동해안에 서식하는 참가자미(Pseudopleuronectes herzensteini)의 해역별 산란특성 비교 (Comparison of the Spawning Characteristics of the Yellow Striped Flounder Pseudopleuronectes herzensteini in the Coastal Waters off Gangwon and Gyeongbuk, Korea)

  • We investigated the maturity and spawning of the brown sole Pseudopleuronectes herzensteini, in the coastal waters of the East Sea off Gangwon and Gyeongbuk, South Korea, using samples collected by gill net and longline fishery from January 2018 to December 2019. We analyzed oocyte development, monthly maturity stage, gonadosomatic index (GSI) and total length at maturity. Histological analysis of ovarian development in P. herzensteini revealed that the development was group-synchronous. The spawning peak in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk occurred from April to May and from February to March, respectively. Thus, the spawning season in Gangwon was 1-2 months later than that in Gyeongbuk. The length at 50% maturity for females was estimated as 24.2 cm and 19.0 cm in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk, respectively. Similarly, the length at 50% maturity for males was estimated as 19.8 cm and 16.5 cm in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk, respectively.

  • The propulsion Motor system has changed from the DC motor system to the induction motor system. Although the induction motor system has almost reached the stage of maturity, this system also need changed to the IPMSM system for direct drive without reduction gear. Thus, the IPMSM(Interior buried Permanent magnet synchronous Motor) has been adopted to meet the driving specification. In this paper, loss characteristic analysis of IPMSM has been performed using adopted F.E.M.

Identification of Adaptive Traits Facilitating the Mechanized Harvesting of Adzuki Bean (Vigna angularis)

  • Traditional germplasms are unsuitable for mechanized production, limiting adzuki bean production. The creation of cultivars that can be harvested by mechanized means is an urgent task for breeders. The bottom pod height (BPH), lodging resistance, and synchronous maturing of adzuki beans are critical factors for the reduction of losses due to mechanized harvesting. In this study, 14 traits of 806 adzuki bean accessions were analyzed. All growth stages and the yield, lodging score, and synchronous maturing correlated negatively with the BPH. These negative correlations reflect the increased difficulty of breeding to simultaneously satisfy the needs for no lodging, high synchronous maturing rates, BPHs > 10 cm, and high yield. We screened three germplasms with no lodging, high synchronous maturing rates, and BPHs > 10 cm that were used as mechanization-adapted breeding material for crossing with high-yield cultivars. Agronomic trait diversity in adzuki beans was also examined in this study. Principal component and cluster analyses were conducted for 806 germplasms resulting in three clusters with the yield and three growth stage traits serving as the main discriminating factors. Cluster 1 included high-yield germplasms with the number of pods per plant and the number of seeds per pod being the major discriminant factors. Cluster 2 included germplasms with long growth periods and large 100-seed weights while cluster 3 contained germplasms with high BPHs. In general, the characteristics that make mechanical harvesting feasible and those assessed in this study could be utilized to choose and enhance adzuki beans production.

  • 연구는 기름가자미의 성비, 군성숙도 및 주 산란기에 관한 정보를 얻기 위해 수행하였다. 성비(암:수)는 1:0.54 (n=189:103, 암컷 64.7%)였으며, 전장이 증가함에 따라 암컷의 비율이 높아지는 경향을 보였다. 난모세포 발달패턴은 동일 난소 내에서 여러 단계의 난모세포군이 확인되는 난군동기발달형이었다. 로지스틱 회귀모델에 의해 분석된 50% 성숙 전장은 암, 수 각각 28.51 cm과 30.49 cm였다. GSI는 암, 수 각각 4월과 3월에 가장 높았으며, 주 산란기는 4-5월로 분석되었다.

