Assessing the Differences in Korean View on National Economic Policy with Factor and Cluster Analysis

  • In this study, factor and cluster analysis have been conducted to group the differences in Korean view on national economic policy in the sample of the 2006 Korean General Social Survey (KGSS). According to the 2006 KGSS, the 6 items with a 5-point Likert scale include the questions about whether or the extent to which each respondent supports the specific types of governmental economic policy. In our study, at first, the factor analysis has converted the original 6 items into the 3 composite variables that account for 81% in the total variability. As the second step of factor analysis, factor scores have been computed. Then, the K-means cluster analysis based on the factor scores has been conducted to group the survey respondents into the 3 clusters. In particular, the cross-tabulation analysis has shown that the distribution of the 3 clusters varies with the respondents' socio-demographic characteristics.

  • Introduction of BIM(Building Information Modeling) was led by public institutions, and all buildings over a certain size were obligated to apply BIM. However, through various attempt to apply BIM to actual practice, people had doubt whether it is a usable technology in reality appeared. Therefore, this study investigated cases about implementation strategies of foreign countries, and conducted survey on BIM performances and preparation in architectural design firms. On the basis of this, it suggests the long-term development strategy of BIM and the basic direction of road map to adopt BIM effectively to domestic architectural design market. After considering the cases abroad and the results of survey, it is identified that incentive policies supporting finance and education should be carried out together with partially obligation method led by government in order to introduce BIM into architectural design market effectively by reflecting current situation of architectural design firms.

  • Today's database system needs to collect huge amount of questionnaire that results from development of the information technology by the internet, so it has to be administrable. However, there are many difficulties concerned with finding analytic data or useful information in the high capacity-database. Data mining can solve these problems and utilize the database. Questionnaire analysis that uses data mining has drawn relevant patterns that did not look or was tended to overlook before. These patterns can be applied by a new business rule. The purpose of this research is to analyze the questionnaire results and to present the result that can help to make decision easily with data mining. Recognition and analysis about these techniques of data mining show suitable type of questionnaire survey. This research focus on the form of present composition and the model of suitable questionnaire to analyze the type of it. Also, the comparison between the actual questionnaire result and the conventional statistical analysis is examined.

  • There are many data mining techniques such as association rule, decision tree, neural network analysis, clustering, genetic algorithm, bayesian network, memory-based reasoning, etc. We analyze 2003 Gyeongnam social indicator survey data using k-means clustering technique for environmental information. Clustering is the process of grouping the data into clusters so that objects within a cluster have high similarity in comparison to one another. In this paper, we used k-means clustering of several clustering techniques. The k-means clustering is classified as a partitional clustering method. We can apply k-means clustering outputs to environmental preservation and environmental improvement.

우리나라 육군 병사들의 독서실태 조사 연구 (A Survey of the Reading Habits of Soldiers in the Korean Armed Forces)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 병사들의 독서요구를 반영하는 병영도서관의 장서개발 정책 수립을 마련하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 연구 방법으로 2개 사단의 육군 병사 1,000명을 대상으로 한 독서실태 설문 조사와 병영도서관 현장 방문 및 면담 등이 포함되었으며. 병사들의 독서량과 독서방법 및 경향. 도서입수경로. 독서의식과 환경 등이 분석되었다. 연구 결과 장서의 다양화와 정기간행물을 포함한 신간 확보의 필요성이 확인되었고. 이를 개선하기 위한 방안으로 독서 문화 조성을 위한 프로그램의 개발과 예산 및 제도적 지원 등이 제안되었다.

국내 소규모 경작업자의 방제복 착용에 대한 의식 및 디자인 개발 현황 (Survey for the Use of Pesticide Protective Clothing in Smallholder Farmers for the Purpose of Improving Wearing Acceptability)

  • This survey was performed to gain basic information for the development of new protective clothing of high acceptability in pesticide splaying among small size farmers. The rate of protective clothing wearing was low during pesticide spray although they understand its necessity. The reason for this low acceptability was related to the heat stress and reduced work efficiency deriving from wearing protective clothing. Instead of wearing they tend to carry out spray work while the ambient temperature is not to high. In the similar context, they rather intend to spray in consideration of weather condition instead of wearing protective clothing in the future. However, they are willing to purchase protective clothing if desirable products are developed: the clothing need to be efficient in both protection and work performance; the fanciness in design is not a requisite. This survey result will provide information necessary for the direction of new protective clothing development.

  • This paper reports results of a recent survey of 184 Information Technology (IT) development practitioners and 90 User Interface (UI)/usability practitioners. This survey covered a broad range of issues including the respondents' profile, current development environment, usability and user-centered design (UCD) adoption issues in IT development practice, overall assessment of usability/UCD, and the most widely used usability/UCD methods and techniques. The results of this study are expected to provide an empirical basis for usability and UCD planning, training, adoption and execution in IT industry.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 최근 다양한 산업분야에서 도입되고 있는 클라우드 컴퓨팅서비스의 관련 문헌을 조사하여 개념과 유형, 적용 사례를 포괄적으로 분석한 후, 도서관 사서들을 대상으로 클라우드 컴퓨팅서비스에 대한 인식을 설문조사하여 그 결과를 기반으로 도서관에서 클라우드 컴퓨팅서비스를 적용할 때의 장점과 문제점, 적용에 적합한 도서관 업무 분야를 사서들의 설문 내용에 근거하여 도출하고, 클라우드 컴퓨팅서비스의 도서관 적용에서 핵심적으로 고려할 사항들을 제안하였다.

  • In this paper, as a forecasting method, the market survey for forecasting demand is introduced for the estimation of subscriber line demand in the optical access networks. The market survey method for the new multimedia services is attempted to collect information directly from customers using the questionnaires for home-users and business-users in local loops. Analysis rationale of questionnaires is suggested to estimate the number of subscriber lines. Also, two measures are presented to quantify the credibility on survey responses; one is the probability that the customer will use the multimedia services and the other is the rate that the subscriber line demand will be actually realized. The former measure is calculated based on the information on customers and the Logit analysis. The latter is obtained by the degree of customer's knowledge about specific services and the customer's willingness to use the services. Based on the values of two measures, the number of subscriber line demand can be developed for installing the optical access networks.

EC 효익과 경쟁전략과의 관계에 관한 실증분석 (Relationship between EC Benefits and Competitive Strategy)

  • A research model was developed to examine the relationship between the anticipated benefits of electronic commerce and competitive strategies. A survey questionnaire was sent to 2000 electronic shopping malls in Korea, and 102 usable responses were obtained. The survey asked about the anticipated benefits from using electronic commerce. The survey also asked about three strategies that they have been following to achieve business competitiveness. The results provide useful guideline to develop appropriate strategies and plans for effectively deploying and managing the use of the electronic commerce. Customer responsiveness was the most important factors among six benefit factors, namely customer responsiveness, market responsiveness, economies of production, internal organizational efficiency, overall performance, and flexibility. Overall performance also predicted a focus strategy whereas flexibility predicted a cost leadership strategy.
