흑연 금형 표면 보호용 PCS 코팅층의 열경화에 의한 조성비 조절 특성 연구 (Study on the Compositional Characteristics of the PCS Coating Layer by Curing Treatment for the Protection of Graphite Mold Surface)

  • The characteristics of the polycarbosilane (PCS)-based composite ceramic layer was studied by controlling the curing temperature. The stress at the interface of the graphite and SiOC composite layer was evaluated v ia finite element analysis. As a result, the tensile stress was released as the carbon ratio of the SiC decreases. In experiment, the SiOC layers were coated on the VDR graphite block by dip-coating process. It was revealed that the composition of Si and C was effectively adjusted depending on the curing temperature. As the solution-based process is employed, the surface roughness was reduced for the appropriate PCS curing temperature. Hence, it is expected that the cured SiOC layer can be utilized to reduce cracking and peeling of SiC ceramic composites on graphite mold by improving the interfacial stress and surface roughness.

  • Fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) coated NiCrAl alloy foam is fabricated using ultrasonic spray pyrolysis deposition (USPD). To confirm the influence of the FTO layer on the NiCrAl alloy foam, we investigated the structural, chemical, and morphological properties and chemical resistance by using USPD to adjust the FTO coating time (12, 18, and 24 min). As a result, when an FTO layer was coated for 24 min on NiCrAl alloy foam, it was found to have an enhanced chemical resistance compared to those of the other samples. This improvement in the chemical resistance of using USPD NiAlCr alloy foam can be the result of the existence of an FTO layer, which can act as a protection layer between the NiAlCr alloy foam and the electrolyte and also the result of the increased thickness of the FTO layer, which enhances the diffusion length of the metal ion.

알루미늄합금 재료의 산화막 형성이 피로거동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Oxide Film Formation on the Fatigue Behavior of Aluminum Alloy)

  • 본 논문에서는 알루미늄 7075-T6 재료의 부식 기간별 표면 산화막 형성이 피로거동에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하였다. 사용된 알루미늄 재료는 부식에 대한 부동태화 현상으로 부식저항 특성이 높은 금속으로 알려져 있다. 알루미늄 합금은 다른 재료에 비해 가볍고 강한 재료 특성 때문에 항공기 부품 산업과 같은 다양한 산업분야에서 널리 사용되고 있다. 때문에 부식에 대한 재료의 피로거동 특성과 부식에 대한 부동태화 특성에 대한 연구가 요구된다. 4절점 회전 굽힘 시험기를 사용하여 부식 기간별 재료의 피로거동 특성을 확인하였고, 표면 거칠기를 측정하여 부식 기간별 알루미늄 재료의 표면 부식 정도를 평가하였다. 또한 전자주사현미경을 통해 파단면 분석 및 재료 표면에 형성된 산화막을 측정하였다. 실험결과 초기 부식 4주 동안은 부식이 활발히 진행되어 피로수명은 크게 감소하고 표면 거칠기는 증가하였다. 하지만 4주 이후부터 재료의 부동태화 현상으로 부식 반응이 둔화되는 경향을 보였다. 전자주사현미경을 통한 분석에서도 표면 산화막의 성장이 4주 이후부터 둔화되어 재료 표면의 산화막이 보호층 역할을 하여 더 이상의 부식진행을 방지한다는 결론은 얻었다.

창호거치 태양광발전 가변형광선반 설계 및 기초적 발전성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design and Power Performance of a Variable Photovoltaic Lightshelf Mounted on the Windows)

  • This study aims to suggest the PV lightshelf and to evaluate the power performance of the photovoltaic systems easily mounted on the windows. For the study, the suggested systems consist of two parts as fixed and movable PV modules. Also, tempered glass and polycarbonate are used on the surface protection materials for solar cells of PV lightshelf. By using polycarbonate, the weight of PV lightshelf is lighter about 20%. The field tests are performed for five days by using real size models. The voltage, current and electric powers are measured as basic performances of PV lightshelf. Also, the irradiation, brightness and module surface temperature are measured as outside conditions. As results, the power performance of tempered glass PV lightshelf shows about 11(%) higher thant that of polycarbonate PV lightshelf. And the power performance shows about 5(%) higher in a horizontal system. This results could be used to develop the effective PV lightshelf in next study.

강판의 내식성 향상을 위한 환경 친화형 표면처리: 다중코팅에 의한 시너지 효과 (Environmentally Friendly Surface Treatments for Improvement of Corrosion of Steel Sheets: Synergy Effect by Multicoating)

  • Because of the toxicity of hexavelant chromium ion, treatments of metallic surface with chromate compounds to retard corrosion are undesirable for safety control in industrial uses and protection of environment. In this study, we investigated several compounds such as inorganic, organic, and polymer materials in order to sub­stitute the chromate conversion treatment on steel sheet. The corrosion property was investigated in a salt spray tester with 3.5 $wt.{\%}\;NaCI\;at\;35^{\circ}C.$ The results showed that the zirconium/silane/polymer triple coatings on the galvanized steel exhibited a significant retardation of corrosion. Although the multicoating system needs a com­plexed processing, we can confirm a possibility of development of a chromate-free chemical conversion treat­ment for galvanized steel sheet.

