  • L-serine으로부터 광학 활성을 가지는 2-amino-3-phosphonopropionic acid를 새로운 방법으로 합성하였으며 2-amino-3-(diethylphosphono)-propionic acid methyl ester를 아미노산과 축합시켜 광학 활성을 갖는 새로운 포스포노트리펩티드를 합성하였다.

A New Synthesis of Triphenylphosphorane Ylide Precursors to α-Keto Amide/Ester and Tricarbonyl Units via Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons Reaction

  • Newly developed Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons (HWE) reagents 5 having triphenylphosphorane ylide subunits readily condensed with various carbonyl compounds under mild reaction conditions to afford $\beta,\gamma$-unsaturated $\alpha$-keto triphenylphorane ylides in good to excellent yields, which were hydrogenated over Pd-C (10%)/$H_2$ (1 atm) to give the corresponding $\alpha$-keto triphenylphorane ylides in quasi-quantitative yields. These triphenyphosphorane ylides have been utilized as the precursors to $\alpha$-keto amide/ester and vicinal tricarbonyl units in Wasserman's synthetic protocols, and have previously been prepared only from carboxylic acids/acid chlorides. Our new approaches provide excellent alternatives for the synthesis of triphenylphosphorane ylide precursors to $\alpha$-keto amide/ester and vicinal tricarbonyl units directly from carbonyl compounds in good to excellent yields.

대두유 에스테르계 절연유의 합성과 분석 (Study on the synthesis and characterization of soybean based transformer oils)

  • Electrical insulation is one of the most important parts in a high voltage apparatus. Traditionally mineral oils and synthetic esters have been widely used as dielectric coolants for power transformers. Recently, researchers are interested in the environmental friendly vegetable oil from environmental viewpoint. This paper reports on the synthesis and characterization of soybean based ester oils. Two different types of soybean based transformer oils, named as methyl ester and isopropyl ester were synthesized. The synthesis of these esters was achieved by transesterification reactions of soybean oil and alcohol in the presence of catalyst. The GC and NMR spectroscopic analysis of the esters have been performed. The thermal stability of the esters was determined by thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA).

  • The numbers of synthetic greases have been developed with synthetic oils because of their excellent performance factors including thermal/oxidation stability, low-temperature fluidity and plastic compatibility. Long life under high-temperature condition and excellent low-temperature fluidity are required to serve as grease for bearings of engine room electrical component. As many plastics are used in place of metals for the purpose of weight saving, synthetic hydrocarbon grease is in use to avoid adverse effect on plastics. Other various special synthetic greases are also in use depending on specific requirements like conductivity and vacuum condition.

  • 합성윤활유(synthetic lubricant)라 함은 현재까지도 계속되고 있는 광유(mineral oil) 전성시대의 광유에 대응되는 말로써 광유계 윤활유로 부터 얻기 어려운 높은 점도지수, 우수한 저온 유동성 등의 특성을 얻기 위해 유기합성방법에 의해 인위적으로 제조한 윤활유의 총칭이며 작용기의 종류, 합성방법, 등에 따라 다양하게 분류된다. 합성윤활유의 종류에는 합성방법에 따라 폴리머형(P형), 비폴리머형(N형)으로 대별되는데, 폴리머형 합성유에는 poly-butene, poly-$\alpha$-olefin, Polyalky lenglycol, Silicon oil, Chlorofluorocarbon, Perfiuoroalkylpolyether 등이 있으며, 비폴리머형 합성유에는 Alkylbenzene, Dibasicacidester, Polyolester, Silicate-ester Polyphenylether, Complex ester 등이 포함된다. 전자의 경우에는 중합반응 조건을 조절하므로써 여러점도 등급의 합성유들을 얻을 수 있는 반면 후자의 경우에는 분자량이 크지 않으므로 저점도의 것만 얻어지는 것이 특징이다.

  • The recent development of biodegradable polymers for drug delivery system (DDS) has been investigated. The biodegradable polymers for DDS are mainly discussed in two categories: one category is natural biodegradable polymers such as polysaccharides, modified celluloses, poly(${\alpha}$-amino acid)s, modified proteins, and microbial biodegradable polymers; the other is synthetic biodegradable polymers such as poly(ester)s, poly(ortho ester)s, poly(phosphazene)s, poly(anhydride)s, poly(alkyl cyanoacrylate)s, and multiblock copolymers. The bioconjugate polymeric drug delivery systems have been also proposed for the design of biocompatible polymeric controlled drug delivery.

  • A new synthetic route to chiral liquid crystal dopant, 4-[2-(7S-methylnonanyl)oxy-5-pyrimidinyl]phenyl(2S,3S)-2-chloro-3-methylpentanoate (1), starting from 4-nitrophenylacetic acid is described. The key intermediate methylthiopyrimidine compound (8) has been synthesized from 4-nitrophenylacetic acid by Vilsmyer-Haack reaction followed by the formation of pyrimidine ring, and then converted to chiral ester (1) by the replacement of nitro group by (2S,3S)-2-chloro-3-methylpentanoic acid 2 through the formation of diazonium salt.

  • Antiwear(AW) properties of phoshphonic acid derivatives for trimethylolpropane (TMP) esters were investigated under boundary conditions. AW effect of dialkyl phosphonates depends on polarity of base fluid. They provide good AW performance in less polar TMP esters, whereas their AW effect is not sufficient in polar TMP esters. Amine salts of phosphonic acid were developed as new AW additiνe system for TMP esters. They provide excellent AW performance even in polar TMP esters.

  • A synthetic route to (+)-isocarbacyclin starting from (-)-tricyclo[3.3.0.0$^{2.8}$]octan-3-one 6 is described. The key intermediate 4 has been synthesized from 6 by a sequential introduction of methoxycarbonyl group at C-12 and the oxygen functionality at C-9${\alpha}$(PG numbering) for the construction of ${\alpha}-and\;{\omega}$-side chain, and then converted to isocarbacyclin methyl ester 2.

특성별 그리이스의 수명과 열화특성 연구 (Grease Life and Degradation Characteristics in Rolling Bearing Lubrication)

  • High performance characteristics are required for rolling bearings and the various functions of bearing are greatly influenced by grease. Recently, higher performance is being demanded of rolling bearing greases for bearing lubrication. Four special greases with different composition such as lithium soap/ester oil, urea/ester oil, urea/ether oil and PTFE/fluorine oil were synthesized to compare the performance of these greases with that of the conventional lithium soap/mineral oil grease. The grease properties were investigated using a series of typical grease testing methods and grease life test. After the life test, the greases were charaterized by FTIR analysis and a microscope. And the iron amount in the greases was analyzed by AAS after ashing. The composition and manufacturing process determined the grease performance. The grease with a base oil of synthetic oil showed higher performance and the urea/ester oil and PTFE/fluorine oil showed about three times longer life as compared with conventional lithium grease.
