A Systematic Categorization of Interior Environmental Design Elements for Improving Sustainability - With Particular Reference to Unit Plan Design Elements of High-rise Apartment - (지속가능한 실내환경디자인 요소의 체계적 분류 - 초고층 아파트 단위 주공간의 디자인요소를 중심으로 -)

  • A sustainable building must produce an interior environment that is safe, healthy, comfortable and supportive of human performance and well-being. The medical human comfort: performance and productivity cost of unhealthy environment may cause much cost for healing. Research that buildings with daylight, fresh air, eco-materials and sustainable interior design are consistently rated as more comfortable and occupants performance, satisfaction and health. This study is to categorize systematically interior environmental design elements for improving sustainability with a view to developing an evaluation model of super high-rise apartment unit plans. With a literature survey and design guide lines concerning sustainable design elements, three hierarchical categorization levels of human, environment, energy and resources systems that consists of upper, middle, low design elements have been proposed. A total of 6 items have been suggested for middle level of categorization and 24 items for lower level. Finally a total of 107 design elements concerning the 24 items and their relationahips have been revealed. The needs for a systematic approach to interior environmental design for sustainability have been discussed.

  • This paper is about that case study of the Tube Transportation System that the new transportation system offering passenger and logistic service in a metropolis having plenty of the floating population or between medium-sized cities, and solving large issues like terrible traffic jams and environmental problems etc. in this region. Also it presented that elicitation results of performance parameter and the categorization system of it applying a systematic analysis methodology. By the medium of this paper, It showed that definition, case study, performance parameters, and the categorization system of parameters of a general tube transportation system before developing requirements of a specific tube transportation system. From now on, it will come in pretty handy in systems engineering of activities to establish a concept of a new tube transportation systems and develop requirements.

Categorizing Sub-Categories of Mobile Application Services using Network Analysis: A Case of Healthcare Applications (네트워크 분석을 이용한 애플리케이션 서비스 하위 카테고리 분류: 헬스케어 어플리케이션 중심으로)

  • Due to the explosive growth of mobile application services, categorizing mobile application services is in need in practice from both customers' and developers' perspectives. Despite the fact, however, there have been limited studies regarding systematic categorization of mobile application services. In response, this study proposed a method for categorizing mobile application services, and suggested a service taxonomy based on the network clustering results. Total of 1,607 mobile healthcare services are collected through the Google Play store. The network analysis is conducted based on the similarity of descriptions in each application service. Modularity detection analysis is conducted to detects communities in the network, and service taxonomy is derived based on each cluster. This study is expected to provide a systematic approach to the service categorization, which is helpful to both customers who want to navigate mobile application service in a systematic manner and developers who desire to analyze the trend of mobile application services.

  • In this study, the plan to construct a disaster information categorization system that can be objectively and efficiently performed was suggested in order to perform disaster management task systematically. Recently, the damage of natural disasters is gradually growing larger and faster, increasing the economic loss. Especially, as for the domestic storm damage, the damage from strong wind was found to be greater than the damage from torrential rain. Also, strong wind was found to be inflicting a great damage on human life, property and agricultural crops, so the necessity to study damage restoration from strong wind is increasing. Nevertheless, the damage items categorized in the domestic disaster year book are often comprehensive or unclear in criteria, and thus fail to reflect items or matters due to actual disaster damage. It is difficult to aggregate damage accurately such that it does not correspond to the national compensation scope or the damage amount is calculated according to subjective judgment of the investigator in charge. As such, if the disaster information management is inadequate by not applying accurate categorization criteria from damage amount calculation, there can be an issue with fairness when paying the damage support aid. Therefore, this study suggested a categorization plan for objective and efficient execution of disaster information management task in order to resolve such issues. It is expected that quick and efficient execution would be possible in disaster information management and task procedure domestically by constructing systematic categorization system related to disaster information.

  • Nursing majors are a combination of theoretical and practical education, and since the advisor cannot participate in all practices in clinical practice, the efficiency and effectiveness of practical education are limited in judging the results according to students' reactions. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the domestic literature on the efficiency of clinical practice of nursing college students.The analysis target was selected through PRISMA flow, and the results were derived through categorization and questioning based on content analysis. Looking at the results, research related to the adaptation of trainees was mainstream, and specifically, research related to the characteristics, conflicts, clinical practice environment, and interpersonal anguish of trainees was conducted. In addition, it was confirmed that active and systematic intervention of practical guidance professors was required, such as possible safety accidents, emotional labor problems, and dilemmas during the practice period. Through this study, it is suggested that a systematic framework for nursing and clinical practice should be prepared.

