A wireless sensor network approach to enable location awareness in ubiquitous healthcare applications

  • In this paper, we outline the research issues that we are pursuing towards building of location aware environments for mainly ubiquitous healthcare applications. Such location aware application can provide what is happening in this space. To locate an object, such as patient or elderly person, the active ceiling-mounted reference beacons were placed throughout the building. Reference beacons periodically publish location information on RF and ultrasonic signals to allow application running on mobile or static nodes to study and determine their physical location. Once object-carried passive listener receives the information, it subsequently determines it's location from reference beacons. The cost of the system was reduced while the accuracy in our experiments was fairly good and fine grained between 7 and 12 cm for location awareness in indoor environments by using only the sensor nodes and wireless sensor network technology. Passive architecture used here provides the security of the user privacy while at the server the privacy was secured by providing the authentication using Geopriv approach. This information from sensor nodes is further forwarded to base station where further computation is performed to determine the current position of object.

신경망과 유한요소법을 이용한 단조품의 초기 소재 형상 결정 (Determination of Initial Billet Size using The Artificial Neural Networks and The Finite Element Method for a Forged Product)

  • In the paper, we have proposed a new method to determine the initial billet for the forged products using a function approximation in the neural network. The architecture of neural network is a three-layer neural network and the back propagation algorithm is employed to train the network. By utilizing the ability of function approximation of a neural network, an optimal billet is determined by applying the nonlinear mathematical relationship between the aspect ratios in the initial billet and the final products. The amount of incomplete filling in the die is measured by the rigid-plastic finite element method. The neural network is trained with the initial billet aspect ratios and those of the unfilled volumes. After learning, the system is able to predict the filling regions which are exactly the same or slightly different to the results of finite element simulation. This new method is applied to find the optimal billet size for the plane strain rib-web product in cold forging. This would reduce the number of finite element simulation for determining the optimal billet size of forging product, further it is usefully adapted to physical modeling for the forging design.

  • In this paper we propose the Multi-FNN (Fuzzy-Neural Networks) for optimal identification modeling of complex system. The proposed Multi-FNNs is based on a concept of FNNs and exploit linear inference being treated as generic inference mechanisms. In the networks learning, backpropagation(BP) algorithm of neural networks is used to updata the parameters of the network in order to control of nonlinear process with complexity and uncertainty of data, proposed model use a HCM(Hard C-Means)clustering algorithm which carry out the input-output dat a preprocessing function and Genetic Algorithm which carry out optimization of model The HCM clustering method is utilized to determine the structure of Multi-FNNs. The parameters of Multi-FNN model such as apexes of membership function, learning rates, and momentum coefficients are adjusted using genetic algorithms. An aggregate performance index with a weighting factor is proposed in order to achieve a sound balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. NOx emission process data of gas turbine power plant is simulated in order to confirm the efficiency and feasibility of the proposed approach in this paper.

심해 환경 하에서 내파 충격파를 받는 내압 선체의 동적 좌굴 평가 기법 (Dynamic Stability Assessment of Pressure Hull in Deep Sea against Implosion Pressure Pulse)

  • In this study, the dynamic structural behavior of pressure vessels due to pressure pulse initiated by implosion of neighbouring airbacked equipments including Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUV), sensor system, and so on were dealt with for the structural design and safety assessment of pressure hulls of submarine. The dynamic buckling and collapse responses of pressure vessel in deep sea were investigated considering the effects of initial hydrostatic pressure and fluid-structure interactions. The governing equations for circular cylindrical shells were formulated theoretically assuming a relatively simple displacement fields and the derived nonlinear simultaneous ordinary differential equations were analysed by developed numerical solution algorithm. Finally, the introduced safety assessment procedures for the dynamic buckling behaviors of pressure hulls due to implosion pressure pulse were validated by comparing the theoretical analysis results with those of experiments for examples of simple cylinders.

시계열 자료 분석을 통한 4대 사회안전지표 변화 추이 (Transition of Four Major Social Safety Indexes by Time Series Data Analysis)

  • 해마다 반복적으로 인적 물적 피해를 유발하여 사회 안전에 큰 영향을 미치는 산업재해, 교통사고, 화재, 범죄 등의 항목을 4대 사회안전지표로 선정하여 2003년 이후 시계열에 따른 변화 추이를 분석하였다. 2003년을 기준으로 산업재해가 27.8% 감소하여 가장 두드러지게 개선된 것으로 확인되었으며, 교통사고와 범죄자표는 12% 정도 저감된 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 화재의 경우 2006년 이후 국가화재분류체계가 바뀌면서 경미한 생활 화재도 발생건수에 포함되도록 변경되어 기준년도 대비 40% 화재안전지수가 증가한 것으로 나타났다.

