  • This study is about fault detection and fault area detection of LV circuit in Cab Cubicle system which have control of train to keep safety in High Speed Train. LV circuit is operated with diagnosis system like safety system. In this paper, we suggest a design and an implementation method to detect fault or to detect fault area automatically about LV circuit. The implemented system is tested successfully after implementation of some function. We expect reduction to diagnosis area or repair time by fault area module

  • The damage scale and damage area in the coast have been increased dramatically because of calamities such as typhoon. tidal wave. flood and storm. Especially. 409 cases. which reach to about $40.9\%$ of natural disasters of 1,000 cases for the recent 15 years have happened on coast area. More than $40\%$ of natural disasters also occurred every year is happening in coastland. Therefore, there is a great need to construct all related GIS database such as atmospheric phenomena (typhoon. tidal wave, flood and storm). harbor facility, harbor traffic and ebb and flow. Furthermore. the certain system should be developed and integrated with NDMS (National Disaster Management System) by using 3D web GIS technology. In this study. the coast disaster area management system was designed and developed by using 3D web GIS technique so that the coast disaster area could be monitored and managed in real time and in visual. Finally. the future disaster in coast area could be predicted scientifically.

Analysis of Power System Wide-Area Blackout based on the Fault Cascading Scenarios (고장파급 시나리오에 기초한 광역정전 해석기법 연구)

  • This paper presents a novel framework for analysis of power system wide-area blackout based on so called fault cascading scenarios. For a given power system operating state, "triggering" faults or a "seed faults" are chosen based on the probabilities estimated from the hazard rates. The fault probabilities reflect both the load and the weather conditions. Effects of hidden failures in protection systems are also reflected in establishing the fault propagation scenarios since they are one of the major causes for the wide-area blackouts. A tree type data structure called a PS-BEST(Power System Blackout Event Scenario Tree) is proposed for construction of the fault cascading scenarios, in which nodes represent various power system operating states and the arcs are the events causing transitions between the states. Arcs can be either probabilistic or deterministic. For a given initial fault, the total probability of leading to wide-area blackout is estimated by aggregating the individual probability of each fault sequence route leading to wide-area blackout. A case study is performed on the IEEE RTS-79(24 bus) system based on the fault data presented by the North American Electrical Reliability Council(NERC). Test results demonstrate the potentials and the effectiveness of the proposed technique for the future wide-area blackout analysis.

A Study on the Economic Evaluation with Super-Micro Fuel Cell Home Cogeneration System by Varying the Floor Area of House (주택면적의 변화에 따른 가정용 초소형 연료전지 코제너레이션 시스템의 경제성 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The fuel cell system is environment-friendly and energy efficient system. Especially, the fuel cell cogeneration systems providing heat and electricity to buildings have been developed and applied to a lot of sites in the world to cope with the global warming and $CO_2$ emission problem. This paper presents the result of study on the economic evaluation with super-micro fuel cell (SMFC) cogeneration system by varying the floor area ($132m^2{\sim}331m^2$) of the house, whose system capacity ranges from 0.10 kWe to 0.50 kWe. The electricity demand, heat demand, saved energy cost, and the simple pay-back period have been simulated for the various capacities of fuel cell cogeneration system. As a result, this study suggests the fuel cell system’s capacity decision strategy for a given house area. Contrary to conventional design assumptions, the smaller capacity fuel cell cogeneration system is appropriate for the house of large floor area to defense the progressive electricity tax, and the larger capacity fuel cell cogeneration system is appropriate for the house of small floor area to sell the electricity.

  • The frequently flooded area has been known as very vulnerable area. This area has nature disasters such as typhoon, storm and flood almost every year. The purpose of this study is to develop a management system for frequently flooded area by Web based. So this system is possible to disaster management which irrespective of time and place. Through this system, general user can easily retrieve status information and obtain that in visual way such as maps. graph, and texts if they have only certain web browsers.

  • Now, the population and economical power is deeply concentrated to Seoul-metropolitan region, therefoere the provinces is so lagging behind and the country cannot get balance development. And, like metropolitan region, the more outer the living area of local wide-area city is spreading, the more serious wide-region transportation problems are. But the railroads near wide-area city fun seldom commuter train, so they cannot absorb the transportation demand of wide-area city metropolitan region. To solve above transportation problem, local wide- area cities try to make a subway or a light rail transit. But it is so difficult because the limit of public finance and original small capacity of light rail. In the paper, I propose 'Local city wide-area electric railways' system of the consortium of 'Local wide-city and province transportation union', Korean National Railroad (KNR) and local capital. A 'Local wide-city and province transportation union' operates commuter railways directly using the facilities of KNR, and local capital invests to the stations of above railways system. Therefore the commuter railway system around local wide-city region will be constructed quickly and the stations will be the strong point of local development and investment.

  • There are plenty of optimization models for the signal-system of a single intersection and area traffic. Some of those models are adopted for the real traffic signal control system. The simulators for a single crossroad have been developed, so that we could evaluate optimization models and traffic control systems. However, the simulators for the area traffic are still being developed. Therefore, there are some limitations in the analysis and evaluation for area traffic control systems, The area traffic is consist of several intersections interconnected which are very complicated and many traffic strategy are adopted for the control system. This paper features an effective area traffic control system by High Lever Architecture(HLA) which is a new developed simulation tool. In this paper, we discuss the design of HLA-based area traffic control simulation. We describe technical motivations for the HLA, the key elements of the architecture and how they are minimum and essential to the goal of reuse and interoperability.

  • Recently, after Wide Area Outage of the North-Eastern United States occurred, many countries started to be concerned about WAMS (Wide Area Monitoring System), and Korean power system also experienced Wide Area outage according to typhoon Mae-Mi, and Haenam-Jeju HVDC line fault. Since it is too difficult to detect a symptom based on SCADA or EMS, a defense system of electric power infrastructure has required. In this research, the designed and developed system processes the time synchronized real time power system information based on GPS and shows the 2D/3D monitoring viewer using the phasor data and the results of three algorithms.

  • Recently, ecological area rate system become effective due to enlargement of recognition and high intellectual standard and for ecological circulation in urban areas. Ecological area rate system is to control environmental quality of life what has grown worse in urban districts and corresponds to purposes of green building certification criteria for environmentally sound and sustainable development. Therefore, purposes of this study are to present suggestions through research of theory and comparison between ecological area rate system and green building certification criteria.
