  • The advantage of internet survey compared to the traditional survey methods are speedy in data collection, cost-effective, high performed design and able to data process and analysis at the same time. The other side are difficult to select sample, come from serious nonresponse errors. We suggest the new internet survey method to the questionnaire design that have the high response rate, enough to advanced preparations and system stability.

  • Workplace Panel Survey(WPS) is the representative panel survey of workplace in Korea. WPS was newly sampled in 2005 and is to be used for the subsequent biennial survey. The main survey is divided into a questionnaire for human resources(HR) manager, a questionnaire for labor relations manager and a questionnaire for representatives of unions. The population of WPS 2005 included workplaces across the country with 30 or more employees. The WPS 2005 was composed of 1,905 workplaces including 290 workplaces in the public sector. The sample was selected by the stratified random sampling. Weighting process for the survey data was introduced to compensate for differential sampling and non-response rates. Personal interviews were conducted using the Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing(CAPI) system during visits by interviewers, along with survey via mail and e-mail concerning employment and financial issues. The CPAI system introduced for the WPS 2005 can by used for automatical detection for errors and inconsistencies which may occur during the survey process. The CAPI system played an important part in enhancing the reliability of the survey data.

  • Objectives: Parkinson's disease is one of the most common neurodegenerative diseases in the elderly population. In order to estimate the prevalence of Parkinson's disease in the community, the application of a good screening tool is essential. We evaluated the validity and reliability of a Parkinson's disease screening questionnaire and propose an alternative measure to improve its validity for use in community surveys. Methods: We designed the study in a three-phase approach consisting of a screening questionnaire, neurologic examination, and confirmatory examination. A repeated survey was administered to patients with disease detected in the community and on 150 subjects. We examined internal consistency using Cronbach's alpha test, test-retest reliability using the kappa statistic, and validity using sensitivity, specificity, and ROC curves. Unadjusted odds ratios were utilized for the estimation of weights for each questionnaire item. Results: The Cronbach's alpha of the questionnaire was 0.708. The kappa statistic for test-retest reliability was good to generally fair in most of the items. When newly proposed weighting scores were used, the optimum cut-off value was 7/8. When cut-off value was 5/6 for surveying prevalence in a community, the sensitivity was 0.98, and the specificity was 0.61, with simultaneous improvement in reliability. Conclusions: We recommend 5/6 as the ideal cut-off value for the survey of PD prevalence in community. This questionnaire designed for the Korean community could help future epidemiologic studies of PD.

  • It is the purpose at thus survey to get hold at problems in teaching integrated science in middle school. For this purpose, problems and suggestions were collected by questionnaire which were made out by middle school science teachers. Through the analysis of the questionnaire, it was found that the present curriculum of science education in the college of education and the in-service training program were not suitable for training middle school science teacher. Form the results of the analysis, this survey concluded that the curriculum and program mentioned above need improvement as follows. (1) science education curriculum in the college of education should be set up with two part. One is the part that middle school science teachers are trained and the other is the part that high school science teachers are trained. (2) In-service training program should be set off into two kinds. One is the program that middle school science teachers are trained and the other program that high school science teachers are trained.

  • A nationwide questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the actual conditions of local authorities in operating and maintaining sewerage systems especially for urban flooding. The questionnaire includes the incidences of flooding since 1980, the existence of any guidance for preventing flood damage and the design frequency currently used for sewers in each local authority. Among 160 local authorities responded to the survey, 95(59.3%) has experienced flooding more than once since 1980 while only 36(37.9%) of the 95 has prepared operation/maintenance guidelines for flooding. Most of the respondents have applied the 10 year design frequency for sewer design and 57(35.6%) of them agreed to adjust the 10 year design frequency regulation.

With economic development, dwelling commercialization and socialization gradually reshaped the housing distribution system and local government management in Chinese urban area. After this process, dwellings were endowed with commodity attributes, which were planned and designed depending on residents' requirements of life. During the 30 years of social transformation, Chinese citizens' lifestyle also had huge changes. In this period, the forms of residential area improved constantly to keep pace with social development. This study aims to research the features of contemporary communities and survey citizens' lifestyle changes to find the reasons of the evolution of communities. Moreover, in this paper, there is a clear explanation of the reasons why gated communities are popular in Chinese urban area. • When we estimate the population proportion of the individuals in the population for the attribute or the characteristic, we consider the sample survey. We can consider many methods of the sample survey, as mail questionnaire, visits, personal calls, etc. When we have the list of units in the population, we usually make use of the mail questionnaire. It is economical and free from the investigator's effect on the respondent, but it has some objections. The principal objection is that it involves a large nonresponse rate that might cause a singificant bias in the result. The bias arises from the different in the characteristics under investigation between those who respond and those who do not respond.

  • Allergic diseases as the major symptoms of Sick Building Syndrome have significantly increased because of the indoor pollutants resulted from the enhanced energy conservation performances of residential buildings. Following traffic accidents, domestic accidents are known as the second most frequent accident type. This study analyzes the occurrences of allergic diseases and home accidents caused by housing conditions, together with the residents' consciousness of the diseases and accidents. The findings of this study are expected to help develop the design guidelines and new housing types conducive to the healthy housing environment. For this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted in two rounds which include face-to-face questionnaire survey and online survey, collecting 200 responses and 1000 responses respectively. The data based on the valid 1011 responses were analyzed by Frequency Analysis and T-test.
