표면 근전도 신호를 이용한 실시간 상지부 동작 예측을 통한 인간-기계 상호작용 (Human-Machine Interaction based on a Real-time Upper Limb Motion Prediction using Surface Electromyography)

  • 본 논문은 표면 근전도 신호(sEMG)를 이용해 상지부의 동작을 실시간으로 예측하고 이를 기반으로 한 인간-기계 상호작용(Human-machine interaction)에 관한 것이다. 사용자의 상지부에 위치한 5 곳의 근육에서 수집하는 근전도 신호와 인공신경회로망(arfiticial neural network) 알고리즘을 이용하여 상지부 동작을 실시간으로 예측하였고, 기계팔(manipulator)이 예측된 동작을 좇아 움직이도록 제어되었다. 이때, 사용자가 기계팔의 끝단(end-effector)과 접촉해 있는 상태에서 상지부 동작은 2 차원 평면 위에서 이루어지도록 제한된다. 본 논문이 제안하는 동작 예측 방법과 인체 각도계(goniometer)를 이용한 경우의 상호 작용 실험을 통해, 동작 예측을 통한 인간-기계 상호 작용의 성능을 알아보았다. 실험 결과로부터, 제안된 실시간 동작 예측 방법을 이용하여 사용자와 기계의 상호 작용 시스템을 구현할 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

FW-H 방정식에서 적분표면의 크기가 유동소음 해석결과에 미치는 영향 (Size Effect of Integral Surface of FW-H Equations on Prediction of Aeroacoustic Noise)

  • This paper presents the numerical prediction of sound generated by viscous flow past a circular cylinder. The two dimensional flow field is predicted using FEM based Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes solver, and the calculated unsteady fluid field values are utilized by an acoustic code that implements Ffowcs Willianms-Hawkings(FW-H) equation. The integration surface used in acoustic analysis is extended from the cylinder surface to permeable surfaces. The 2D based CFD calculations overpredict the acoustic amplitude, however, if adequate correlation length is used, the predicted acoustic amplitude agrees well with experiment. The predictions using extended integral surface in FW-H equation show results that contain the characteristics of quadrupole - volume integration - noise term, and do not vary seriously with the integral surface location.

  • In this paper, fatigue tests were carried out to study the behavior of growth and coalescence of multi-surface cracks which were initiated at the semi-circular surface notches, and a simulation program was developed to predict their growth and coalescence behavior. By comparing the experimental result with those of the simulation based on SPC(surface point connection), ASME and BSI(British Standards Institution) conditions, we tried to enhance the reliance and integrity of structures. This shows that the simulation result has utility for fatigue life prediction.

  • With the contemporary CAD/CAM system, where the tool path is generated and verified purely based on the geometric operation, geometric accuracy of the machined surface cannot be guaranteed dut to the cutting mechanics, meaning that the cutting mechanics should be incorporated in some fashion. In this paper, we incorporate the instantaneous cutting force and the tool deflection phenomena in predicting the machined surface for the finish-cut and milling operation. For the given NC dat including cutting conditions, the developed algorithm computes cutting force and deflection amount along the tool trajectory, and outputs the 3D graphic model of the machined surface together with error analysis. The validity and accuracy of the presented method has been tested by the actual cutting experiments. Experimental results and accuracy enhancement method together with implementing architecture of the VMCS (Virtual Machining CAM System) are discussed in the paper.

고온하 복수 표면균열의 성장 합체거동과 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구 (Fatigue Crack Growth, Coalescence Behavior and its Simulation on Multi-Surface Cracks Under the Elevated Temperature)

  • A simulation program concerned with multi-surface fatigue cracks which initiated at the semi-circular surface notches has been developed to predict their growth and coalescence behaviors at the elevated temperature. Three kinds of coalescence models such as SPC(surface point connection), ASME and BSI(British Standards Institution) conditions were applied, and the results of the simulation were compared with those of the experiment. This simulation is able to enhance the reliance and integrity of structures especially under the elevated temperature which have lots of difficulties in experiments and applications. This shows that the simulation result has utility for fatigue life prediction. Even though all the specimens were the same shape, the error rate was increased in accordance with the applied stress to the specimen. Among the material constants C and m in the narrow band, the results applied upper values of the band to the simulation has shown quite small error compared with the experiment results.

