  • The turnout point system is installed to separate the main rail track from other tracks in rail load stations. It is also important to set up the switch point system to change the direction of the turnout point, to lead and change the direction of tracks. The switch point system can be negatively affected by heavy snow during winter seasons which can cause critical safety problems. Furthermore, the maintenance and repair of the conventional system is prohibitively expensive due to its complexity and high probability of failure. In this paper, an efficient switch point system is proposed which simplifies the equipment structure and lowers the cost for maintenance and repair, while improving safety and performance of the rail road system.

  • A multicast traffic’s feature is the function of providing a point to multipoints cell transmission, which is emerging from the main function of ATM switch. However, when a conventional point-to-point switch executes a multicast function, the excess load is occurred because unicast cell as well as multicast cell passed the copy network. Additionally, due to the excess load, multicast cells collide with other cells in a switch. Thus a deadlock that losses cells raises, extremely diminishes the performance of switch. An input queued switch also has a defect of the HOL (Head of Line) blocking that less lessens the performance of the switch. In the proposed multicast switch, we use shared memory switch to reduce HOL blocking and deadlock. In order to decrease switch’s complexity and cell's processing time, to improve a throughput, we utilize the method that routes a cell on a separated paths by traffic pattern and the scheduling algorithm that processes a maximum 2N cell at once in the control part. Besides, when cells is congested at an output port, a cell loss probability increases. Thus we use the Output Memory (OM) to reduce the cell loss probability. And we make use of the method that stores the assigned memory (UM, MM) with a cell by a traffic pattern and clears the cell of the Output memory after a fixed saving time to improve the memory utilization rate. The performance of the proposed switch is executed and compared with the conventional policy under the burst traffic condition through both the analysis based on Markov chain and simulation.

  • The low-frequency characteristics of four-switch three-phase (FSTP) inverter are investigated in this paper. Firstly, a general space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) directly involved the neutral point voltage of DC-link is proposed, where no sector identifications and trigonometric function calculations are needed. Subsequently, to suppress the DC offset in the neutral point voltage, the relationship between the neutral point voltage and the ${\beta}-axis$ component of the load current is derived, and then a new neutral point voltage control scheme is proposed where no low pass filter is adopted. Finally, the relationship between the load power factor and the maximum linear modulation index of the FSTP inverter is revealed. Since the operational region for the FSTP inverter in low frequency is reduced by the enlarged amplitude of the neutral point voltage, a linear modulation range enlargement scheme is proposed. A permanent magnet synchronous motor with preset rotary speed serves as the low-frequency load of the FSTP inverter. Experimental results verify that the new neutral point voltage control scheme is effective in the deviation suppression of the neutral point voltage, and the proposed scheme is able to provide a larger linear operational region in low frequency.

  • In this paper, we describe the performance results of the field installation test which is required to practicalize the single-phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine. This product has passed the certified test through performance improvement of driving parts in order to use 3 phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine, which is localized by taking over technology from Alstom and Cogifer when constructing Seoul-Busan rapid-transit railway, without change of the electrical equipment at track-side in domestic existing lines which single-phase 220V is used. KRRI and Samsung SDS have localized the single-phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine to improve the speed and safety of the conventional lines through the existing railway technology development project. For practicalization of this, we should, however, verify the performance through not only field installation test in real lines but also interface test with the interlocking. In this paper we verify the practicality of the domestic single-phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine through analysis on the performance result of the field installation test as well as the research contents for this test. Thereby, in Feb 2009 we have received an order from the Korea Rail Network Authority and are currently installing the single-phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine.

  • In this paper, we are proposed to pushing window input buffer A.T.M Switch that is not use memory read and write of general window police. Pushing window switch is superior to general window switch in performance but is large to general window switch in cross point number. Max throughput and Cell occupying probability results are verified by analysis an simulation. The evaluation of performance is max throughput and cell loss probability and mean queue length.

  • This paper presents an improved three-phase PFC power rectifier with a three-phase diode rectifier cascaded four-switch boost converter. Its operating principle contains the operating principle of two conventional three-phase PFC power rectifiers: one switch boost converter type and a two switch boost converter type. The operating characteristics of the four switch boost converter type three-phase PFC power rectifier are evaluated from a practical point of view, being compared with one switch boost converter type and two switch boost converter topologies.

  • A goal of a BISDN network is to provided integrated transport for a wide range of applications such as teleconferencing, Video On Demand etc. There require multipoint communications in addition to conventional point-to-point connections. Therefore multicast capabilities are very essential in multimedia communications. In this paper, we propose a new multicast cell scheduling method on the Parallel Multicast Packet Switch with Ring network: PMRN which are based on separated HOL. In this method, we place two different HOLs, one for unicast cells and the other for multicast cells. Then using non-FIFO scheduling, we can schedule both unicast cells and multicast cells which are available at the time in the input buffer. The simulation result shows that this method reduces the delay in the input buffer and increases the efficiency of both point-to-point network and ring network and finally enhances the bandwidth of the overall packet switch. • Memory-device is one of the auxiliary components of point-switch machine; connecting front-rod and tongue-rail. The right side and left side of memory-device are different from each other. When there would be a derailing accident of rolling stock or motor-car, the memory-device properly bends and protects the internal of point-switch machine. Memory-device is one of the important site maintenance spare parts. Memory-device for each of right and left side should be secured so that they can be installed on correct side during an exchange work. This study suggests the development of memory-device with different left and right side and the performance test of it. The study intends to contribute in the convenience improvement of maintenance by improving the unification of memory-device.

  • In this paper, we propose ATM switch structure including AAL type 2 switch which can efficiently transmit low-bit rate data, even if the network has many endpoints. We simulate the architecture of ATM switch fabric that is modeled in computer program and analyze the performance according to offered loads. ATM switch proposed in this paper can support cell switching for all types of AAL cells which consist of AAL type 1, AAL type 2, AAL type 3/4, and AAL type 5 cells. We propose two switch fabric methods; One supports the AAL type 2 cell processing per input port, the other global AAL type 2 cell processing for every input port. The simulation results show that the latter is superior to the former. But the former has a strong point for easy implementation and extensibility. The proposed ATM switch fabric architecture is applicable to mobile communication, narrow band services over ATM network.

  • In the case of conventional high frequency inverter, with damage of switch by surge voltage when switch gets into compulsion extinction by load accident and so on because reactor is connected by series to switch, or there was problem of conduction loss by reactor's resistivity component, Also, it has controversial point of that can not ignore conduction loss of switch in complete work kind action of soft switching. In this paper, as high frequency induction heating power supply, we propose half bridge type multi resonance soft switching high frequency inverter topology that can realize high amplitude operation of load current with controlling switch current by multiplex resonance, mitigating surge voltage when switch gets into compulsion extinction and to be complete operation of zero current switching by opposit parallel connected reactor to inverter switch. and do circuit analysis for choice of most suitable circuit parameter of circuit