An Evaluative Framework for Business Information Systems (기업 정보 시스템의 평가를 위한 모형)

  • This paper provides a framework for evaluating business information systems. The framework identifies three evaluation domains: IS business value, IS expenses, and IS functionality. Discussions of each category encompass what to be measured, how to measure, and how to judge the measured value. Then, the framework classifies three categories of individual information systems based on IS life cycle: industry-common, industry-similar, and firm-specific. This categorization is used to match the role of an individual system with the focus of evaluation efforts. The framework can contribute to the systematic design of evaluation programs for business information systems.

  • This study focuses on the categorization of the phenomenon of vegetative recruitment on riparian channels, so called, the phenomenon from "white river" to "green river", and proposes for the corresponding research direction. According to the literature review and research outputs obtained from the authors' previous research performed in Korea within a limited scope, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the recruitment and retrogression of riparian vegetation may be the mechanical disturbance (riverbed tractive stress), soil moisture (groundwater level, topography, composition of riverbed material, precipitation etc.), period of submergence, extreme weather, and nutrient inflow. In this study, two categories, one for the reduction in spring flood due to the change in spring precipitation pattern in unregulated rivers and the other for the increase in nutrient inflow into streams, both of which were partially proved, have been added in the categorization of the vegetative recruitment and retrogression on the riparian channels. In order to scientifically investigate further the phenomenon of the riparian vegetative recruitment and retrogression and develop the working riparian vegetative models, it is necessary to conduct a systematic nationwide survey on the "white to green" rivers, establishment of the categorization of the vegetation recruitment and retrogression based on the proof of those hypotheses and detailed categorization, development of the working mathematical models for the dynamic riparian vegetative recruitment and retrogression, and adaptive management for the river changes.

  • The software pattern is knowledge representation derived from the verified solutions or the experience of the experts. On account of the design varieties of software development, however, it is not the facilitated task to discover the best proper software pattern. This situation requires that software patterns be categorized in terms of their innate concepts. This paper proposes software pattern ontology(SPO) for the systematic categorization of software patterns by means of conceptual properties of patterns after the comparative analysis of association between software pattern and ontology. The SPO presented in this paper can establish the basis for the software pattern management system at the conceptual level. This paper also shows an idea for the application by unifying conceptual properties of software pattern and ontology. 

Dynamic Text Categorizing Method using Text Mining and Association Rule

  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic document classification method which breaks away from existing document classification method with artificial categorization rules focusing on suppliers and has changing categorization rules according to users' needs or social trends. The core of this dynamic document classification method lies in the fact that it creates classification criteria real-time by using topic modeling techniques without standardized category rules, which does not force users to use unnecessary frames. In addition, it can also search the details through the relevance analysis by calculating the relationship between the words that is difficult to grasp by word frequency alone. Rather than for logical and systematic documents, this method proposed can be used more effectively for situation analysis and retrieving information of unstructured data which do not fit the category of existing classification such as VOC (Voice Of Customer), SNS and customer reviews of Internet shopping malls and it can react to users' needs flexibly. In addition, it has no process of selecting the classification rules by the suppliers and in case there is a misclassification, it requires no manual work, which reduces unnecessary workload.

Analysis on Four types of Japanese garden Built in Korea during Japanese Occupation

  • There are remains of Japanese gardens in Korea which were built during Japanese occupation in 1910-1945. However, systematic database has not been established for location, quantity, nor types of remaining gardens. This study is aimed at defining current status of Japanese gardens built in Korea. By categorizing types of remaining these Japanese gardens, we also aimed to build a systematic data base for Japanese gardens in Korea. This study was co-conducted by researchers from Korea and Japan. The team identified 17 Japanese gardens remaining in South Korea and categorized them into 4 groups; 1) Japanese garden built by Japanese in modern Japanese house in South Korea, 2) Japanese garden built by Korean in traditional Korean garden and 3) Garden built by Japanese in temples in Korea. (at request by Koreans). This categorization reveals information about the inflow of Japanese gardening culture into Korea and deserves to be an important part of modern gardening History. And the rest are 4) Japanese gardens built at Korean residence, but with much damage and alternation. In this paper, we present the findings to serve as preliminary data for defining Korean traditional gardens and for utilizing Japanese gardens in Korea as historical and cultural infrastructure.
