실험실 규모 이산화탄소 흡수장치의 연속운전시 모노에탄올아민 열화 특성 (Degradation of Monoethanolamine during Continuous Operation of a Laboratory Scale CO2 Absorption System)

  • Oxidative and thermal degradation of alkanolamines for a promising $CO_2$ capture technology of absorption might cause decrease in $CO_2$ capture efficiency and formation of hazardous byproducts. In this study, characteristics of a representative absorbent of monoehtanolamine (MEA) were examined for a long term operation using a laboratory scale absorption system. An $CO_2$ absorption system with ID 56 mm and absorption zone height 100 cm was developed for the characterization. Absorption solution of 30 wt% MEA was circulated at 100 mL/min to treat air with 15% $CO_2$ and 1 ppm NO at 10 L/min. Temperatures of absorber and stripper were maintained at $40^{\circ}C$ and $120^{\circ}C$, respectively. For the course of 5 weeks continuous operation, MEA concentration was decreased approximately by 70% and $CO_2$ removal efficiency was dropped from 95% to 65%. Ionic byproducts of $NH_4{^+}$, $NO_2{^-}$, and $NO_3{^-}$ were accumulated up to 48 g/mL, 0.2 g/mL, and 1.5 g/mL, respectively, tracking the variation of MEA concentration. Formation of various organic byproducts were also observed.

  • Recent advances in room-temperature, visible and near-IR diode laser sources for telecommunication, optical data storage applications are enabling combustion diagnostics system based on diode laser absorption spectroscopy. In contrast to some traditional sampling-based gas-sensing instruments, tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy system is advantageous because of their non-invasive nature, high sensitivity, fast response time and real-time measurement capability. So, combined with fiber-optics and high sensitive detection strategies, compact and portable sensor system arc now appearing for a variety of applications. The objective of this research is to take advantage of distributed feed-back diode laser and measure the $CO_{2}$ concentration (by using direct absorption and wavelength modulation spectroscopy methods). In addition to survey spectra of $CO_{2}$ bands and spectroscopic parameters between 1565 and 1579 run were computed at temperatures between 296 and 1200 K (by using HITRAN 2000 database). It experimentally found out that the features of direct absorption and wavelength modulation spectroscopy methods.

  • 파력발전시스템의 에너지 흡수 효율은 입사파의 파력과 발전기 구동 동력의 비로 정의된다. 흡수 효율은 파력발전시스템의 동적 거동에 의존하기 때문에 파력발전시스템의 에너지 흡수 효율을 예측하기 위해서 파력발전시스템의 동적 해석이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 에너지 흡수 효율을 예측하기 위하여 파력발전시스템의 동적 해석을 수행하였다. 파력발전시스템의 동적 해석을 위해서 상용 다물체동역학 해석 프로그램인 RecurDyn을 사용하였고, 부유체에 작용하는 파력을 모델링하기 위해서 Morison equation을 적용하였다. 효율분석 결과 파고가 낮고, 주기가 짧을수록 흡수효율이 높아지는 경향을 보인다.

  • Refrigeration plants using absorption principles have been around for many years with initial development taking place over 100 years ago. Although the majority of absorption cycles are based on water-LiBr cycle, many applications exist where ammonia-water can be used, especially where lower temperatures are desirable. In both systems water is used as working fluid, but in quite different ways: as a solvent for the ammonia system, and as refrigerant for the lithium bromide system. This explains that the lithium bromide absorption system is strictly limited to evaporation temperatures above $0^{\circ}C$. The main industrial applications for refrigeration are in the temperature range below $0^{\circ}C$, the field for the binary system ammonia-water.

  • The acoustic absorption of a multiple layer perforated plate system is very good near the resonance frequency region, while it has been regarded as a demerit that its frequency bandwidth is considerably narrow. In order to overcome such a demerit, the parallel perforated plates with different porosities are proposed. The sound absorption of such system composed of a parallel perforated plate is calculated by an equivalent electroatoustic circuit approach and validated by comparing the calculated absorption coefficients with those measured by the two-microphone impedance tube method. The sound absorptive characteristics and performance of parallel perforated plate systems are discussed from a standpoint of frequency bandwidth related with sound absorption.

  • 태양열이용 LiBr-water 흡수식 냉난방시스템의 시간단위의 simulation model을 SuperCalc spreadsheet를 사용해서 제시하였고 전체시스템의 열성능을 분석함으로써 spreadsheet simulation 방식의 가치를 입증하였다. Arizona, Tucson에 위치한 사무실형 건물의 시간단위의 냉난방 부하를 ASHRAE 방식에 의하여 계산하였으며 전체 시스템의 구성요소 및 제어 방식에 대한 알고리즘을 제시하였다. 두 종류의 흡수식 시스템의 열성능을 시스템 매개변수를 이용해서 비교하였다.

Study on the Interaction between Curcumin and Ethylamines by Absorption and Fluorescence Spectroscopic Techniques

  • The interaction between curcumin(1,7-bis[4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl]-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione) and ethylamines was studied in DMSO:$H_2O$(5:1, v/v) using absorption and fluorescence measurements. The association constant, $K_{ass}$, and the Stern-Volmer constants were calculated by the Benesi-Hildebrand and Stern-Volmer equation, respectively. Curcumin displayed marked UV-Vis absorption changes and highly responsive fluorescence quenching in the presence of ethylamine and the quenching ability was enhanced almost linearly with the concentration of ethylamines. The apparent Stern-Volmer constant measured for the ethylamine-curcumin system was about 1000-fold greater than that of the triethylamine-curcumin system, indicating considerably greater quenching efficiency of ethylamines.

  • A diffusion absorption refrigerator is a heat-generated refrigeration system. It uses a three-component working fluid consisting of the refrigerant (ammonia), the absorbent (water) and the auxiliary gas (typically hydrogen). This system has no moving parts and the associated noise and vibration. In this study, the operating characteristics of diffusion absorption refrigerator are investigated through cycle modeling and simulation. System parameters considered in this study are the charged concentration of ammonia aqueous solution, the concentration difference between absorber inlet and outlet and the system pressure determined by the amount of auxiliary gas charged. It was found that there exists a critical value of concentration difference that maximizes the refrigerating capacity. And the lower the system pressure, the higher the refrigerating capacity.

  • Numerical analysis using finite volume method has been carried out to examine the effect of degree of superheat of LiBr aqueous solution on heat and mass transfer occurred in absorption process. According to the result of this study, it was found that refrigerant vaper was generated at the entrance region of absorber when LiBr aqueous soltion was superheated. As the degree of superheat increases, heat transfer rate increases and vapor absorption rate decreases. The increase in averaged Nusselt and Sherwood numbers could be found as film Reynolds number increases. The larger the degree of superheat, the greater the averaged Nusselt and Sherwood numbers.
