3D Calibration Method on Large-Scale Hull Pieces Profile Measurement using Multi-Slit Beams (선박용 곡판형상의 실시간 측정을 위한 다중 슬릿빔 보정법)

  • In the transportation industry, especially in the shipbuilding process, 3D surface measurement of large-scale hull pieces is needed for fabrication and assembly. We suggest an efficient method for checking the shape of curved plates under the forming operation with short time by measuring 3D profiles along the multi lines of the target surface. For accurate profile reconstruction, 2D camera calibration and 3D calibration using gauge blocks were performed. The evaluation test shows that the measurement accuracy is within the boundary of tolerance required in the shipbuilding process.

  • This paper proposes a measurement method for the surface of micro-parts by using AFM(Atomic Force Microscope). To this end, two techniques are presented to extend the capacity of AFM. First, the measurement range is extended by using an image matching method based on correlation coefficients. To account for the inaccuracy of the coarse stage implemented in AFM's, the image matching technique is applied to two neighboring images intentionally overlapped with each other. Second, a method to measure the shape of relatively large specimen is presented by using the inherent trigger mechanism due to the atomic force. The proposed method is proved effective through a series of experiments.

  • The DCPD(Direct Current Potential Drop) method has been adopted for the crack measurement of a structure. The objective of this paper is to develop a multi-channel DCPD system not only for detecting crack depth, but also for determining the accurate shape of the surface crack. For this purpose, an exclusive software was also developed. In order to verify the developed DCPD system it was initially tested on a CT specimen, and subsequently was applied to a wide plate specimen. The developed multi-channel DCPD system was proven to provide an efficient and accurate measurement of a surface crack during the crack growth.

  • The rear side contact recombination in the crystalline silicon solar cell could be reduced by back surface field. We formed polycrystalline silicon as a back surface field through crystallization of amorphous silicon. A thin silicon oxide applied to the passivation layer. We used quasi-steady-state photoconductance measurement to analyze electrical properties with various annealing condition. And, blister formed on surface of wafer during the annealing process. We observed the blister after varied annealing process with wafer of various surface. Shape and density of blister is influenced by various annealing temperature and process time. As the annealing temperature became higher, the average diameter of blister is decreased and total number of blister is increased. The sample with the $600^{\circ}C$ annealing temperature and 1 min annealing time exhibited the highest implied open circuit voltage and lifetime. We predicted that the various shape and density of blister affects the lifetime and implied open circuit voltage.

  • Optical triangulation displacement sensors(0TDSs) are widely used for their simple struchlre, high resolution, and long operating range. However, there are several factors that must be taken into account in order to obtain high accuracy and reliability Measurement errors from inclinations a? an object surface, prohe signal fluctuations generated by speckle effects. power vanation of a light source, electronic noises, and so on. Previous models of OTDSs can not show reasonable behavior as change of surface inclination and shape of light intensity distribution on the detector. In this paper, we propose a new and reasonable modeling for diffise-type OTDSs based on a geometrical optics. To verify propriety of new modeling, we take basic experiments. Shape of light intensity distribution is asymmetric in both simulation result and experimental result. Both simulation result and experimental result show same tendency of light intensity distribution movement as changing surface inclination

  • This paper deals with monitoring of grinding wheel wear in surface grinding process. A laser scanning micrometer is used to measure the circumferential shape as well as the axial shape of grinding wheel. The monitoring system is applied to two kinds of grinding methods: plunge and traverse grinding. Through experiments, it is found that measurement of grinding wheel wear reveals information of roughness of ground surface and the adequate dressing time. In addition, monitoring of grinding wheel wear makes it possible to identify abnormal grinding conditions.

  • Shadow moire topography has been used as a noncontact method for measuring the 3-D shapes of objects. The moire fringes are results from the superposition of a master grating and its shadow projected on the surface of an object. But in case of the classical shadow moire method, in general, the resolution is a few tenths of millimeter. It is difficult to use a phase -shifting method in shadow moire because it is impossible to obtain uniform phase shifts on the whole field. But in this study , We introduce a phase-shifting method to improve the resolution of the classical shadow moire method. This method is based on the fact that if the depth of object is much less than the distance between the observer and the master grating, the phase shifts are almost uniform on the whole field area. Finally, we applied this new phase-shifting method to the measurement of the 3-D shape of a coin.

  • The shadow moire is one of the optical techniques which is able to give contour lines of an object with respect to a master grating plane. The moire patterns are issued from the superposition of a master grating and its shadow projected on the surface of an object. In case of the classical shadow moire method, the sensitivity was a few tenths millimeters. generally, it is difficult to use a phase shift method in shadow moire because it is impossible to obtain uniform phase shifts on the whole field. But in this study we use the fact that if the depth of object is much less than the distance between the observer and the master grating, and the object is displaced perpendicularly to the grating plane, phase shifts are almost uniform. Finally we obtained a better resolution by using a phase shift procedure and applied the phase shifting shadow moire to three dimensional shape measurement.

  • A derailment coefficient of railway vehicle is as one of important element that estimate running safety. Derailment coefficient is ratio of lateral load/vertical load happens in contact point between wheel and rail. Lateral load increases, dangerous of derailment can rise. There are ground and vehicle to measurement method of these derailment coefficient. Method of ground is simple, but when vehicles passes data of a point, there is shortcoming that acquire locally. Curved surface style wheel shape that use so far among vehicle method in this research wishes to be not but describe about static load test of wheel-set for derailment coefficient measurement that have plane plate shape that manufacture separate way and correction result etc. to test.

  • Moire topography method is a well-known non-contacting 3-D measurement method. the automatic 3-D measurement by moire topography has been required since the method was frequently applied to the engineering and medical fields. 3-D measurement using digital projection moire topography is very attractive because of its high measuring speed and high sensitivity. In this study, digital two-wavelength phase shilling moire is applied to the entertainment fields. recently. as promoting the growth of the VR-Game, display devices which attract public attention such as HMD or Projector are being appeared in order to deliver effectively the absorption sense. this study realized the Auto-calibrating system for arbitrary display surface using digital moire method which satisfied the shape measurement of display surface and the request of FOV(Field of View) output. also when large screen wasn't prepared, this auto-calibrating system was applied to enjoy games or movies at home with a projector and walls
