밀리미터파 탐색기용 도파관 광벽 종방향 슬롯 배열 안테나 (Longitudinal Shunt Slot Array Antenna in the Broad Wall of Waveguide for Millimeter-Wave(Ka-Band) Seeker)

  • 본 논문에서는 Ka-대역 모노 펄스 레이더용 도파관 광벽 슬롯 배열 안테나의 설계, 제작 및 측정 결과에 대해 기술하였다. 설계 방법으로는 개구면의 분포를 원하는 이득과 빔 폭 및 SLL을 고려하여 설계하였고, 등가 회로에서의 각 슬롯의 어드미턴스에 해당하는 도파관 슬롯의 옵셋과 길이를 Elliott 배열 합성 기법을 통해 구하였다. 설계한 도파관 슬롯 배열을 CST MWS로 해석한 결과, 주어진 대역폭 내에서 -10 dB 이하의 반사 손실, 32 dBi 이상의 이득, 3.7도의 3 dB 빔 폭, -20 dB의 SLL 결과를 얻었다. 또한, 설계한 안테나의 제작과 측정을 통하여 시뮬레이션 결과를 확인하였다.

Using an Evaluative Criteria Software of Optimal Solutions for Enterprise Products' Sale

  • Purpose - This study focuses on the use of evaluative criteria software for imprecise market information, and product mapping relationships between design parameters and customer requirements. Research design, data, and methodology - This study involved using the product predicted value method, synthesizing design alternatives through a morphological analysis and plan, realizing the synthesis in multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM), and using its searching software capacity to obtain optimal solutions. Results - The establishment of product designs conforms to the customer demand, and promotes the optimization of several designs. In this study, the construction level analytic method and the simple multi attribute comment, or the quantity analytic method are used. Conclusions - This study provides a solution for enterprise products' multi-goals decision-making, because the product design lacks determinism, complexity, risk, conflict, and so on. In addition, the changeable factor renders the entire decision-making process more difficult. It uses Fuzzy deduction and the correlation technology for appraising the feasible method and multi-goals decision-making, to solve situations of the products' multi-goals and limited resources, and assigns resources for the best product design.

Triticum aestivum (Wheatgrass) formulation: An alternate treatment for the patients with Thalassemia

  • We have developed the tablet formulation of Triticum aestivum (wheatgrass) and investigated clinically, its effects in patients suffering from b-thalassemia (major) at K. T. Children Hospital, Civil Hospital, Rajkot. The tablets (wheatgrass powder 250 mg.) were given 3 times in a day for 9 months. Blood samples were collected at the start, after 6 months and 9 months and analyzed for various biochemical and hematological parameters. Treatment with wheatgrass formulation for 9 months produced significant decrease in hemoglobin, total RBC, eosinophil and reticulocyte counts. The mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) were significantly increased was significantly increased. The serum ferritin was also significantly decreased. There was no influence on serum magnesium, serum iron and Thiobarbituric acid reacting substances (TBARS). Our data indicate that treatment with wheatgrass on patients with $\beta$-thalassemia (major) may have beneficial effects in the form of a decrease in ineffective erythropoiesis, stimulation of hemoglobin synthesis in RBC, decrease in iron load and decrease in eosinophil count.

재조합 단백질 생산을 위한 곤충세포의 배양 (Insect Cell Cultures for Recombinant Protein Production)

  • 실험실 규모의 배양기에서 곤충세포의 배양을 수행하였다. 회분식 배양에서의 곤충 세포의 성장은 serum의 농도, 다른 영양소, 초기 정종 농도, 기계적인 교반파 같은 변수에 의해 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. Lactate와 ammonium은 회분식 배양에서의 말기에 관찰되는 농도에서는 세포의 성장을 저해하는 원인은 아닌것 같았다. 또한. redox potential은 공충세포의 배양 용존산소를 측정할 수 있는 좋은 index 임을 알 수 있었다. 아울러 유전공학적으로 재조합된 baculovirus를 곤충세포에 감염시켜 재조합 단백질의 생산을 시도하였으며 dilution rate 가 $0.006\;hr^{-1}$일때 반응기당 최대 2800 units 의 beta-galactosidase 가 생산되었다.

  • HDTV의 다음세대 TV로서 주목받고 있는 3D TV의 구현을 위한 주요 기술중 보는이의 시점에 해당하는 영상을 보여주는 다시점 입체영상표시가 중요한 연구대상으로 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다시점 입체영상표시를 구현하기 위한 기존방법들의 문제점으로 지적되는 많은 연산량 문제를 해결할 수 있는 새로운 알고리즘을 제안한다. 다시점 영상모음을 영상 공간축에서 을로 다운 샘플링(down sampling )하여 다해상도 영상 피라미드를 만들고, 이를 바탕으로 저해상도 EPI에서부터 대응점들을 탐색하고, 그에 해당하는 상위 해상도에서는 하위 해상도에서 탐색한 결과를 확인·교정해 가는 방법을 사용하므로써, 기존의 방법보다 고속처리가 가능하며, 잡음에도 강인한 기법을 제안한다.

