Thermocondensation root canal filling technique have been used to fill accessary canals or to obtain homogeneous root caral fillings. But these thermocondensation technique inevitably produce heat in the canal which can be transmitted through the dentin and cementum and consequently damage periodontal ligamental cells and osteoblasts. In this study, System $B^{TM}$(Analytic technology, WA.D.S.A.) was used to evaluate the reaction of periodontal ligament tissue to "Continous Wave condensation technique" introduced by Buchanan, and the transmitted root surface temperature was measured according to measured root thicknesses. 12 Mandibular incisors of two adult dogs were used for the experiment. 6 controls were filled by lateral condensation technique with sealer.3 specimens were apically filled by Continuous Wave technique at $200^{\circ}C$ for 5 seconds and remaining 3 specimens were additionally backfilled using System $B^{TM}$(Analytic technology, WA.D.S.A.) was used to evaluate the reaction of periodontal ligament tissue to "Continous Wave condensation technique" introduced by Buchanan, and the transmitted root surface temperature was measured according to measured root thicknesses. 12 Mandibular incisors of two adult dogs were used for the experiment. 6 controls were filled by lateral condensation technique with sealer.3 specimens were apically filled by Continuous Wave technique at $200^{\circ}C$ for 5 seconds and remaining 3 specimens were additionally backfilled using System $B^{TM}$ at $100^{\circ}C$ for 20 seconds. Six weeks later, the dogs were sacrificed and the teeth stained with Hematoxylin and Eosin for histologic examination. 6 extracted human teeth were used to measure the transmitted temperature. After cutting off the crown, the canals were prepared and divided into 3 groups with root thickness of 1.5mm, 1.0mm, 0.5mm, 2 teeth in each group. Inside each root canal, System $B^{TM}$ was heated as with the temperature for the apically condensed and the back filled group, and the transmitted heat was measured on the external surface of the root. The temperature of System $B^{TM}$ heat spreader at $200^{\circ}C$ and $100^{\circ}C$ was also measured at root temperature. It can be concluded as follows: 1. In the thin area (200-$250{\mu}m$) of the root, root resorption could be seen even with heating at $200^{\circ}C$ for 5 seconds. 2. When the spreader was heated at $200^{\circ}C$ for 5 seconds and additionally at $100^{\circ}C$ for 20 seconds for backfill, all teeth showed root resorption regardless of their root thickness. 3. The transmitted external root surface temperature was higher as the root thickness decreased and as the heating time increased. In the thermocompaction technique using System $B^{TM}$, the spreader should be heated for the minimal time and used only in the apical area. The heated spreader shouldn't inserted to the binding point of the canal and backfilling should be done with other means of minimally heated gutta percha technique.
Heat loss from windows and condensation occuring on its surface due to its lower insulation value causes much discomfort to occupants. In this study, Heated glass was used to make a basic study on prevention of condensation on glass surface for its heating functionality through experimental measurement and simulation analysis of total heat flux on the interior and exterior surface of glass. Error between experimental results and three dimensional steady-state heat transfer analysis were caused firstly, beacuse in the experimental chambers, cold chamber and steady temperature and humidity chamber, air temperature setting was not constant but rather ON/OFF control, and secondly, due to error rate in heat flux meter due to heat flux direction even in stable conditions.

We demonstrate the desert beetle back mimicking hybrid superhydrophilic/superhydrophobic patterned surface by using the combination method of colloidal lithography and gravure offset printing for nano and micro patterning, respectively. The two methods are cost-effective and industrially available techniques compared to the other nano/micro patterning methods. To verify the water collecting function of the hybrid surface, the water condensation behavior is investigated on the chilled surface in ambient temperature and high humidity. Due to the synergetic effect of drop and film wise condensation, the hybrid superhydrophobic/superhydrophilic surface shows the higher efficiency than one of single wettability surfaces. The work is underway to get the good patterns of hybrid surfaces for water collecting from the dew or fog.
This study was conducted to provide data necessary for reducing the condensation on greenhouse covering in winter season. The variation of VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) and condensation flux was analyzed in experimental tomato greenhouse. VPD values in experimental plastic greenhouse were greater than 0.2 kPa of disease prevention threshold, and lower than 0.5 kPa of threshold for dehumidification. The surface temperature of inside covering was slightly higher than the average temperature of outside and above curtain, and changed according to outside temperature. The humidity above curtain was nearly 100% and good condition for condensation. The humidity below curtain was 75~90% and comparatively stable condition for growing. The condensation flux value in experimental greenhouse corresponded with result of Seginer and Kantz (1986).

