Facial degloving injuries are due to separation between the skin and subcutaneous tissues from the underlying muscles, bones, and fascia. These injuries often create a reconstructive challenge for surgeons especially when there are associated complications like wound infection or necrosis of the avulsed flap. This case report presents management of a case of facial degloving injury with full thickness necrosis of the avulsed flap. The authors concluded that treatment of such complex wounds requires a multi-disciplinary approach along with proper planning and staging of the surgical procedures for optimum aesthetic and functional outcomes.

Generally, patients with severe burst fractures, instability, or neurological deficits require surgical treatment. In most cases, circumferential reconstruction is performed. Surgical methods for three-column reconstruction include anterior, lateral, and posterior approaches. In cases involving an anterior or lateral approach, collaboration with general or thoracic surgeons may be necessary because the adjacent anatomical structures are unfamiliar to spinal surgeons. Risks include vascular or lumbar plexus injuries and cage displacement, and in most cases, additional posterior fusion surgery is required. However, the posterior approach is the most common and anatomically familiar approach for surgeons performing spinal surgery. We present a case in which three-column reconstruction was performed using only the posterior approach to treat a patient with a severe lumbar burst fracture.

Osteogenesis imperfecta is a heterogeneous group of connective tissue diseases that is predominantly characterized by bone fragility and skeletal deformity. Two siblings with undiagnosed type I osteogenesis imperfecta underwent orthognathic surgery for the treatment of facial asymmetry and mandibular prognathism. The authors report two cases of combined orthodontics and orthognathic surgery in patients with type I osteogenesis imperfecta, mandibular prognathism, and facial asymmetry.

Human bite injury to the eyelid is extremely rare and poses a significant challenge in surgical reconstruction. We report an extremely rare case of human bite injury to the eyelid in a 43-year-old male with approximately 60% full thickness loss of the upper eyelid and 80% to 90% full thickness loss of the lower eyelid and its successful reconstruction using the local advancement cheek flap.

A rare case of otitis media following general anesthesia is presented. There was no obvious cause of otitis media. Normal functioning resumed after one week. The patient was given medications including antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Fractures of the mandibular condyle are account for between 26% and 57% of all mandibular fractures. Clinicians should decide how to treat the fractured condyle with many factors considered. Many surgical methods have been developed to reduction of fractured condyle and it' s internal fixation. In open reduction of fractured condylar neck and subcondyle, retromandibular approach offers a safe and effective approach for direct fixation due to easy access and low surgical morbidity.
