This paper presents a novel switching pattern current control (SP-CC) scheme, which is applied in three-phase voltage-source converters (VSCs). This scheme can select the optimal output switching pattern (SP) by referring the basic principle of space vector modulation (SVM). Moreover, SP-CC is a method without a carrier wave. Thus, the implementation process is concise and easy. When compared with the conventional hysteresis current control (C-HCC) and the space vector-based hysteresis current control (SV-HCC), the SP-CC has the performances of faster dynamic response of C-HCC and less switching number (SN) of SV-HCC. In addition, it has less harmonic contents in the three-phase current, along with a lower switching loss and a higher efficiency. Moreover, the hysteresis bandwidth and Clarke conversion are not required in the SP-CC. The effectiveness of the presented SP-CC is verified by simulation and experimental test results. In addition, the advantages of the SP-CC, when compared with the C-HCC and SV-HCC, are verified as well.
This paper proposed a new partial resonant 3.PHI. AC-DC boost converter of high efficiency using lossless snubber. The proposed converter, DCM (Discontinuous Current Mode) has a merit of simple controlled circuit because the input current control discontinuously. But turned off switching loss and stress of the switching device increase when the switch turned off at the peak of current. Therefore, the paper improves efficiency by adopting the PRS$^{2}$(Partial Resonant Soft Switching) in 3.PHI. AC-DC boost converter and makes the unity power factor. The PRS$^{2}$ is reduced a current/voltage stresses of switching devices. Also, a DCMPRS$^{2}$M(Discontinuous Conduction Mode Partial Resonant Soft Switching Method) appear the current and voltage equation of this circuit. The paepr examine in a 3.PHI. AC-DC boost converter and show the result of that.
In the issues of interleaved topology which have been in limelight as high power converter, various soft-switching methods are studied to reduce switching losses in high power application. The interleaved ZCT converter has an additional filter inductor to reduce losses of diodes during reverse recovery process. However, additional current conduction modes are occurred by the inductor, we need to analyze switching losses with inductor values on each mode. In this paper, current conduction modes and boundary conditions of interleaved ZCT converter are analyzed. In the conclusion, the minimum of switching losses in converter operation modes is analyzed by calculating switching losses.
In this paper, new zero voltage and zero current switched PWM(Pulse Width Modulated) converters are suggested. The main and auxiliary switch of the converters satisfy soft switching conditions, which are zero voltage or zero current switching of the switches. The switching characteristics of the proposed converters are experimentally verified by boost typed converter, which has 250 kHz switching frequency. For the 250 kHz operation, turn on period of auxiliary switch is about 1/40 for switching period of 4 ${\mu}\textrm{s}$. Therefore, the conduction loss of auxiliary switch is reduced.
In this paper, a current-fed two-inductor bi-directional DC/DC converter using resonance (CF-TIBCR) and its design method are proposed. The CF-TIBCR has characteristics of low current ripple and a high current rating because of two separated inductors. Also, it achieves zero voltage switching for all switches and zero current switching for switches of a low voltage stage by using the resonant tank. Besides, a voltage spike problem in conventional current-fed converters is solved without the need for an additional snubber or clamping circuits. As a result, the CF-TIBCR features high step-up and high efficiency. Since the proposed converter has difficulty achieving the soft-switching condition when the converter requires the low voltage transfer ratio, a method that varies the number of resonant cycles is adopted to extend the output voltage range with satisfying the soft-switching condition. The principles of the operation characteristics are presented with a theoretical analysis, and the proposed converter is verified through results of an experiment using a laboratory prototype.
This paper proposes a synchronous switching technique for a Vienna rectifier that uses carrier-based pulse width modulation (CB-PWM). A three-phase Vienna rectifier, similar to a three-level T-type converter with three back-to-back switches, is used as a PWM rectifier. Conventional CB-PWM requires six independent gate signals to operate back-to-back switches. When internal switches are operated synchronously, only three independent gate signals are required, which simplifies the construction of gate driver circuits. However, with this method, total harmonic distortion of the input current is higher than that with conventional CB-PWM switching. A reactive current injection technique is proposed to improve current distortion. The performance of the proposed synchronous switching method and the effectiveness of the reactive current injection technique are verified using simulations and experiments performed with a set of Vienna rectifiers rated at 5 kW.

In this paper, the new zero-current-transition (ZCT) circuit cell is proposed. The main switch is turned-off under the zero current and zero voltage condition, and there is no additional current stress and voltage stress in, the main switch and the main diode. The Auxiliary switch is turned-off under the zero voltage condition, and the main diode is turned-on under the zero voltage condition, The resonant current required to obtain the ZCT is small and regenerated to the input voltage source. The operational principles of the boost converter integrated with the proposed ZCT circuit cell is analyzed theoretically and verified by the simulation and experimental result. Index terms - zero-current-transition (ZCT), zero-current- switching (ZCS), zero-voltage-switching (ZVS)
A novel active controlled primary current cutting-off zero-voltage and zero-current switching (ZVZCS) PWM three-level dc-dc converter (TLC) is proposed in this paper. The proposed converter has some attractive advantages. The OFF voltage on the primary switches is only Vin/2 due to the series connected structure. The leading-leg switches can obtain zero-voltage switching (ZVS), and the lagging-leg switches can achieve zero-current switching (ZCS) in a wide load range. Two MOSFETs, referred to as cutting-off MOSFETs, with an ultra-low on-state resistance are used as active controlled primary current cutting-off components, and the added conduction loss can be neglected. The added MOSFETs are switched ON and OFF with ZCS that is irrelevant to the load current. Thus, the auxiliary switching loss can be significantly minimized. In addition, these MOSFETs are not series connected in the circuit loop of the dc input bus bar and the primary switches, which results in a low parasitic inductance. The operation principle and some relevant analyses are provided, and a 6-kW laboratory prototype is built to verify the proposed converter.
In this paper, soft switching bidirectional DC-DC converter is proposed. The proposed topology is added two auxiliary switches, two resonant capacitors and one resonant inductor to convectional bidirectional DC-DC converter. Therefore, this proposed topology can reduce switching loss of each power switch by ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) and ZCS (Zero Current Switching). We have performed mode analysis, simulation and experiment for the proposed topology.
This paper focuses on the zero-voltage/zero current transition voltage equalization circuit for the series connected battery cell. By adding auxiliary resonant cells at the main switching devices such as MOSFET or IGBT, zero current switching is achieved and turned off loss of switching elements is eliminated and by the voltage/second balancing of the inductor, zero voltage switching can be applied to switching element. Transformer coupling between battery cells and ZVZCT (Zero Voltage Zero Current Transition) switching method allow the fast balancing speed and high frequency operation, which reduces the size and weight of the circuit. The validity of the battery equalization is further verified using simulation involving four lithium-ion battery cell models.