Water glass is much cheaper than silicon alkoxide, so it has advantage for commercialization. A condensation by acid catalyst makes considerable effect about the properties of water glass based silica aerogel among many factors in silica aerogel process. The pore structural properties of water glass based silica aerogel such as specific surface area and pore size distribution have been investigated through the changes in the amount and the kinds of acid catalyst. It has been confirmed that water glass based silica aerogel is affected by various conditions of catalyst in the condensation reaction such as the kind, concentration, and the amount of mole of acid catalyst on the properties of final products. Especially, it is checked that the effect of mole of acid is more prominent than that of concentration. In the case for conventional method with introducing 4M HCl in condensation step, the silica aerogel could be synthesized which has $394m^2/g$ of specific surface area, 2.20 cc/g of pore volume, 22.3 nm of average pore size, and 92.53% of porosity. On the other hand, when 4M sulfuric acid was used with 73 mmol at the condensation step of water glass based silica aerogel, the pore structural characteristics of water based silica aerogel showed better properties than the case of using HCl, for example, specific surface area was measured as $516m^2/g$, and pore volume, average pore diameter, and porosity were obtained as 3.10 cc/g, 24.1 nm, and 96.1%, respectively.
Purpose: Under the purpose of presenting the adequate remodeling period for the improvement of thermal insulation performance of external walls in deteriorated buildings, the change in external wall and residential environment problem(dew condensation) due to aged deterioration after the apartments were constructed in Korea were analyzed. Method: Temperature Difference Ratio Outside(TDRo) and Heat Flow Meter(HFM) were used as measurement methods to evaluate the thermal insulation performance of deteriorated buildings. For TDR evaluation, thermo-graphic camera was used to measure and analyze the surface temperature of external wall. Also, dew condensation evaluation was analyzed using the Temperature Difference Ratio Inside(TDRi). Result: As a result of analyzing thermal performance through TDRo, the first decline point of thermal insulation performance began after 14-16 years have passed since construction was completed, and after 20 years have passed the decline point of thermal insulation performance reappeared. As a result of analyzing U-value with HFM measurement method, the decline rate of external wall's thermal insulation performance is lower than 2% in average at around 5 years after completion, and 8.7% in average at 10-15 years, and over 10.2% in average at 20 years.
Nanoparticles of iron oxides have been prepared by the levitational gas condensation (LGC) method, and their structural and magnetic properties were studied by XRD, TEM and Mossbauer spectroscopy. Fe clusters were evaporated from a surface of the levitated liquid Fe droplet and then condensed into nanoparticles of iron oxide with particle size of 14 to 30 nm in a chamber filled with mixtures of Ar and $O_2$ gases. It was found that the phase transition from both $\gamma$-$Fe_2O_3$ and $\alpha$-Fe to $Fe_3O_4$, which was evaluated from the results of Mossbauer spectra, strongly depended on the $O_2$ flow rate. As a result, $\gamma$-$Fe_2O_3$ was synthesized under the $O_2$ flow rate of 0.1$\leq$$Vo_2$(Vmin)$\leq$0.15, whereas $Fe_3O_4$ was synthesized under the $O_2$, flow rate of 0.15$\leq$$Vo_2$(Vmin)$\leq$0.2.
This paper describes a condensation-evaporation method (CEM) to produce size-controlled spherical silver nanoparticles by perturbing coagulation and coalescence processes in the gas phase. Polydisperse silver nanoparticles generated by the CEM were first introduced into a differential mobility analyzer (DMA) to select a group of silver nanoparticles with same electrical mobility, which also enables to make a group of nanoparticles with elongated structures and same projected area. These silver nanoparticles selected by the DMA were then in-situ sintered at ${\sim}600^{\circ}C$, and then they were observed to turn into spherical shaped nanoparticles by the rapid coalescence process. With the assistance of modified converging-typed quartz reactor, we can also produce the 10 times higher number concentration of silver nanoparticles compared with a general quartz reactor with uniform diameter. Finally, the spherical silver nanoparticles with 30 nm were electrostatically deposited on the surface of silicon substrate with the coverage rate of ~4%/hr. This useful preparation method of size-controlled monodisperse silver nanoparticles developed in this work can be applied to the various studies for characterizing the physical, chemical, optical, and biological properties of nanoparticles as a function of their size.

$PM_{2.5}$ is one of critical air pollutants due to its high absorbability of heavy metallic fumes, PAH and bacillary micro organisms. Such a fine particulate matter is often formed through various nucleation processes including condensation. This study attempts to find the nucleation behaviors of $PM_{2.5}$ arisen from coal power stations using a classical heterogeneous Fletcher's theory. The numerical simulation by C-language could approximate the nucleation process of $PM_{2.5}$ from water vapor, of which approach revealed the required energy for embryo formation and embryo size and nucleation rate. As a result of the calculation, it was found that wetting agents could affect the particle nucleation in vapor condensation. In particular, critical contact angle relates closely with the vapor saturation. Particle condensation could be reduced by lowering the angles. The wetting agents aid to decrease the contact angle and surface tensions, thereby may contribute to save the formation energy.

In order to prevent the oxide formation on the surface of nano-size iron particles and thereby to improve the oxidation resistance, iron nanoparticles synthesized by a chemical vapor condensation method were directly soaked in hexadecanethiol solution to coat them with a polymer layer. Oxygen content in the polymer-coated iron nanoparticles was significantly lower than that in air-passivated particles possessing iron-core/oxide-shell structure. Accordingly, oxidation resistance of the polymer-coated particles at an elevated temperature below $130^{\circ}C$ in air was $10\~40$ times higher than that of the air- passivated particles.
