To overcome the profitability challenge these days, many global banks are increasingly focusing on cost efficiency through more efficient banking processes, such as online and mobile banking, whereas a number of other banks choose to differentiate their services for retaining and attracting the most valuable customer segment (Deloitte, 2011). While global banks in the retail banking industry are adopting either of these two business models as a strategic choice for their long-term growth, KB Kookmin Bank, one of the leading retail banks in South Korea, has begun to operate 'KB Rockstar' as a strategic channel, particularly designed to target college students in the youth market. The new marketing strategy has resulted in a positive impact on its brand image in customers' perception as well as a drastic increase in the number of youth customers. In this study, we analyze the case of 'KB Rockstar' and summarize the key factors for its success from a marketing perspective. First, 'KB Rockstar' is not simply a good channel strategy, but an innovative marketing strategy that aligns place, product and promotion together in order to create a synergy effect, resulting in the successful implementation of the bank's targeting strategy. Second, the strategy effectively establishes 'KB Rockstar' as a brand targeted to youth customers while also competently strengthening the image of the corporate brand, KB Kookmin Bank. The skillful implementation of organically combined marketing mix strategies has enabled the successful launch of the bank's sub-brand. Third, the strategy considers a retail bank branch as not only the place that makes sales transactions in order to generate short-term profits, but also the place that builds a long-term relationship with customers in order to maximize their lifetime values in the long run.
The technological development in the era of the 4th industrial revolution is changing the paradigm of various industries. Various technologies such as big data, cloud, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and the Internet of Things are used, creating synergy effects with existing industries, creating radical development and value creation. Among them, the logistics sector has been greatly influenced by quantitative data from the past and has been continuously accumulating and managing data, so it is highly likely to be linked with big data analysis and has a high utilization effect. The modern advanced technology has developed together with the data mining technology to discover hidden patterns and new correlations in such big data, and through this, meaningful results are being derived. Therefore, data mining occupies an important part in big data analysis, and this study tried to analyze data mining techniques that can contribute to the logistics field and common logistics using these data mining technologies. Therefore, by using the AHP technique, it was attempted to derive priorities for each type of efficient data mining for logisticalization, and R program and R Studio were used as tools to analyze this. Criteria of AHP method set association analysis, cluster analysis, decision tree method, artificial neural network method, web mining, and opinion mining. For the alternatives, common transport and delivery, common logistics center, common logistics information system, and common logistics partnership were set as factors.

In response to the growing focus on products utilizing character IP in retail, this study investigated the impact of consumers' recollection of character IP fashion products on brand relationship formation. Furthermore, it explores the moderating effect of consumer preferences for collaboration series on this relationship. Participants were consumers who recalled character IP fashion products, and the analysis was conducted using PLS-SEM. The findings show that consumer recollection associated with character IP in fashion products positively affects brand attachment, leading to a positive impact on brand attitude and brand loyalty. The study also highlights the effectiveness of repeated exposure to similar products as an effective marketing strategy. Furthermore, a positive synergy between brand attachment and preferences for collaboration series enhances brand loyalty by influencing consumer attitudes. The study suggests that collaboration series marketing strategies affect consumers' perceptions of novelty and alter their expectations. This research has significant academic and practical implications, demonstrating the effectiveness of marketing through collaboration series and revealing how character IP in fashion products, commonly used by fashion brands, shapes brand-consumer relationships. The findings provide a robust theoretical foundation for marketing strategies leveraging character IP.
It is commonly acknowledged that bone morphogenic protein (BMP-2) functions as a potential osteogenic inducer in bone formation. Recently, several papers reported that bone marrow-derived stem cell (BMSC) from human is not responsive to BMP-2 in comparison to high capacity of BMP-2 in the osteoinduction of stromal cell derived from bone marrow of rodent animals such as rat or mouse. In this study, we characterized BMSC derived from 11 years old donor for the responsiveness to rhBMP-2, dexamethasone (Dex) and 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D (vitamin D), in order to analyze their function in the early osteogenesis. The effect of over mentioned agents was evaluated by means of assessing alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity/staining, RT-PCR analysis and von Kossa staining. In addition, we analyzed the meaning of expressed several osteoblastic markers such as alkaline phosphatase, collagen typeI, osteopontin, bone sialoprotein and osteocalcin with relation to either differentiation or mineralization. Only in the presence of Dex, human BMSC could commit osteoblastic differentiation and matrix mineralization, and either BMP-2 or vitamin D treatment was not able to induce. But BMP-2 or Vitamin D showed potential synergy effect with Dex. ALP and bone sialoprotein were clearly expressed in response of Dex treatment compared to weak expression of osteopontin in early osteogenesis. Therefore, we expect that this study will contribute partly to elucidiating early osteogenesis mechanism in human, but variations among bone marrow donors must be considered through further study.
The factors affecting the long-term design strength of geogrid can be classified into factors on creep deformation, installation damage, temperature, chemical degradation and biological degradation. Especially, creep deformation and installation damage are considered as main factors to determine the long-term design strength of geogrid. Current practice in the design of a reinforced soil structures is to calculate the long-term design strength of a geosynthetic reinforcement damaged during installation by multiplying the two partial safety factors, $RF_{ID}$ and $RF_{CR}$. This method assumes that there is no evaluation of synergy effect between installation damage and creep deformation of geogrids. This paper describes the results of a series of experimental study, which are carried out to assess the combined effect of the installation damage and the creep deformation for the long-term design strength of geogrid reinforcements. A series of field tests was carried out to assess installation damage of various geogrids with respect to different fill materials, and then creep tests are conducted to evaluate the creep deformation of both undamaged and damaged geogrids. The results indicated that the tensile strength reduction factors, RF, considering the combined effect between the installation damage and the creep deformation is less than that calculated by the current design method.