Variations of Gonadotropin Subunits mRNA Levels at Different Stages of Ovarian Development in Masu Salmon, Oncorhynchus masou

  • The variations of gene expression and pituitary contents of GTH subunits during the ovarian development of masu salmon, Oncorhynchus masou, were investigated. The pituitary GTHs contents was measured by radioimmunoassays (RIAs) using purified GTH subunits and their antibodies. Pituitary contents of GTH $I\beta$ gradually increased from April through August, and reached the maximum in October. On the other hand, pituitary contents of GTH $II\beta$ remained low until August, but they rapidly increased in October. Total RNAs were prepared from pooled pituitaries and the GTH subunits mRNA in pituitaries was quantified by Northern blot hybridization using masu salmon cDNA probes for each GTH subunit. GTH $I\beta$ mRNA level increased with the progression of ovarian maturity. However, GTH $II\beta$ mRNA was detected only at a more advanced stage, and were extremly high at ovulation. A high levels for GTH a mRNA was detected only at ovulation stage. The synchronous increase in pituitary contents and mRNA levels suggested that ovarian maturity in masu salmon was regulated by both GTH I and GTH II.

한국산 녹색 말거머리 (Whitmania edentula)의 정자형성에 관한 미세구조 (Ultrastructural Study on the Spermatogenesis of the Korean Leech, Whitmania edentula)

  • The spermatogenesis of korean leech, Whitmania edentula was observed, using both light and electron microscopes. The spermatogonium and maturing spermatozoon are connected with long cytoplasmic process to the cytophore, which supplys nutrition to the germ cells and supports synchronous maturity. The truck of korean leech is divided into three regions; a long ladder-shaped acrosome and head, long middle piece and long tail. Long head region twists to the dextral helix, and nuclei are surrounded with microtubules (manchette).The nebenkern formed with long mitochondrion exists in the middle pieces, and a long tail of Whitmania edentula ($9\times2+1$ axoneme) differs from the $9\times2+2$ axoneme of Rhynchobdellae. The late cytophore is mostly formed with crystalloid matter and a number of lysosomes, and matured spermatozooms are engulfed into the late cytophore.

주둥치 Leiognathus nuchalis의 생식생물학적 연구 (Reproductive Biology of the Slimy, Leiognathus nuchalis(Teleostei: Leiognathidae))

  • 주둥치의 암 수 성비는 1.81 : 1로 암컷의 비율이 높게 나타났다. 난모세포 발달양식은 난군동기발달형에 속하며, 정소 조직상은 정원세포 국재형에 속한다. 암 수 모두 첫 번째 군 성숙에 도달하는 크기는 전장 7.5 cm로 조사되었다. 암컷의 생식소중량지수(GSI)는 7월에 12.83으로 가장 높았고, 9월에는 1.08로 가장 낮았다. 수컷의 GSI는 6월에 19.0으로 가장 높았고, 10월에 0.24로 가장 낮았다. 암컷의 간중량지수(HSI)는 GSI와 같은 경향의 변화를 보였다. 가슴반점지수(TSI)는 생식소의 성숙 및 완숙시기인 5월부터 7월 사이에는 낮은 값을 보였다. 암컷의 생식주기는 성장기 (3~5월), 성숙기(5~6월), 완숙 및 산란기 (6~8월), 회복기 (8~11월) 그리고 휴지기 (11~3월)로 구분할 수 있었다. 수컷의 생식주기는 분열증식 및 성장기 (1~4월), 성숙기 (4~5월), 완숙 및 방정기(6~8월), 회복기 (8~10월) 그리고 휴지기(10~12월)로 구분할 수 있었다.

  • 난소의 내부는 결체성 조직인 다수의 난소박판으로 구성되며, 이곳에서 난원세포가 유래한다 정소조직상은 정세관 형태이며, 각각의 정세관은 여러 개의 소낭구조를 가진다. 각 소낭내의 생식 세포들은 같은 단계의 발달상태를 보인다. 군 성숙도에 도달하는 크기는 암${cdot}$수 모두 전장 4.5 cm이다. 암컷의 GSI는 6월에 가장 높은 값을 나타냈으며, 수컷의 GSI는 7월에 가장 높은 값을 나타냈다. 생식주기는 성장기 ($1{\~}3$월), 성숙기 ($4{\~}5$월), 완숙 및 산란기 ($6{\~}7$월) 그리고 회복 및 휴지기 ($8{\~}12$월)로 나눌 수 있었다. 난모세포 발달양식은 난군동기발달형에 속하며, 초기 성장기 난모세포의 세포질에서 난황핵이 관찰되었다.
