Red pepper (Capsicum annum L.) roots and soils representing different agricultural management practices such as conventional (CON), no-chemical (NOC), and organic farming systems (ORG) were collected from 32 farm field sites in Kyunggi, Korea to investigate the effects of these agricultural practices on arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) symbiosis. ORG inoculum significantly increased plant growth compared to inoculum from CON and NOC. A community analysis of AM fungi (AMF) using morphological features of spores revealed that AMF spore abundance and species diversity were significantly higher in ORG than in CON. Additionally, a community analysis of AMF colonizing roots using a molecular technique revealed higher AMF diversity in ORG than in CON. These results suggest that agricultural practices significantly influence AM fungal community structure and mycorrhizal inoculum potential.
A variety of bioactive secondary metabolites have been reported from plant-associated microorganisms. Halophytes, plants that can only grow in hypersaline area, were reported to host beneficial microorganisms such as plant growth-promoting endophytes. The microorganisms have been reported to show notable mutualistic symbiosis with halophytes to help them survive in high saline condition. Finding out bioactive secondary metabolites as well as elucidation of relationship(s) between microbes and the host halophyte has been paid attention, because of their functional diversity. Novel microbes often have associated with novel natural products. In an effort to investigate natural compounds with interesting structures from fungi, we selected plants from a distinct environmental setting which could be a promising source. Several fungi were isolated from halophyte or medicinal plants. Some strains of the fungi were cultivated on a large scale and extracted with ethyl acetate, which were subjected to a series of chromatographic methods, leading to the isolation of tens of compounds. The isolated compounds were identified by analysis of spectroscopic methods such as 1D-, 2D-NMR, and MS. Details of isolation, structure determination, and biological activities will be discussed.
Activating commercial activities and sales networks, the trend of fair trade which is to correct the unfair trade between on North-South Problems social marketing. The fair trade institute which has ethical and commercial goals suggests three types of consumer. The approach implies a coalition.
An experimental system for the possibility of association between cultured plant cells and a cyanobacterium (N. muscorum) was investigated. The association was established in nitrogen-free medium, and nitrogen source was provided by N. muscorum through its own nitrogen fixation. N. muscorum was distributed on the outer part and intercellular spaces of the cultured plant cells. Polyamines were treated to the nitrogen-free medium to improve the association. Polyamines increased nitrogenase activity and protein amount in the association between N. muscorum and the cultured plant cells, as compared to the association without polyamines. Especially, spermine showed an increasing effect on the nitrogenase activity and the protein content in the association of tobacco and N. muscorum, while spermidine showed similar effect in case of soybean and N. muscorum.
Legume plants develop root nodules to recruit nitrogen-fixing bacteria called rhizobia. This symbiotic relationship allows the host plants to grow even under nitrogen limiting environment. Since nodule development is an energetically expensive process, the number of nodules should be tightly controlled by the host plants. For this purpose, legume plants utilize a long-distance signaling known as autoregulation of nodulation (AON). AON signaling in legumes has been extensively studied over decades but the underlying molecular mechanism had been largely unclear until recently. With the advent of the model legumes, L. japonicus and M. truncatula, we have been seeing a great progress including isolation of the AON-associated receptor kinase. Here, we summarize recent studies on AON and discuss an updated view of the long-distance control of nodulation.
These days, Home Economics in Korea is confronted with the inner argument about its identity and the outer pressure of re-organization caused by educational reformation. Fundamentally, these internal and external challenges to Home Economics arise from that Home Economics has not been fulfilling the needs of individuals and families due to weakening of integrate perspective, insufficient practice and conservative tendency of study. To get over the current problems and construct a new paradigm of Home Economics contributing to the requirements of new era, the following prerequisites might be fulfilled; \circled1 More active concern about surmounting the alienation that threatening the modern family life and self-actualization of individuals. \circled2 An endeavor to find a new family philosophy and patterns of family culture as the basis of community restoration that harmonize the traditions with changes. \circled3 An Effort to find a highter values that contribute to symbiosis and development of global community including all human beings, creatures and eco-system on the earth.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the Site layout of Buddhist Architicture by water space of landscape architecture. As a result, the following fact is identified; We knew that land scape of Buddhist Architecture is intentional device. Example from the Tong-do Temple, it leads cleary the intention of water-space. The case of Tong-do Temple, water space is divided into Yeon-ji(lotus pond) and the Yeong-gi(shadow pond) and Gye-ryu(mountain stream). The viewing intention of Gu-Ryong-ji where Yong-ji the construction intention characteristic is positive it was intended there is a possibility of knowing. From the research which it sees it is limited in case of the Tong-do Temple tries to search a concrete instance. but on this outside many multiple architectural space uses water space and It creates the space where it leads the harmony of architecture and intention it was plentifully included.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a model of planning of urban on focused Seonhwan-up in Chongan-city. The subject matter of this paper is urban design of small town which has factors of ecological conditions in rural area. We can check ecological design factors of this city through green and water space, first of all. If they are produced by biotope network, this city in the nature is to create eco-city which has symbiosis between human and a creature.
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi were observed in Botrychium ternatum native in Korea. The partial small subunit(SSU) of ribosomal DNA gene from the fern roots was amplified with primers AM1/NS31. Nucleotides sequence analysis of the clones revealed that two fragments were close to Glomus proliferum and G. sinuosum. The other three DNA fragments were close to those of G. proliferum with the relatively low similarities($92{\sim}95%$) and speculated to be originated from three different species of Glomus(GLA006, GLA016, and GLA032). Five different nucleotide sequences close to three AM fungal species were found in the roots of B. ternatum native in Korea.