Utilization of cultural contents is more and more increasing as it is believed to improve local problems and provide historical values. This kind of business is positive in terms of the fact that it attracts visitors into local areas and activate local commercial areas. Under this trend, the construction of specialized streets is required to be approached with first priority to solve problems of cities. So to speak, it's more important to solve intrinsic problems found in local communities and then approach cultural contents step-by-step rather than constructing new spaces with first priority. Moreover, cultural contents should accompany economic aspects which result in local community-friendly and sympathetically concentrated values. Under this sentiment, the efforts to suggest economic ripple effects for government local government's businesses using cultural contents are very important. This study analyzed how much economic ripple effects is yielded by reflecting cultural contents. As the result of analysis, specialized street with cultural contents applied are proved to be more concentrated on multiplier of expediting employment, income and tax and tourism industry than service industry. On the contrary to this, service industry showed more concentrated multiplier of expediting production, income, added values and chain reaction effect (coefficients for influence and sensitivity for front and rear side of tourism industry. Based on these results, construction of specialized streets with cultural contents applied is proved to help synergy effects for local economy.
Currently, various treatments available for alleviating hair loss and combination treatments are commonly used, which are frequently questionable and in effective. We aimed to investigate the synergistic effect regarding the combination of oral herbal composition and topical hair tonic on anagen induction and hair restoration in a shaving model of C57BL/6 mice. Seven-week old mice were trimmed by electric clippers and treated with oral herbal composition and topical hair tonic either alone or in combination. The combination treatment showed the highest hair growth promoting effect. Moreover, it significantly improved total blood antioxidant capacity and reduced lipid peroxidation and triglyceride level, which was not observed in the topical hair tonic treated group. These results suggest that the combination of oral herbal composition and topical hair tonic has a synergistic hair growth promoting effect and such synergism may be the result of the differing hair regrowth mechanisms concerning treatments.
Objectives Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a human pathogen and a major cause of hospital-acquired infections. New antibacterial agents that have not been compromised by bacterial resistance are needed to treat MRSA-related infections. In this study, we investigated the antimicrobial activity ofethanol extract of Haedokgeumhwa-san (HGH) which prescription is composed of korean medicine against MRSA. Methods The antibacterial activity of HGH extract was evaluated against MRSA strains by using the Disc diffusion method, broth microdilution method (minimal inhibitory concentration; MIC), checkerboard dilution test, and time-kill test; its mechanism of action was investigated by bacteriolysis, detergent or ATPase inhibitors. The checkerboard dilution test was used to examined synergistic effect of ampicillin, oxacillin, ciprofloxacin, vancomycin, gentamicin and norfloxacin in combination with HGH ethanol extract. A time-kill assay was performed a survival curve which was obtained by plotting viable colony counts depending on time on bacterial growth. Results The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of ethanol extract (HGH) ranged from 1,000 to $2,000{\mu}g/mL$ against all the tested bacterial strains, respectively. We are able to confirm that HGH extract has potentially strong antibacterial activity. In the checkerboard dilution test, fractional inhibitory concentration index of HGH in combination with antibiotics indicated synergy or partial synergism against S. aureus. A time-kill study showed that the growth of the tested bacteria was considerably inhibited after 8 hr of treatment with the combination of HGH with selected antibiotics. For measurement of cell membrane permeability, HGH $250{\sim}1,000{\mu}g/mL$ along with concentration of Triton X-100 (TX) and Tris-(hydroxymethyl) aminomethane (Tris) were used. In the other hand, N,N-dicyclohexylcarbodimide (DCCD) and Sodium azide ($NaN_3$) was used as an inhibitor of ATPase. TX, Tris, DCCD and $NaN_3$ cooperation against S. aureus showed synergistic action. Accordingly, antimicrobial activity of HGH was affected by cell membrane and inhibitor of ATPase. Conclusions These results suggest that Haedokgeumhwa-san extract has antibacterial activity, and that HGH extract offers a potential as a natural antibiotic against MRSA.
Preservative effects of natural preservatives, citric acid and salt on chopped garlic were investigated. Citric acid was very effective for the repression of bacteria multiplying and browning of chopped garlic in 0.5%~1% concentration. Salt had an effect on the repression of bacteria multiplying and browning color of chopped garlic except for 1% NaCl. Synergy effect between citric acid and NaCl was also very good for the decreasing of bacteria multiplying and the maintaining of Hunter color of chopped garlic. Compounded effect among the GF, CA and ascorbic acid was somewhat proper in the sensory evaluation of chopped garlic. And the sensory evaluation score was best in chopping size 3mm(diameter) of chopped garlic and viscosity 4500cp. of chopped garlic.

To extend the shelf-life of freshly cut lotus roots, the effect of their heat treatment in water at $50^{\circ}C$ was investigated and compared with that of their treatment using 1 percent ascorbic acid and citric acid during their storage. In addition, consecutive heat and acid treatment was applied to freshly cut lotus roots to determine its synergy effect. The level of molds in the sample that was treated with $50^{\circ}C$ water for 60 minutes was the lowest among the treatments and 3.89 log CFU/g after 12-day storage, whereas the population of the control was 6.81 log CFU/g for the same number of days. During the storage, the surface color of the samples showed higher ${\Delta}E$ values and lower L values than that of the initial sample. The color with the heat treatment hardly changed, unlike in the control. The consecutive treatments with hot water and acid showed less quality loss than the simple heat treatment. The marketable quality was maintained for three days without any treatment, for nine days with the heat treatment, and for 12 days with the consecutive treatments of hot water and acid. The consecutive treatments with hot water and acid, especially with 1 percent citric acid, extended the shelf-life of the freshly cut lotus roots by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms and the browning.