  • 본 논문에서는 웹 서비스 기술을 적용한 새로운 URC 로봇 원격 제어 및 모니터링 기법을 제안한다. URC 로봇은 유비쿼터스 환경에서 외부 세계와의 다양한 인터페이스를 지원하기 위하여 이 기종 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 플랫폼에 두루 적용될 수 있는 구조가 요구된다. 본 논문에서 웹 서비스 기술을 임베디드 환경에 최적화하고, 외부 응용 에이전트들과 상호 작용을 지원 할 수 있는 웹 서비스 기반의 로봇 원격 제어 방법을 설계 및 구현한다. 본 연구의 결과는 시뮬레이션을 거쳐 URC 로봇인 NETTORO에 탑재 및 운용하여 실용적 가치를 검증하였다.

  • The study is about the process of modernization of conventional rural houses in Kyung-gi province. It alms to identify the pattern of change, particularly focusing on the changes of the site plan and plan. The site of study is Samga Village, in YongIn County, near Seoul. The study discusses the process of modernization during the three decades from 1960 to 1980. The basic information was obtained through field research and site analysis, and the study relies predominatly on observational and statistical analysis. Four developmental stages can be clearly identified which are ; (1) Traditional type, (2)Modified-traditional type, (3) Saemaul type, and (4) The type of urban houses. The analysis was done through identification of changing site plan and plan. It is interesting to note that the changes of these elements show a certain pattern of sequential steps which also can be classified according to the four developmental stages mentioned above. The pattern of site design was consistantly maintained while plan and building system became very different However, the process of modernization of Korean rural houses was the process of producing a certain type of architecture that is not universal but uniquely Korean.

전역적 비동기 지역적 동기 시스템을 위한 고성능 비동기식 접속장치 (A High Performance Asynchronous Interface Unit for Globally-Asynchronous Locally-Synchronous Systems)

  • GALS(Globally-Asynchronous Locally-Synchronous) 시스템은 대규모의 칩 설계 시에 설계의 용이성과 신뢰성을 확보할 수 있는 구조로 주목 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 GALS 시스템에 필수적인 비동기 접속장치를 제안한다. 접속 장치는 크게 센더 모듈과 리시버 모듈로 구성되어 있으며, 센더 모듈에서는 부분적으로 내부 클록과는 무관하게 데이터 전송이 가능하다. 0.25um 공정의 게이트 레벨 표준 셀 라이브러리를 사용하여 설계하였고, 성능 향상 정도를 시뮬레이션을 통하여 예측할 수 있었다. 마지막으로, 접속장치를 장착한 GALS 구조의 예제 회로를 설계하여 올바르게 동작함을 확인하였다.

소형주택의 친환경건축물 인증기준 개선방향에 관한 연구 -LEED for Homes와의 비교를 중심으로- (A Study on the Improvement of the Green Building Certification Criteria for Detached Houses - Focusing on Comparisons of LEED for Homes -)

  • The purpose of this study is to generate implications for the Green Building Certification System(GBCS) for detached houses, by comparing LEED for homes. Detached houses were added to the GBCS and took an effect this year. They are evaluated by the GBCS under special conditions, because they are designed by small architectural offices with limited budget. In this respect, this paper points out the problems of the GBCS for these detached houses and highlights some areas to be improved. As the first step, the definition of sustainable building and the design method of green building were investigated. By doing so, this study acknowledges the potential analysis methods in making valid comparisons with LEED for homes. Secondly, this study makes a comparative analysis of the GBCS for detached houses and the GBCS for apartment houses, LEED for New Construction(NC) and LEED for houses. Lastly, it identifies the problems and suggests better ways to improve the GBCS for detached houses through integrated analysis of the GBCS and LEED.

  • As with the January 2005 amendment of the Act on Private Participation in Infrastructure, schools are now included in the scope of privately-funded infrastructure projects. According to the announcement made by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in 2007, a total of 1.1 billion-won stimulus package has been proposed and is being implemented to operate private investments in social infrastructure helping to secure sufficient educational facilities for a period of five years from 2005 to 2010. Private participation offers first-priority infrastructure in a timely manner, raises efficiency with creative project conception and design, and stimulates economy by tapping into unemployed fund. This study limited its scope to new school construction projects in Gyeonggi Province which have been implemented via BTL system since January 2005. And using field-inspection and interview techniques, the study proposed improvement schemes applicable to the field. The results will be fully incorporated into new school construction projects to be carried out in the future, to help build creative learning space-student-oriented quality structures-where in Korea's leaders of the 21st century knowledge-based society will be educated.
