유영과 보행이 가능한 생체모방 수중 로봇의 설계개념과 근사모델을 활용한 모의실험 (Bio-inspired Walking and Swimming Underwater Robot Designing Concept and Simulation by an Approximated Model for the robot)

  • This paper describes the design concept of a bio-inspired legged underwater and estimating its performance by implementing simulations. Especially the leg structure of an underwater organism, diving beetles, is fully adopted to our designing to employ its efficiency for swimming. To make it possible for the robot to both walk and swim, the transformable kinematic model according to applications of the leg is proposed. To aid in the robot development and estimate swimming performance of the robot in advance, an underwater simulator has been constructed and an approximated model based on the developing robot was set up in the simulation. Furthermore, previous work that we have done, the swimming locomotion produced by a swimming patten generator based on the control parameters, is briefly mentioned in the paper and adopted to the simulation for extensive studies such as path planning and control techniques. Through the results, we established the strategy of leg joints which make the robot swim in the three dimensional space to reach effective controls.

인공종묘 생산 감성돔 (Acanthoparus schlegelii) 치어의 척추 변형에 관하여 (Vertebral abnormality in Hatchery-reared Black Sea Bream (Acanthoparus schlegelii) fingerlings)

  • Vertebral deformity in hatchery-reared black sea bream (Acanthoparus schlegelii) fingerlings occurred. Deformed fish had a good appetite but no clinical signs were found except the vertebral abnormality and darkness around the dorsal skin of the deformed vertebra. As more than 90% of the hatchery-reared fish exhibited vertebral abnormality, the fingerlings could not be used for commercial seeds any more. No morphological change in the swim bladder was observed. Histopathological changes on the deformed vertebra, gill, liver, and spleen were observed to clarify the cause of the deformity. The vertebra were irregularly deformed upward with the shape of "V" in an alphabetic character causing the spinal cord and dorsal aorta suppressed. The diameters of the muscle fibers around the deformed vertebra, especially, in the dorsal part, were much smaller and more irregular than those in normal fish, and the gabs between the fiber bundles were enlarged. No evidence of inflammatory responses in the lateral musculature were found. On the basis of normal inflation of the swim bladder, cultural environments for growth of the fingerlings, and histopathological alterations in the muscle, vertebra and gills, it is suggested that high speed of water current in the culturing aquaria between 23 to 30 days after hatching was responsible for the development of vertebral abnormality.

  • 1989년, 1990년 12월 강원도 양양군 남대천에서 채포한 연어로부터 수정난을 받아 양양내수면연구소와 한국해양연구소, 부화, 사육실에서 난 발생 과정 및 자치어의 형태를 관찰하였다. 수정난은 평균 난경이 7.2mm이며 주황색, 적색을 띤 분리 침성난이다. 부화까지의 적산 온도는$480{\sim}531^{\circ}C$였다. 부화직후의 자어는 전장이 1.80~2.56cm범위이며 커다란 난황을 갖고 바닥에 누워 있었다. 부화후 35일이 지난 평균 전장 3.56cm인 자어는 난황을 완전히 흡수하고 체측에 7~11개의 parr무늬가 나타나 치어(fry)기에 이른다. 부화후 3개월이 지나면 평균 전장이 $5.67{\pm}0.53cm$로 자라고 몸은 은색 광택을 띠면서 스몰트(smolt)가 된다. 연어의 초기 발육과정은 성장 체형의 변화로 미루어 1) 부상전의 자어기, 2) 부상기, 3) 스몰트기의 3단계로 나눌 수 있었다. 부상기에는 전장에 대한 주둥이, 몸통 길이, 체고의 비성장 속도가 빨랐다.

N-3계 및 N-6계 지방산 식이가 스트레스에 노출된 흰 쥐의 혈당과 혈청 유리지방산 및 지방산 조성변화에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Dietary n-3 and n-6 Polyunsaturated Fats on changes in Glucose, Non Esterified Fatty Acid and Fatty Acid Compositions in Serum of Rat Exposed to Stress.)

  • This study was designed to investigate the changes in energy substrates, glucose and non-esterified fatty acid(NEFA), and fatty acid compositions in serum, following physiolgical stress in rats fed diets containing various fatty acids. Forty two Sprague-Dawley strain male rats, weighing 108$\pm$2.1g, were fed 3 different experimental diets for 4 weeks. The diets were composed of 105 fat(w/w) of either corn oil(CO;18:2 n6:57%), plant perilla oil(PO;18:3 n3:59%), or tuna fish oil(FO;20:5 n3:17%%, 22:6 n3:19%). After 4 weeks of feeding, each group wa subdiveided into (a) control, (b) 2 min swim in ice-cold water. Animals wer decapitated 20min after commencing the swim; trunk blood, brain, liver and epididymal fat pad were obtained. The levels of serum corticosterone, glucose, NEFA, triglyceride, fatty acid compositions, brain serotonin and 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid were determined. Basal levels of corticosterone na NEFA of serum were significantly lower in fish oil fed animals than those of any other oil fed animals. Compared to either perilla oil-fed or corn oil-fed rats, cold swim stress in fish oil fed rats produced significantly smaller NEFA and larger corticosterone responses. However, there was no significant difference in basal levels of serum glucose. Stress increased serum glucose levels slightly, and the amount of increment was larger in fish oil rats than those of any other oil fed rats than those of any other oil fed rats, although all the values were normal level. Dietary fats and stress did not affect serotonin metabolism. In additions, the composition of fatty acids in serum was significantly affected by the dietary compostion of fatty acids and stress. Stress induced decreases in monounsaturated fatty acid and non-polyunsaturated fatty acid concentration in either perilla oil fed or fish group, but did not in corn oil fed group. Stress resulted in changes in fatty acid metabolism similar to that associated with essential fatty acid(EFA) dificiency, when feeding animals n-3 fatty acids in diet. In conclusion, feeding fish oil was more effective to decrease NEFA in serum than feeding perilla oil or corn oil and improved lipid metabolism, when the rats were maintained in normal or exposed to stressful environment. However, the fact that feeding diet containing n-3 fatty acids decreased EFA status under stress suggests that the requirement of n-6 PUFA should be increased in these groups.

