The concept of the coverage has been played an important role in the area of reliability evaluation of a system. The widely used measures of reliability include the m time between failures, the availability and so on. In this paper, we propose an estimator of the coverage probability in a redundant system with a control unit and investigate some moments of the proposed estimator. And assuming exponential distribution of all units, we conduct a simulation study for calculating the estimates of the coverage probability and its confidence bounds. An example of evaluating the availability of an optical transportation system is illustrated.

Current low-altitude radar system often fails to detect small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) because of their small radar cross section (RCS) compared with larger targets. As a potential alternative, a passive bistatic radar system has been considered. We study an optimal deployment problem for the passive bistatic radar system. We model this problem as a covering problem, and develop an integer programming model. The objective of the model is to maximize coverage of a passive bistatic radar system. Our model takes into account factors specific to a bistatic radar system, including bistatic RCS and transmitter-receiver pair coverage. Considering bistatic RCS instead of constant RCS is important because the slight difference of RCS value for small UAVs could significantly influence the detection probability. The paired radar coverage is defined by using the concept of gradual coverage and cooperative coverage to represent a realistic environment.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), acting as mobile base stations (BSs), can be deployed in the typical fifth-generation mobile communications (5G) scenarios for the purpose of substantially enhancing the radio coverage. Meanwhile, UAV aided underlay device-to-device (D2D) communication mode can be activated for further improving the capacity of the 5G networks. However, this UAV aided D2D communication system is more vulnerable to eavesdropping attacks, resulting in security risks. In this paper, the D2D receivers work in full-duplex (FD) mode, which improves the security of the network by enabling these legitimate users to receive their useful information and transmit jamming signal to the eavesdropper simultaneously (with the same frequency band). The security communication under the UAV coverage is evaluated, showing that the system's (security) capacity can be substantially improved by taking advantage of the flexible radio coverage of UAVs. Furthermore, the closed-form expressions for the coverage probabilities are derived, showing that the cellular users (CUs)' secure coverage probability in downlink transmission is mainly impacted by the following three factors: its communication area, the relative position with UAV, and its eavesdroppers. In addition, it is observed that the D2D users or DUs' secure coverage probability is relevant to state of the UAV. The system's secure capacity can be substantially improved by adaptively changing the UAV's position as well as coverage.
The aim of this study was to provide size intervals in hand requisite in design of gloves. In this study, a survey was administered to gather information about glove manufacturers' sizing systems. In addition, KS glove standards' size dimensions were analyzed. As well, the ISO hand sizing system was also studied. Based on all the analyses' results, a new glove size intervals were composed. The size comprised the control dimensions of hand length and hand circumference. The size interval was 8mm in hand length and 13mm in hand circumference. The size range was established by making the coverage above 80%. The coverage of the new size interval system for an adult's hand was 86.4% and 13 sizes were suggested. The coverage of the male size system was 86.0% and 10 sizes were suggested. The coverage of the female size system was 87.6% and 8 sizes were suggested. For the unfitted gloves, size ranges based on hand length and hand circumference were developed. For the adults group, S, M, L, and XL were suggested and the coverage of the new size range was 78.8%. For the male group, S, M, and L were suggested and the coverage was 82.3%. For the female group, S, M, and L were also suggested and the coverage was 81.3%.
Remote sensing data processing and analysis system can be developed based on the Grid Coverage Specification and this kind of system is also can be easily interoperate with GIS systems conforming OpenGIS specification. This paper proposes a method to implement easily and quickly the new grid coverages that provide new operations, or services, by reusing the existing grid coverage components, which is based on the fact that the pipeline constructed by grid coverages can be represented in one grid coverage. This method complements easily the deficiency of the existing grid coverage components and enables quick implementation of the new grid coverage that provides complex processing operations.

