Study on the Ways to Improve Cultural Impact Assessment System (문화영향평가제도 개선 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Cultural impact assessment system is a program to improve the quality of people's life by minimizing the negative effects and maximizing the positive effects on the cultural environment when a central government or local governments implement policies or plans. It was introduced in 2013 by Framework Act on the Promotion of Cultural Industries. Now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is promoting a pilot project for cultural impact assessment system to reduce trial and error and settle it as a successful system. This study examined previous studies, international case studies, and various cultural impact assessment systems in oder to successfully seated cultural impact assessment systems and proposed ways to improve evaluations regarding objects, index, process, scale of objects, and evaluation agency. For the system to run smoothly in the future, additional researches are needed on the scale of evaluation objects, setting up detailed evaluation index, the composition of evaluation committee and its operation, and the introduction of cultural impact evaluators.

  • In the accounting information system implementation, the users should consider the benefits and advantages of the system. This paper examines the effect of the Enterprise Resources Planning based (ERP-based) accounting information system implementation on user impact and organizational impact. The population in this study is companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange, especially companies based in Riau, Indonesia. These companies currently use the ERP-based accounting information system. Research samples are employees who use the ERP-based accounting information system. For data analysis, we use structural equation modeling (SEM). Based on data analysis, high-quality information system implementation generate high-quality information that can give satisfaction to the user. Moreover, the information system is related to user skill, satisfaction, and knowledge sharing which improve personal skills; enhanced personal skill contributes to organizational performance. On the other hand, there is no effect of training on personal skills and there is no effect of information quality on perceived usefulness. This research gives implication to the organization for implementing a high-quality ERP-based accounting information system that positively impacts organizational performance. Future research is expected to examine information system implementation in different research objects and conditions.

The Environmental Impact of Automobiles on Sustainable Urban Transportation (자동차가 환경적으로 지속가능한 도시교통에 미치는 영향)

  • As of July 1997, the registered number of automobiles exceeded 10 million and Korean auto industry produced 2,850,000 cars. Many environmentalists warn that the passenger cars are not sustainable urban transportation system in large cities. The cars produce about 80% of air pollutants, and consume 30% of petroleum imported. For the past 30 years the administration increased the road system, but the length of road per car is decreased from 813m in 1965 to 9m in 1995. The cost of traffic congestion was estimated to be \14.7 trillion in 1996, and is feared to increase without changing the present transportation system. The undesirable impact of cars include the casualties from traffic accidents, insurance loss, and separation of human relatioships. To construct sustainable urban transportation system, three principles should be followed. The first principle is to make the urban streets walkable for the people. The second principle is to encourage bicycling. Roads and traffic systems should be designed to let bicylces travel safely. The third principle is to supply more buses and construct integrated transportation system based on buses. The subway system is too expensive to construct and without the support of a well-organized bus system it may not work efficiently. The Brazilian city of Curitiba has constructed a very efficient bus system only with 1/80 of the estimated cost of subway system. The car-oriented transportation system does not seem to be an envrironmentally sustainable transportation system in most of the Korean cities.

  • The importance of cost reduction has grown bigger to ensure the competetive power of products in the electric home appliances industry. Thus, it is necessary to assess the reliability due to drop-impact happenning in process of distribution of microwave ovens with the panel and cavity of thinner thickness for cost reduction. In the present study, the drop/impact simulation using the explicit code LS-DYNA3D has been carried out for improving the impact resistance of a microwave oven. This CAE-based design approach can be successfully applied to enhance the deteriorated dynamic behavior under the impact conditions of dropping height 70cm according to ISTA procedure 2A.

  • Planning Environment Impact Assessment is regarded as one of the most important measures to achieve sustainable development in China. Conduct environment impact assessment for port planning was prescribed by Environment impact Assessment Law of the People's Republic of China. This Paper introduces the basic concept of Planning Environment Impact Assessment and Port Planning firstly, and then discusses the assessment indicators and assessment methods adopted in the Environment Impact Assessment for port planning. At last, the application of the indicators and methods are illustrated in case studies based on the practice on Port Planning's Environment Assessment in China.

  • This paper presents technologies to improve the control of an impact wrench. Impact wrench is a tool which is held by the electro-mechanical manipulator and used to fasten and loosen the bolts for remote maintenance of equipment in hostile environment. Vision system was developed to measure the distance and improve the positioning of the impact wrench. The vision system used two laser beams with a CCTV camera. Also, a torque adjusting method was developed to limit the fastening torque.

  • In this paper, a method of modeling seat belts on crew seat during dynamic seat testing was studied. The body segments of the occupant were modeled with joints. The joints consisted with various stiffnesses, dampings, and frictions. Three types of seat belt restraint systems were investigated. The analysis for on the injury assessment of helicopter's crew under drop impact was conducted. The effectiveness of the seat belt system for crashworthiness and safety was evaluated. As the results of impact analysis, head, neck and spine of the crew can be easily damaged in the vertical direction more than the longitudinal direction. Based on the verified model, behavior of human body was studied with three-point restraint systems. The displacement and injury level of the 12-point restraint system was the smallest.

  • In order to reduce passenger injuries in side collisions, car makers are developing a side impact airbag system while Volvo has already adopted. This study examines dummy injury reduction effect of a side airbag system using full car side impact simulation according to FMVSS 214 test procedure. The simulation result without side airbag shows a good correlation with test data. The folded airbag simulation is carried out to check main design factors. Through the simulation with side airbag module integrated in the seat frame, it is found that the side airbag system provides a substantially enhanced protection for car occupants in side collisions.

  • In this study, the impact analysis for the steel fender system that designed for protection of collision between vessel and bridge was performed The size of objective collision vessel assumed as 3000 dead weight tonnage(DWT). The impact forces and the impact energies were estimated by formulas of several design codes, and the steel fender system was designed based on the estimated forces and energy. The bow of objective vessel was modeled as rigid body, and bridge substructure was modeled as fixed support. Since, the impact analysis have the dynamic nonlinear features, such as, material nonlinear, large deformation and contact, explicit structural analysis program was used The analysis results presented that the impact forces formulas in codes have the sufficient conservativeness.
