influence of CNT on the carbon chain has extensively been studied in terms of both electronic structure and geometries, the electron transport properties has not been discussed yet. In this regard, we provide the systematic atomic-scale analyses of the properties of the linear carbon chain within CNT based on a computational approach combining density-functional theory (DFT) and matrix green function (MGF) method. Based on the DFT calculations, the influence of CNT on electronic structures of the linear carbon chain is provided as well as its electrical origin. Via MGF calculations, we also identify the electron transport properties of the carbon chain - CNT complex.

  • Purpose - This article will take the Korean manufacturing industry as an example to estimate Korea's global value chain status from the perspective of overall and sub-industry, hoping to provide a theoretical reference for Korean manufacturing to climb the global value chain. Design/methodology - Based on the WIOD data. The data is calculated by using MATLAB (2014a) coding. The data for 6 sectors are classified according to the International Standard Industrial Classification revision 3 (ISIC Rev. 3), the WIOD data are used to calculate and compare the position, participation and dynamics of the Korea, China and USA' manufacturing industry in the 1995-2016. Findings - The empirical results supported conclusions of the theoretical model. In the Korean GVC of electrical and optical sector, while stronger forward linkages than backward linkages to GVC are advantageous for an average advanced country, the benefits of downstream tasks are pronounced for non-advanced countries. And proved the correlation for an index to capture a country's upstream position or downstream position, it makes sense to compare that Korea's exports of intermediates in the same sector that are used by China and USA. Originality/value - The first is to re-examine the characteristics of South Korea's participation in global value chains under a more systematic and accurate theoretical framework, which provides a new empirical reference for related research; the second is to content covers of the manufacturing 6 sectors, so as to more completely describe the characteristics of Korean manufacturing's participation in global value chains; The value of this paper is providing empirical evidence of the effect of Korea's the GVC of manufacturing sectors. In the GVC of 6 sectors, first three have a higher position in the value chain and are in the upper middle and upper reaches of the GVC. The latter two have a low GVC position index, which has become the main sector that pulls down the overall position of Korea's manufacturing industry.

  • This study provides a systematic review of smart trade contracts, examining the research trends and theoretical background of utilizing smart contracts and blockchain technology for the digitalization and automation of trade contracts. Smart trade contracts are a concept that applies the automated contract system based on blockchain to trade-related transactions. The study analyzes the technical and legal challenges and proposes solutions. The technical aspect covers the development of smart contract platforms, scalability and performance improvements of blockchain networks, and security and privacy concerns. The legal aspect addresses the legal enforceability of smart contracts, automatic execution of contract conditions, and the responsibilities and obligations of contract parties. Smart trade contracts have been found to have applications in various industries such as international trade, supply chain management, finance, insurance, and energy, contributing to the ease of trade finance, efficiency of supply chains, and business model innovation. However, challenges remain in terms of legal regulations, interaction with existing legal frameworks, and technological aspects. Further research is needed, including empirical studies, business model innovation, resolution of legal issues, security and privacy considerations, standardization and collaboration, and user experience studies to address these challenges and explore additional aspects of smart trade contracts.