AL6061-T4의 측면 엔드밀 가공에서 표면거칠기 예측을 위한 인공신경망 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of ANN for Surface Roughness Prediction in Side Milling AL6061-T4 by Endmill)

  • We applied an artificial neural network (ANN) and evaluated surface roughness prediction in lateral milling using an endmill. The selected workpiece was AL6061-T4 to obtain data of surface roughness measurement based on the spindle speed, feed, and depth of cut. The Bayesian optimization algorithm was applied to the number of nodes and the learning rate of each hidden layer to optimize the neural network. Experimental results show that the neural network applied to optimize using the Expected Improvement(EI) algorithm showed the best performance. Additionally, the predicted values do not exactly match during the neural network evaluation; however, the predicted tendency does march. Moreover, it is found that the neural network can be used to predict the surface roughness in the milling of aluminum alloy.

UM 자료를 이용한 노면온도예측모델(UM-Road)의 개발 (Development of Road Surface Temperature Prediction Model using the Unified Model output (UM-Road))

  • A road surface temperature prediction model (UM-Road) using input data of the Unified Model (UM) output and road physical properties is developed and verified with the use of the observed data at road weather information system. The UM outputs of air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, downward shortwave radiation, net longwave radiation, precipitation and the road properties such as slope angles, albedo, thermal conductivity, heat capacity at maximum 7 depth are used. The net radiation is computed by a surface radiation energy balance, the ground heat flux at surface is estimated by a surface energy balance based on the Monin-Obukhov similarity, the ground heat transfer process is applied to predict the road surface temperature. If the observed road surface temperature exists, the simulated road surface temperature is corrected by mean bias during the last 24 hours. The developed UM-Road is verified using the observed data at road side for the period from 21 to 31 March 2013. It is found that the UM-Road simulates the diurnal trend and peak values of road surface temperature very well and the 50% (90%) of temperature difference lies within ${\pm}1.5^{\circ}C$ (${\pm}2.5^{\circ}C$) except for precipitation case.

작은 표면균열의 성장특성에 의한 수명예측 (A Fatigue Life Prediction by Growth Characteristics of a Small Surface Crack)

  • This paper deals with a fatigue life prediction of a surface crack based on the experimentally obtained relationship between surface crack length ratio $a/a_{f}$ and cycle ratio $N/N_{f}$ using micro computer. Firstly $a/a_{f}$-$N/N_{f}$ curves obtained from experimental tests, were assumed as three curves UC(the upper limit curve), LC(the lower limit curve) and MC(the middle curve), and these were utilized to predict the fatigue life. Comparing the calculated values which represent the characteristics of crack growth behaviors from the three assumed curves with the experimental ones, it has been found that in the stable crack growth region, they coincide reasonably well each other. And the differences between the fatigue lives obtained from the assumed curves and the experimental fatigue life did not exceed 20%. Using the characteristics of $a/a_{f}$-$N/N_{f}$ curves, it is possible to predict the da/dN-Kmax curves and the S-$N_{f}$ curves.

  • 철도차량의 차륜에서 발생하는 크랙은 표면으로부터 개시하는 표면크랙, 내부에서 개시하는 내부크랙으로 나눌 수 있고, 이들 크랙은 철도의 안전운행에 위험요소가 된다. 그러므로 이들 크랙의 성장수명 판단은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 철도차륜의 표면크랙 및 내부크랙의 응력분포상태, 변위 및 성장수명을 연구하였다. 특히 내부 및 표면크랙에 대해 유한요소해석을 실시하여 크랙선단의 응력상태, 변위, 응력확대계수를 찾아내었고, 이를 바탕으로 Paris 공식을 사용하여 성장수명을 예측하였다.
