Objectives: This study was designed to investigate intestinal immune system activation and anti-metastatic effect on cancer cells by orally administered extracts of Boyanghwano-tang. Methods: To observe immunomodulating effects of Boyanghwano-tang on Peyer's patch cells, we measured cytokines GM-CSF, IL-4. In addition to observing effects of Boyanghwano-tang on hematopoiesis, we measured proliferation of bone marrow cells mediated by Peyer's patch cells in vitro. IgA induction activated in intestinal content and serum was measured to observe the effect of orally administered Boyanghwano-tang on mucosal immune system. After administering ovalbumin (OVA) with Boyanghwano-tang, Proliferation of Peyer's patch cell was measured to investigate gut immunostimulatory effect. Anti-metastatic experiments were conducted in vivo mouse model by using colon 26-M3.1 carcinoma cell. Results: The amounts of GM-CSF and IL-4 in the culture supernatant of Peyer's patch cells were significantly increased compared to the control group. The proliferation of bone marrow cell was significantly up-regualted with Boyanghwano-tang. These results indicate that oral administration of Boyanghwano-tang enhances the secretion of hematopoietic growth factors such as GM-CSF and IL-4 from Peyer's patch cells, and these cytokines also act on modulator of bone marrow cell proliferation. After orally administering OVA with Boyanghwano-tang, IgA induction and Proliferation of peyer's patch cell was up-regulated with Boyanghwano-tang. These results means orally administered Boyanghwano-tang activates intestinal immune system and has an inhibitory effect on tumor metastasis. In addition, We found that orally administered Boyanghwano-tang significantly inhibited tumor metastasis in vivo. Conclusions: Orally administered Boyanghwano-tang appears to have considerable activity on the anti-metastasis by activation of immune system.

Objectives: We aimed to identify. the effect of Jeongcheon-tang(定喘湯) and Cheongsangboha-tang(淸上補下湯) on the transcriptional activities of cytokine IL-4, IL-5, IL-6 and IL-10 involved in asthma model. Materials and Methods: RBL-2H3 cell lines were used. Cells were stimulated with calcium inophore($2{\mu}M$ : Sample group 1, $4{\mu}M$ : Sample group 2) for maximal gene expression. After 3rd treatment of samples and incubation(per 24hours), total cellular RNAs were collected using Trizol solution method. Then transcriptional activities of IL-4, IL-5, IL-6 and IL-10 were measured by RT-PCR with electrophoresis. Results: In IL-4 study, Jeongcheon-tang treated group showed 82.76%(Sample group 1) of transcriptional activities compared to the control group and Cheongsangboha-tang treated groups showed 85.77% (Sample group 1), 89.42% (Sample group 2) of transcriptional activities compared to the control groups. In IL-5 study, Jeongcheon-tang treated groups showed 88.24%(Sample group 1), 98.83%(Sample group 2) of transcriptional activities compared to the control groups and Cheongsangboha-tang treated group showed 73.66%(Sample group 2) of transcriptional activities compared to the control group. In IL-6 study, Jeongcheon-tang treated group showed 92.95%(Sample group 2) of transcriptional activities compared to the control group and Cheongsangboha-tang treated group showed n.40%(Sample group 2) of transcriptional activities compared to the control group. In IL-10 study, Jeongcheon-tang treated group showed 118.46% (Sample group 2) of transcriptional activities compared to the control group. Conclusions: This study shows that Jeongcheon-tang has the inhibitory effect on the transcription of IL-4, IL-5, IL-6 gene expression and the increasing effect on the transcription of IL-10 gene expression, and Cheongsangboha-tang has the inhibitory effect on the transcription of IL4, IL-5 and IL-6 gene expression in RBL-2H3 cell lines. Advanced studies are required to investigate the mechanisms of inhibition or increase by herbal medicine in asthma model.

Objectives: The purpose of this case is to report the effects of Baekho-tang based on Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system. Methods : According to diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, the patient was diagnosed as Gwoleum-byung(厥陰病). Visual analogue scale was used to check the symptoms while the patient taking herbal medicine Baekho-tang for 12 weeks. Results : After taking Baekho-tang, Visual analogue scale in hot flashes markedly decreased 9 to 1. Conclusions : This paper shows an efficient result of using Baekho-tang based on Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system. Further studies should be needed to validate the effects of Baekho-tang.

