항공기 주익 조립 장비의 드릴링 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Drilling Performance of the Assembly Machine for the an Aircraft's Main Wings)

  • Recently, the manufacturing market for low-cost airlines has led to an increase in aircraft demand. Most processes in the production of these aircrafts are manual such as drilling, sealing, and swaging. A drilling and riveting machine is a numerical-control based equipment that automatically performs drilling, sealing, and swaging operations. The accuracy of the drilled holes and the exit burr length has a significant impact on the quality of the aircraft wing during assembly. This study was conducted to identify the conditions necessary to maintain a uniform quality by controlling the rotation speed of the spindle, which directly affects the hole diameter and the quality of the exit burr.

  • A high-pressure hose includes rebar layers of the synthetic fiber such as nylon or a steel wire to control internal pressure. The hose assembly is manufactured through the swaging process to clamp the hose into the metal fittings. Usually, the hose behavior is affected by the resultant of the longitudinal and circumferential forces produced by the internal pressure. The rebar layers can appear the most ideal rebar effect when they are arranged to the same direction as the resultant force. The braid angle applied in the rebar layers is an important factor in determining ultimate burst pressure and overall hose life. Failure can occur on the contacted parts of a hose with the metal fittings under severe operating conditions such as high pressure and temperature of the inner fluid. In this paper, the mechanical behavior between the hose and the metal fittings during the swaging process and the stress variation characteristics of a high-pressure hose under a constant applied pressure are analyzed with respect to the braid angle of steel wire using the finite element method.

  • Stiffened panels are very frequently used for body structures of automobiles, air-crafts, submarines, etc., to suppress the vibration level. Swaging technique is the modification of the configuration of panel itself, and this is prefered to rib-like stiffeners because it does not change the total weight of structure. In this paper, the transmissibility of vibratory power through swage is investigated, where the swage is modeled as an incomplete circular ring, utilizing the well-known transfer matrix method. The power transmission and reflection coefficients of swaged panel are estimated and compared with experimental results.

  • 소성가공이란 원재료를 소성변형(Plastic deformation)을 통해서 고체의 제품을 만드는 가공법이다. 가공중에 물체의 질량과 체적에는 크게 변화가 없다. 소성 가공중 주응력이 어떻게 작용하느냐에 따라서 소성가공을 여러가지로 분류하고 있다. 즉, Metal Forming은 다음과 같이 분류할 수 있다. 1) Compound Forming에는, Rolling, Free forming, Die forming, Stamping, Pressing 2) Tension compression forming에는, Drawing, Deep-drawing, Rimming, Spinning, Bulge forming 3) Tension forming에는 Lengthening, Widning, Deepening 4) Bending에는 Bending with linear tool motion, Bending with rotary tool motion 5) Thrust forming에는 Swaging, Twisting이 있다.

  • The multistage precision forming process for aperture of electronic guns consists mainly of drawing and swaging operations. The multistage forming sequence is analyzed in view of production industry, and based on the industrial investigation. The processes are simulated by the finite element code MARC. The elastic recovery, strain and stress distribution, and the die forces are summarized.

  • 새로운 티타늄기 MMCs(W/ Ti-6Al-4V)에 대한 기계적 특성에 대한 연구를 행하여 평가한 결과를 나타내었다. HIP(hot isostatic pressing) 제조법과 RS(Rotary Swaging) 2 차 가공을 통하여 텅스텐 섬유 함유율이 각각 6, 9, 12 vol%인 W/Ti-6Al-4V MMCs 를 제작하였으며, 경도는 기존의 Ti-6Al-4V 합금과 비교하여 20-30%, 인장강도는 50%(비강도-38%) 높은 값을 얻었다. 섬유 함유율 9vol.% 에서 가장 높은 인장 값을 나타내었으며, MMCs 에서 메트릭스와 계면 사이에 생성된 확산상에 의해서 경도 및 인장강도가 향상되었다. 또한 피로 강도를 향상 시키기 위한 방법으로 메트릭스의 질적 향상을 위한 HIP 제작조건에 대한 추가적인 연구가 필요하다.

LEU+ loaded APR1400 using accident tolerant fuel cladding for 24-month two-batch fuel management scheme

  • In this work, a 24-month two-batch fuel management strategy for the APR1400 using LEU + has been investigated, where enrichments of 5.9 and 5.2 w/o are utilized in lieu of the conventional 4-5 w/o UO2 fuel. In addition, an Accident Tolerant Fuel (ATF) clad based on the swaging technology is applied to APR1400 fuel assemblies. In this special ATF clad design, both outer and inner SS316 layers protect the conventional zircaloy clad. Erbia (Er2O3) is introduced as a burnable absorber with two-fold goals to lower the critical boron concentration in the long-cycle LEU + loaded core as well as to handle the LEU + fuel in the existing front-end fuel facilities without renewing the license. Two types of fuel assemblies with different loading of gadolinia (Gd2O3) are considered to control both the reactivity and the core radial power distribution. The erbia burnable absorber is uniformly admixed with UO2 in all fuel pins except for the gadolinia-bearing ones. In this study, two core designs were devised with different erbia loading, and core performance and safety parameters were evaluated for each case in comparison with a core design without any burnable absorbers. The core analysis was done using the two-step method. First, cross-sections are generated by the SERPENT 2 Monte Carlo code, and the 3-D neutronic analysis is performed with an in-house multi-physics nodal code KANT.

급냉응고 및 열간가공된 Al-Zr계 합금의 석출거동 (Precipitation Behaviors of Rapidly Solidified and Hot Worked Al-Zr Base Alloys)

  • Rapidly Solidified (RS) Al-Zr base splats with various alloy contents were prepared by atomization-splat quenching method to understand the continuous and discontinuous precipitation in the aged alloys. And the RS alloys were consolidated by hot extrusion and swaging to analyze the effect of plastic deformation on the precipitation behavior. Discontinuous precipitation dominated at relatively low temperature in the Al-Zr alloy, whereas both V additions to Al-Zr alloys and hot metal working appeared to suppress the discontinuous precipitation. As continuous precipitation is favored in the grain interiors, the driving force for discontinuous precipitation become to disappear with a further process.
