A Schema Approach to Cognitive Resonance and Its Decision-making Performance

  • This paper is aimed at proposing a new framework to predict decision performance, by Investigating decision maker's cognitive resonance. We assume that every decision maker has two kinds of schema­emotional schema and rational schema. Cognitive resonance is believed to have a close relationship with the two schemata and decision performance. In literature on decision performance there is no study' seeking relationship among the two schemata ana cognitive resonance. Therefore, our research purposes are twofold: (1) to provide a theoretical basis for the proposed framework describing the causal relationships among two schemata, cognitive resonance, and decision Performance, and (2) to empirically prove its validity applying to. Internet shopping Situation. Based on the questionnaires from 13S- respondents, we used a second order confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to extract valid constructs, and structural equation model (SEM) to calculate path coefficients and prove the statistical validity of our proposed research model. Experimental results supported our research model with some further research issues.

Effect of Experience, Education, Record Keeping, Labor and Decision Making on Monthly Milk Yield and Revenue of Dairy Farms Supported by a Private Organization in Central Thailand

  • The objective of this research was to assess the effect of experience, education, record keeping, labor, and decision making on monthly milk yield per farm (MYF), monthly milk yield per cow (MYC), monthly milk revenue per farm (MRF), and monthly revenue per cow (MRC) of dairy farms supported by a private organization in Central Thailand. The dataset contained 34,082 monthly milk yield and revenue records collected from January 2004 to December 2008 on 497 farms, and information on individual farmer experience and education, record keeping, and decision making obtained with a questionnaire. Farmer experience categories were i) no experience, ii) one year, iii) two to five years, iv) six to ten years, v) eleven to fifteen years, vi) sixteen to twenty years, and vii) more than twenty years. Farmer education categories were i) no education or primary school, ii) high school, and iii) bachelor or higher degree. Record keeping categories were: i) no records and ii) kept records. Labor categories were: i) family, ii) hired people, and iii) family and hired people. Decision making categories were: i) decisions made by farmers themselves, ii) decisions made with help from government officials, and iii) decisions made with help from organization staff. The mixed linear model contained the fixed effects of year-season, farm location-farm size subclass, experience, education, record keeping, labor, and decision making on sire selection, and the random effects of farm and residual. Results showed that longer experience increased (p<0.05) monthly milk yield (MYF and MYC) and revenue (MRF and MRC). Farms that hired people produced the highest (p<0.05) monthly milk yield (MYF and MYC) and revenue (MRF and MRC), followed by farms that used family, and the lowest values were for farms that used both family and hired people. Better educated farmers produced more MYC and MRC (p<0.05) than lower educated farmers. Farms that kept records had higher MYF and MRF (p<0.05) than those without records. Although differences among farms were non-significant, farms that received help from the organization staff had higher monthly milk yield (MYF and MYC) and revenue (MRF and MRC) than those that decided by themselves or with help from government officials. These findings suggested that dairy farmers needed systematic training and continuous support to improve farm milk production and revenues in a sustainable manner.

노인요양시설의 서비스품질이 서비스만족과 의사결정에 미치는 영향 (Effects of service quality to service satisfaction and decision making in elderly care facility)

  • 본 연구는 사회복지시설 특별히 노인요양시설의 선택이라는 의사결정에 영향을 미치는 요인을 실증적으로 검증하였다. 노인장기요양보험제도의 실시에 따라서 시설이용자는 서비스선택이라는 의사결정에 직면하게 된다. 하지만 이용자의 의사결정이란 우리나라의 사회복지 현실에서는 비교적 새로운 개념이다. 검증을 위해서 전북지역의 20개 노인요양시설로부터 212명의 응답자에게 자료를 수집했고, 구조방정식(SEM)을 이용해서 분석했다. 연구모형으로 서비스품질은 서비스만족을 매개로 의사결정에 영향을 미친다는 모형을 제안했다. 구조방정식을 통한 분석결과 서비스품질에서 서비스만족 경로의 표준경로계수는 0.556(t=4.608, p<0.01)으로 나타났고, 서비스 만족에서 의사결정 경로의 표준경로계수는 0.785(t=5.249, p<0.01)로 나타났다. 모형의 절대적합지수는 χ2 = 580.151(d.f.=317, p-value=0.000)이고, RMSEA=0.063이며, 상대적합지수 CFI=0.915로 모형은 절대적으로 뿐만 아니라 상대적으로 적합했다. 또한 서비스품질의 결정요인인 응답성, 신뢰성, 확신성, 공감성, 유형성이 검증되었고, 이들의 서비스품질 결정 가중치는 제시된 순서임이 확인되었다. 연구결과는 서비스품질이 노인요양시설 이용자의 의사결정으로 이어지는 모델과 요인간의 역학관계를 제시하고 있으며, 시설관리자가 시설운영을 위해서 고려해야 할 서비스품질, 서비스만족, 그리고 의사결정과 관련된 요소를 시사하고 있다.