수영참가자와 운동욕구의 관계 (The Relationship between Participation Characteristics on Exercise Needs of Swimming Participants)

  • 본 연구는 수영참가자의 참가특성과 운동욕구와의 관계를 알아보는데 있다. 다시 말해, 수영참가자의 참가특성 즉 동반자, 시간, 참가결정 요인 등에 따라 운동욕구가 차이가 있는지 규명하는데 주된 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 대상은 2006년도 현재 부산광역시 소재 수영장 회원을 모집단으로 설정하였으며, 성인 남녀 299명을 선정하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 조사도구는 이병기 외 2인(1989)이 개발한 운동욕구 설문지를 사용하였으며, 설문지의 하위요인은 항상성 4문항, 활동성 3문항, 정화 3문항, 친애 3문항, 과시 3문항, 성취 3문항 등 6개의 하위척도 총 19개의 문항으로 구성하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 통계분석 기법은 신뢰도 분석, 빈도분석, 일원변량 분석(One-way ANOVA)이다. 이러한 연구 목적과 연구방법을 토대로 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 동반자에 따른 운동욕구는 혼자서 참가하는 것 보다 동반자와 함께 참가하는 것이 높았으며, 동반자의 하위요인 중 과시, 친애욕구 요인에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 시간대에 따른 운동욕구는 새벽, 오전, 오후에 참가하는 것보다 저녁에 참가하는 사람이 높았으며, 시간대에 따른 운동욕구의 하위요인 중 친애욕구 요인에서만 유의한 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 참가결정요인에 따른 운동욕구는 시설 및 지도자 요인이 높았으며, 참가결정요인에 따른 운동욕구의 하위요인 중 항상성, 과시욕구 요인에서 유의한 차이가 있었다.

체외성숙, 수정 및 배양에 있어서 각기 다른 배양조건들이 소 체외수정란의 생산에 미치는 효과 (Effects of In Vitro Maturation, In Vitro Fertilization and In Vitro Culture Conditions on Bovine Embryo Production)

  • This study was conducted to establish the optimal conditions for in vitro embryo production using oocytes derived from follicles of slaughter-house ovaries. The ovaries of Hanwoo were obtained from a local slaughter-house. The oocytes were aspirated from visible follicles of 2~7mm in diameter. The recovered oocytes which were completely surrounded by at least 2 layers of cumulus cells and a homogeneous cytoplasmic pigmentation were used. The selected oocytes were washed 3 or 4 times with D-PBS containing 10% bovine calf serum (BCS) and matured in vitor (IVM) in Ham's F-10 supplemented with 10% BCS or 0.01 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml epidermal growth factor(EGF) at 39$^{\circ}C$ under 5% CO2 in air for 24 hours. They were fertilizqed in vitro (IVF) with fresh sperm separated by Percoll density gradient or swim-up in TALP media. The zygotes were cultrued with or without bovine oviductal epitherial cells(BOEC) in media(HECM-6 supplemented with 11 amino acid and / or TCM-199 supplemented with 10% BCS) for 7 to 10 days. The results obtained were as follow: The cleavage rate and developmental rate to blastocyst after maturation and IVF were not significantly different between Ham's F-10 with EGF(76.0% vs. 44.0%) and BCS(75.9% vs. 43.6%)(P<0.05). The cleavage rate and development rate to blastocyst after fertilizing by swim-up or Percoll method were not signifciantly(P<0.05) different between swim-up (80.2% vs. 29.2%) and Percoll(81.9% vs. 26.5%) (P<0.05). The cleavage rate in TCM 199(80.5) was signficiantly higher than that in HECM-6 (72.0%) (P<0.05). However, developmental rate to blastocyst using TCM 199 following HECM-6 for 3 or 4 days (42.2%) was significantly higher than that in TCM-199 alone(26.7%)(P<0.05). The cleavage rate and development rate of embryos produced in vitro by exchange timing for HECM-6 media were not significantly different between in day 3(78.6% vs. 45.5%) and day 4(75.0% vs. 43.2%)(P<0.05). The cleavage rate and developmental rate to blastocysts according to co-culture system were not significantly different between with (74.2% vs. 41.4%) and without BOEC(73.95 vs. 43.5%) (P<0.05). The number of blastomere in blastocyst stage after co-culture with or without BOEC was not significantly different (106.7$\pm$5.1 and 96.6$\pm$4.0). In conclusion, the most transferable IVP embryos could be produced from Ham's F-10 medium for IVM, Percoll density gradient method for IVF sperm separation and in vitro culture in HECM-6 until day 3 or day 4, and then transferred into TCM-199 until day 9 within adequate embryo density in culture droplets after insemination.