The similarity weight, the pearson's correlation coefficient, which is used in the recommender system has a weak point that it cannot predict all of the prediction value. The similarity weight, the vector similarity, has a weak point of the high MAE although the prediction coverage using the vector similarity is higher than that using the pearson's correlation coefficient. The purpose of this study is to suggest how to raise the prediction coverage. Also, the MAE using the suggested method in this study was compared both with the MAE using the pearson's correlation coefficient and with the MAE using the vector similarity, so was the prediction coverage. As a result, it was found that the low of the MAE in the case of using the suggested method was higher than that using the pearson's correlation coefficient. However, it was also shown that it was lower than that using the vector similarity. In terms of the prediction coverage, when the suggested method was compared with two similarity weights as I mentioned above, it was found that its prediction coverage was higher than that pearson's correlation coefficient as well as vector similarity.

This paper presents an analysis of coverage and capacity for the multi-layer CDMA cellular system. The multi-layer CDMA system that shares a common frequency band consists of macrocells for outdoor users and picocells for indoor users. Though macrocells and picocells interfere with each other the capacity of the whole system can be increased, We have analyzed the effect of muual interference upon cell coverage soft handover areas and capacities. The parameters involved in the engineering of the system are discussed. The study results sow that we can control the service coverage of indoor picocells with the system parameters set properly. It is also show that the capacity of the whole system that the capacity of the whole system can be enhanced smoothly by deploying the indoor picocells within existing macrocells.

In this paper we analyze the performance of a DS/CDMA system in LEO mobile satellite channels. The channel uses the Extended Suzuki model which is the product of a Rician distribution having a LOS component and a lognormal distribution due to shadowing. We assume that the signal transmitted from the satellite to the mobile undergoes the same fading for the whole coverage of signal's beam. The average bit error probabilities of double coverage system is calculated in this paper. The interference resulting from the reference satellite is calculated for mobile located in the middle of the double coverage region whereas the additive interference from next-satellite is included for mobile located in the edge of the double coverage region. The performance of the mobile's receiving signal is dependent on shadowing and the interference of the next-satellite. We can obtain an obtain an improved average bit error probability by using dual diversity over the conventional correlated receiver for similar shadowing conditions in the coverage area of the satellite channel.

Mobile Multi-hop Relaying (MMR) system can provide increased system capacity of wireless access network by coverage extension and enhanced transmission rate within the Base Station (BS) coverage area. The previous researches for the MMR system with a non-transparent mode Relay Station (RS) do not consider channel selection procedure of Mobile Station (MS), co-channel interference and Multi-hop Relay Base Station (MR-BS) coverage and RS coverage ratio in MMR system. In this paper, we investigate the performance of MMR uplink system in multicell environments with various topologies. The performance is presented in terms of call blocking probability, channel utilization, outage probability and system throughput by varying offered load. It is found that, for certain system parameters, the MMR uplink system achieve the maximum system throughput when MR-BS coverage to RS coverage ratio is 7.
This study evaluates the performance of the packed bed scrubber and proposes the optimization of spray system for improvements of collection efficiency. The packed bed scrubber is used primarily in the semiconductor manufacturing process. The mean diameter of entering solid particles in scrubber is the submicron. The impaction between water droplets and solid particles is an important factor in removing the solid particles. Thus, the coverage area of spray system influences on the collection efficiency. The collection efficiency of a single droplet is calculated through the mathematical model and numerical calculations are performed for coverage area for each nozzle type (Droplet diameters: 500, 319.5, $289.5{\mu}m$) and injected directions (0, 15, $30^{\circ}$). In case of nozzle type 3, the collection efficiency of a single droplet is highest but the collection efficiency of spray system has lowest value because the ratio of flow rate between the gas and water is below 0.1. The results show the coverage area ratio is about 85% in the case of nozzle type 3 and downward sirection $15^{\circ}$. It was shown that a coverage area increase by two times than an existing spray system. In simulation of demister, collection efficiency by demister is predicted about 80% and the pressure drop in demister is below 3.5 Pa.