Optimization of Culture Conditions for D-Ribose Production by Transketolase-Deficient Bacillus subtilis JY1

  • D-Ribose is a five-carbon sugar used for the commercial synthesis of riboflavin, antiviral agents, and flavor enhancers. Batch fermentations with transketolase-deficient B. subtilis JY1 were carried out to optimize the production of D-ribose from xylose. The best results for the fermentation were obtained with a temperature of $37^{\circ}C$ and an initial pH of 7.0. Among various sugars and sugar alcohols tested, glucose and sucrose were found to be the most effective for both cell growth and D-ribose production. The addition of 15 g/l xylose and 15 g/l glucose improved the fermentation performance, presumably due to the adequate supply of ATP in the xylose metabolism from D-xylulose to D-xylulose-5-phosphate. A batch culture in a 3.7-1 jar fermentor with 14.9 g/l xylose and 13.1 g/l glucose resulted in 10.1 g/l D-ribose concentration with a yield of 0.62 g D-ribose/g sugar consumed, and 0.25 g/l-h of productivity. Furthermore, the sugar utilization profile, indicating the simultaneous consumption of xylose and glucose, and respiratory parameters for the glucose and sucrose media suggested that the transketolase-deficient B. subtilis JY1 lost the glucose-specific enzyme II of the phosphoenolpyruvate transferase system.

Improving the Precision of Specifications by Evaluating the Influence of Test Parameters on Tribological Results - A Synthesis from a Series of International - Round Robin Tests -

  • A series of cooperative interlaboratory tests (round robins) was conducted in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 by the DIN 51834 Working Group on Tribological Tests in Translatory Oscillation Apparatus. The statistical analysis of these test results shows the influence of cleaning solvent, machine model and evaluation criteria on the tribological properties of the lubricants tested. Coefficients of friction and wear results are ranked according to the effects of ten different cleaning solvents, where isopropanol gave the lowest values and isoparaffin solvents the highest. The effect of machine model on coefficients of friction varied from about $0.2\%\;to\;0.9\%$ of the mean. Wear results were not affected. The tests also showed that the seizure criteria and methods of measuring wear required for in the test procedure do not provide a suitable measure of the tribological properties of some lubricants. The precision was Improved by introducing a grease apply caliper as well as an increased stroke to 1,5 mm and running-in. The temperature does not affect the precision of the oil test procedure.

앙상블 유출 예측기법을 적용한 하천 수질 예측 (Water Quality Forecasting of the River Applying Ensemble Streamflow Prediction)

  • Accurate predictions about the water quality of a river have great importance in identifying in-stream flow and water supply requirements and solving relevant environmental problems. In this study, the effect of water release from upstream dam on the downstream water quality has been investigated by applying a hydological model combined with QUAL2E to Geum River basin. The ESP (Ensemble Stream Prediction) method, which has been validated and verified by lots of researchers, was used to predict reservoir and tributary inflow. The input parameters for a combined model to predict both hydrological characteristics and water quality were identified and optimized. In order to verify the model performance, the simulated result at Gongju station, located at the downstream from Daecheong Dam, has been compared with measured data in 2008. As a result, it was found that the proposed model simulates well the values of BOD, T-N, and T-P with an acceptable reliability.

Palladium Layers on an Au(111) Nanoparticle and Their Catalytic Activity to Formic Acid Oxidation

  • Nanoparticles have been received great attention from many researchers for several decades because of their good and unique properties. In particular, researches in the field of synthesis of bimetallic nanoparticles showed good results for the past ten years. In this research, Pd thinlayer on Au nanoparticles were synthesized by electrochemical deposition method. Well-defined Au(111) nanoparticles were synthesized by solution based reduction method. Electrochemical deposition conditions for Pd thinlayer on Au(111) nanoparticles surface were carefully regulated by controlling parameters of cyclic voltammetry. To calculate exact mass and surface area catalytic activities of deposited Pd thinlayer on Au(111) nanoparticle, electrochemically active surface area (ECSA) and mass of the deposited Pd thinlayer were measured by cyclic voltammetry in 0.1 M HClO4 solution. Afterward, catalytic activities of the deposited Pd thinlayer were measured in 0.1 M HClO4 + 0.2 M formic acid solution. In case of less negative deposition potential, the amounts of deposited Pd mass and surface area were small. However, mass and ECSA activity of the deposited Pd to oxidize formic acid were increased.

  • 본 연구는 다공성 입자에 전도성 단량체를 침투시켜서 전도성 고분자 복합체를 제조하는 연구로 다단계 seed 중합법을 이용하여 입자를 제조하고, 용매추출법으로 선형 고분자를 제거하는 방법으로 specific pore volume 및 specific surface area가 각기 다른 다공성 입자를 제조하였고, 이 다공성 입자를 모체 고분자로 하여 도핑제를 산화용액에 녹여 흡수시키고 건조한 뒤 전도성 단량체를 유기용매에 녹여 다공성 입자에 침투시킨 후 중합하여 전도성 복합체를 제조하였다. 이때, 모체 고분자에 침투되는 전도성 단량체의 농도 및 유기용매와 산화제의 산화용매 등을 중합 변수로하여 이 변수들과 전도도와의 상관 관계를 살펴보았다.