Objective : This case report evaluated the effect of Saengkangsasim-tang(生薑瀉心湯) on allergic rhinitis. Methods : Two different patients of allergic rhinitis were treated with Saengkangsasim-tang (生薑瀉心湯) in accordance with diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun(傷寒論) six meridian patterns and provisions. Results : After a series of Saengkangsasim-tang treatments, the symptoms of allergic rhinitis patients improved in 2 cases. Conclusions : According to diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun(傷寒論) six meridian patterns and provisions, this case study shows that Saengkangsasim-tang is effective on allergic rhinitis. However further clinical studies in depth are needed.

Objective : This case report evaluated the effect of Soseungki-tang(小承氣湯) on mood disorder. Methods : A patient of mood disorder was treated with Soseungki-tang(小承氣湯) in accordance with Shanghanlun(傷寒論) six meridian patterns diagnostic system. Results : After a series of Soseungki-tang treatment, the symptoms of mood disorder patient improved. Conclusions : According to Shanghanlun(傷寒論) six meridian patterns diagnostic system, this case study shows that Soseungki-tang is effective on mood disorder. However further clinical studies in depth are needed.

Objective : This study aims to explain the effect of Buja-tang on Postherpetic Neuralgia with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which a Soeum-byeong patient has. Methods : This is a case report on a female patient who has been suffering from Postherpetic Neuralgia with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. According to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, Buja-tang was provided for one month. Results : After a series of Buja-tang treatments, the patient's symptoms and result improved. Conclusions : This case study show an effectiveness of using Buja-tang according to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions on Postherpetic Neuralgia with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Objective : This study reports the effect of Bekhogainsam-tang on psoriasis. Methods : This is a case report on a patient who has been suffering from psorasis. According to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, Bekhogainsam-tang was provided for 47 days. The severity of psoriasis was evaluated by PASI score and pictures. Results : After taking Bekhogainsam-tang for 47 days, PASI score decreased $1.4{\rightarrow}0.2$ Conclusions : This case report showed an effectiveness of using Bekhogainsam-tang according to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions on psoriasis.

Objective : This study aims to explain the effect of Soshiho-tang on an nausea which a Taeyangbyeong patient has. Methods : This is a case report on a male patient who has been suffering from nausea which is accompained by anger. According to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, Soshiho-tang was provided for four weeks. Results : After a series of Soshiho-tang treatments, the patient's symptoms and result improved. Conclusions : This case study showed an effectiveness of using Soshiho-tang according to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions on nausea.

Objective : This case report show the effect of Yonggyechulgam-tang on Panic disorder. Methods : The patient was diagnosed Panic disorder based on DSM-5. According to Shanghanlun six meridian patterns diagnostic system, the patient treated with Yonggyechulgam-tang for 4 months. The level of panic disorder was evaluated by VAS and BAI. Results : After the treatment, VAS and BAI decreased $10{\rightarrow}2$, $42{\rightarrow}4$ each. Conclusions : Yonggyechulgam-tang improved the symptoms of Panic disorder on this study. Although Yonggyechulgam-tang is not an usual treatment for Panic disorder, we could prescribe the medicine due to Shanghanlun six meridian patterns diagnostic system.

Objective : This case report aims to show the effect of Bekhogainsam-tang on Overactive Bladder and Rheumatoid arthritis. The patient was diagnosed with Yangmyung-byung based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods : According to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, the patient was diagnosed with Yangmyung-byng and has been unusual dietary habits. So she treated with Bekhogainsam-tang decoction for 75 days. We evaluated the results of treatment by Overactive Bladder Symptom Score(OABSS), Modified Overactive Bladder Validated 8-question Screener(OAB-V8), and Rheumatoid Arthritis Pain Score(RAPS). Results : After taking Bekhogainsam-tang decoction for 75 days, the patient's symptoms and OABSS was decreased from 20 to 11, OAB-V8 was from 42 to 20, and RAPS was from 130 to 63. Conclusions : This case report showed an effectiveness of using Bekhogainsam-tang according to Diagnositic system based on Shanghanlun provisions on Overactive Bladder and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