운동 유발성 알레르기 질환(FDEIA)에 미치는 영향과 기전분석 (Effects of Different Exercise Intensity on FDEIA and Related Mechanisms)

  • 본 연구에서는 우선 운동 강도(저강도, 중강도, 고강도)를 달리하여 훈련한 서로 다른 그룹에서 운동 유발성 알러지 아나필락시스의 차이를 규명하고 운동강도에 따른 운동 유발성 알러지 질환의 기전을 규명하고자 본 연구를 실시 하였다. 본 실험을 위하여 군당 25마리씩 통제군(S; control sensitized, n=25), 저강도 훈련군(S30, n=25), 중강도 훈련군(S50, n=25) 및 고강도 훈련군(S80, n=25)으로 구분하여 수영훈련 강도별 알러지를 유도하였을 때, 알러지 아나필락시스를 조사하고 아울러 비장지수, 림프구의 수, 림프구 증식반응, 싸이토카인(IL-4, INF-${\gamma}$), 항체 및 복강과 비장의 ROS를 함께 측정하였다. 본 연구 결과, 일반 감작군에 비하여 운동 감작군에서 알러지가 더 잘 일어남을 확인하였고, 운동강도의 증가와도 밀접한 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 운동강도가 증가할수록 OVA반응에 대한 림프구 증가가 현저하게 일어나는 원인과 복강활성산소의 증가 및 알러지 면역반응에 중요한 역할을 담당하는 싸이토카인인 IL-4의 증가 때문인 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 특히, 운동강도의 증가에 따라 INF-${\gamma}$의 감소도 의미 있는 결과로 해석된다. 따라서 추후 운동 강도뿐만이 아니라 운동빈도에 따라서도 FDEIA의 변화에 대한 심도 있는 연구가 필요하다고 여겨진다.

모래주사 Microphysogobio koreensis(Cyprinidae)의 산란행동 (Spawning Behavior of Microphysogobio koreensis(Cyprinidae) in Korea)

  • 멸종위기 담수어류 모래주사의 산란행동을 조사하기 위해 산란시기인 2012년 4월부터 5월까지 전북 임실군의 섬진강 일대에서 연구를 실시하였다. 모래주사의 산란은 무리산란 (group spawning)하는 어류와 달리 암수 한 쌍에 의해 이루어졌으며, 수중으로 대량의 생식세포를 방출하여 산란하는 원시적인 생식모드 (broadcast spawner)로 확인되었다. 자연에서 모래주사의 산란행동은 휴식(resting), 유혹(male chase), 자극(body beating), 평행유영(parallel swim), 암컷의 산란회피(female withdrawal), 경쟁(male competition), 산란(spawning), 산란 후 난을 보호하는 행동은 보이지 않아(not guard) 총 8가지 행동을 보인 반면 수조 내에서는 휴식, 유혹, 자극, 평행유영, 산란, 산란 후 난을 보호하지 않은 6가지 행동이 관찰되었다. 특히 산란전 행동은 수조 내에서 보다 자연상태에서 더 빈번하게 일어났다. 이와 같은 행동적 차이는 작고 좁은 수조에서의 행동적 제약에 의한 결과로 추정된다.

The Involvement of AMPA Receptor in the Antidepressant-like Effects of the Portulaca Oleracea L. Extract in Mice

  • Objectives : The development of natural drugs with antidepressant effects is important and needed. This study was performed to investigate the antidepressant-like effects of the distilled water extract of Portulaca oleracea L. (POL) in a mouse model and to investigate the role of ${\alpha}$-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole-propionic acid (AMPA) receptors in producing these antidepressant-like effects. Methods : The forced swim test (FST) and tail suspension test (TST) were used to investigate the behavioral anti-depressive-like effects of POL in mice. Additional behavioral experiments with 2,3-dihydroxy-6-nitro-7-sulfamoyl-benzo[f]quinoxaline-2,3-dione, an AMPA receptor antagonist, were undertaken to determine the involvement of the antidepressant-like properties of POL in AMPA receptor throughput. Results : Oral administration of the POL extract (100 mg/kg) 1 h prior to testing significantly reduced the immobility times in the FST and TST. The antidepressant-like effects of the POL extract were not increased in a dose-dependent manner. Pre-treatment with NBQX significantly attenuated the reduction in immobility time induced by the POL extract in the FST. Conclusions : The distilled water extract of POL has antidepressant-like effects, which may be related to AMPA receptor. Pre-treatment with NBQX significantly attenuates the reduction in immobility time induced by the POL extract in the FST.