우주선용 고온 절연체의 표면 코팅 재료 개발 (Development of protection coating material on the surface of insulation tiles of space vehicle)

  • 우주 항공 기술의 첨단인 Space Shuttle Orbiter(SSO)의 두 coating material 인 Reaction Cured Glass(RCG)와 Spinel(C742)을 제조하여, 표면 위에 부딪히는 원자들의 재결합 가능성 $\gamma$를 확산반응기에서 측정하였다. SSO의 재진입 온도인 약 1000K에서 C742의 산소 원자들의 재결합 가능성 $\gamma$$3 {\times} 10^{-2}$으로 RCG에서의 $4 {\times} 10^{-4}$ 보다는 더 큰 값을 갖는다. C742에서 $\gamma$값이 더 높다는 것은 RCG에서 보다 더 많은 활성점을 갖고 있다는 것을 의미한다. 낮은 온도에서 활성점에 있는 원자의 탈착을 유도함으로써 보다 활성이 낮은 표면 코팅 재료를 개발할 수 있다.

  • The hull of a fast sailing aluminium ship are generally prone to erosion owing to the impact of seawater. At this time, synergistic effects of the erosion and the corrosion by aggressive ions such as chlorides tend to aggravate the damage. There have been various attempts, including selection of erosion-resistant materials, cathodic protection and addition of corrosion inhibitors, to overcome damage by erosion or corrosion under marine environments. These approaches, however, have limits on identifying the damage mechanism clearly, because they depend on analogical interpretation by correlating two damage behaviors after the individual studies are assessed. In this research, it was devised a hybrid testing apparatus that integrates electrochemical corrosion test and cavitation test, and thus the erosion-corrosion behavior by cavitation was investigated more reliably. As a result, the slightest damage was observed at the potentials between -1.6 V and -1.5 V. This is considered to be due to a reflection or counterbalancing effect caused by collision of the cavitation cavities and the hydrogen gas formed by activation polarization.

복합보온양생 방법이 극저온 조건하 플라이애시 치환 콘크리트의 온도이력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Heat Curing Methods on the Temperature History of the Fly Ash Concrete Subjected to Extremely Low Temperature)

  • In this study, temperature profile of the fly ash concrete were studied in accordance with the change of heating curing method combination for the slab concrete in order to develop efficient protection method of the concrete subjected to $-20^{\circ}C$. The slab concretes with the size of $1200mm{\times}600mm{\times}200mm$ were fabricated with W/B of 50% and exposed to $-20^{\circ}C$ for 7 days. Five different combinations of heat curing methods were applied to the slab concrete specimen; two combinations of heat supplying by electrical heater and surface heat insulation material such as polyethylene film and quadrupled layer bubble sheet based on heat enclosure installment; three combinations of heating coil embedment and surface heat insulation materials such as polyethylene film, sawdust and quadrupled layer bubble sheet based on heat enclosure installment. Test results showed that by applying both heating coil and bubble sheet and heat enclosure, the concrete exposed to $-20^{\circ}C$ can be effectively protected from early-age frost damage.

축소시편을 이용한 Bottom ash 경량콘크리트패널의 차음성능평가 (An acoustic evaluation of bottom-ash light-weigh concrete panel using small-scale Panel)

  • Recently, drywall's demand is increasing by interest about spread of remodeling house and separated wall structure. This research evaluated panel's SRI and found out panel properties using material of small size. Conclusion of this research is as following. First, we confirmed the effectiveness of small-scale material. Measuring results appeared equally about 400 ${\sim}$ 500 Hz that is fc frequency. Second,, it is no big difference in SRI that use CRC or magnesium board that is used for protection of panel surface. Third, it is compared SRI by used junction to make wall that become disjointing assembly. By the result, sealed wall secures resemblant SRI performance almost with normal wall. Therefore, using joint materials and sealing junction became wall that is detached with high SRI.

Development of a Conservation Corrugated Box for Storage of Document Archives

  • A conservation corrugated box for storing document archives was developed. The specifications of the double-walled E-flute corrugated conservation box were modified from those of the Library of Congress, USA. The Photographic activity test (PAT) of ISO 18916 was used to ensure protection of the archival contents from adverse effects of the container itself. Accelerated aging was conducted to evaluate the conservative properties of the box components. Atomic force microscopy was also used to evaluate changes in the cellulose surface due to accelerated aging.