지자체 발전전략과 공간적 의사결정지원체계의 연계 방안 연구 (Linkage the Development Strategy of Local Government to Spatial Decision Support System)

  • 본 연구는 지방자치단체의 발전전략에서 정책결정과정을 주목하고, 지리정보 기반의 공간적 의사결정지원체계의 활용방안을 제시하는데 목적을 두었다. 공간적 의사결정지원체계는 해당 지역주민의 참여를 통해 이해관계가 얽혀있는 갈등상황을 최소화하고, 정책의 기획부터 집행까지 주민이 참여하여 지역현안을 해결하는 방안으로써 논의되고 있다. 이 논의는 지자체의 사회경제적 여건과 특성을 고려하지 못한 채 획일적인 정책결정과정을 개선하는 방안으로써 의미가 있다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라의 중소도시규모인 경기도 구리시를 사례지역으로 선정하고, 도시발전전략과 정책목표를 분석하여 주민참여를 위한 공간적 의사결정지원체계를 제안하였다. 연구방법은 구리시청 실무자를 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하고, 지리정보 관련 담당부서는 심층면접을 수행하였다. 연구결과, 지리정보를 활용한 공간적 의사결정지원체계는 다음과 같은 요소들을 고려해야 한다. 첫째, 해당 지역이 가지고 있는 지리적 환경과 자원을 고려하여 지역발전전략을 계획해야 한다. 둘째, 지역발전을 위한 지리정보의 활용은 실무자의 GIS에 대한 인식개선과 해당 업무에서 지리정보와 연계활용측면의 교육이 중요하다. 셋째, 주민참여를 위한 의사결정지원체계 요소는 참여주체, 시스템, 그리고 제도행정으로 구분하여 분석하였다. 향후, 지자체 발전전략을 위한 공간적 의사결정지원체계는 다양한 지역의 인문 사회 자연환경적 요소를 고려한 통합적인 추진모형구축이 필요하다.

The Effect of Cognitive Dieting Behavior on Consumers' Food Perceptions, Emotional Responses, and Value Conflict in Restaurants

  • This study was intended to examine the influence of health consciousness on health/taste inferences, affect-based inferences, and perceived conflict between taste and health in food decision making. Seven hundred and fifty-four participants completed the survey. Structural equation modeling with a maximum likelihood method was used to test the relationships among constructs, following the two-step approach. The results of this study showed that more health-conscious consumers have a higher perceived healthfulness of food items but lower anticipated taste. In addition, this study also found consumers' cognitive responses influenced affective responses. Results suggested that when restaurants promote menu items as both healthy and tasty, consumers' positive hedonic emotions (such as pleasure) increased and negative self-conscious emotions (such as guilt) decreased, and consumers' efforts to balance health and taste were supported. At last, the implications both for academia and marketing were also established and discussed.

국방특화연구센터의 효율성 분석 및 연구 성과 향상방안 연구 (Efficiency Analysis of the Defense Research Center and Improvement of Performance)

  • Recently, the investment and importance have been increasing concerning the researches which are based on fundamental studies. In defense science and technology development, the defense research centers are involved in a large portion of developing the potential capability such as defense applied technology, enhanced human resource, etc. In this paper, we analyzed the relative efficiency of 9 research centers(9 DMU : Decision Making Unit) supported by the defense budget, using DEA(Date Envelopment Analysis) method especially with the CCR-I(Charnes, Cooper, Rhodes-Input) model. Some variables are selected such as budget(input data), patent, article and human resource(output data) to be analyzed. Conclusively, the needs to identify performance-indicators, increase incentives to promote the performance and induce enthusiastic participation in defense science and development projects, are suggested via a relative efficiency analysis.

환자평가표에 의한 요양병원 입원 노인들의 일상생활사 의사결정 인식기술 상태와 일상생활수행능력 간의 관계 (Relationship between the State of Decision Making Recognition Technology for Daily Living and Activities of Daily Living(ADL) of Inpatients in Geriatric Hospital on the Patient Core Card)

  • 본 연구는 2013년 12월 현재 요양병원에 입원생활 중인 노인들 중 환자평가표의 평가구분에서 계속입원중인 환자 평가를 받은 3개월 이상 입원중인 노인들을 대상으로 실질적으로 부양 및 요양간병 시 집중적으로 관심을 가져야 하는 일상생활활동이 무엇인지를 파악해 보고자 하였다. 연구결과, 일상생활사에 관한 의사결정을 할 수 있는 인식기술 상태와 일상생활활동수행능력들 간의 인과관계를 로지스틱 함수를 이용하여 추정한 결과, 일상생활사 의사결정 인식기술 상태가 심하게 손상된 경우에는 노인들에게 실질적으로 부양 및 요양간병 시 '식사하기' 활동과 '옮겨 앉기' 활동에 집중적으로 관심을 가져야 한다는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 '식사하기' 활동과 '옮겨 앉기' 활동 외의 활동들은 일상생활사에 관한 의사결정을 할 수 있는 인식기술 상태보다는 노화나 질병으로 인한 신체적 기능이 떨어져서 나타난 결과로 유추해 볼 필요성이 있을 것이다. 따라서 이 경우에는 부양이나 요양간병 시 도움을 받는 노인들의 인격이나 수치심 등 자존감을 고려하여 수발자들은 행동과 언어에 각별히 신경을 써야 할 것이다.

독거노인의 자기결정권 인식과 의사결정 지원 필요성에 대한 영향요인 연구 (A Study on the Factors Affecting the Recognition of Self-determination Right and the Necessity of Decision Support for the Elderly Living Alone)

  • 본 연구는 독거노인의 자기결정 욕구 수준과 의사결정지원에 대한 욕구를 파악함으로써 독거노인에 대한 의사결정지원의 방향 탐색을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 서울시 5개 구의 독거노인 300명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 응답 독거노인들은 노인 자신의 결정과 관련된 경제, 의료와 요양, 사회서비스, 거소 결정 등 주요 욕구 5개 영역 중 거소에 대한 자기결정권 반영을 가장 중요한 것으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 의사결정 지원의 필요성에 대해 응답자들은 3.64(4점 척도)로 매우 높게 인식하고 있었다. 이는 연령대에 따라 유의미한 차이를 보였는데 연령대가 높아질수록 의사결정 지원의 필요성을 높게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다(p<.001). 셋째, 독거노인의 의사결정 지원 필요성 인식에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 결과 연령이 높을수록, 가족에 대한 신뢰가 높을수록, 거소 결정에 있어서 본인의 의사가 반영되는 것이 중요하다고 인식할수록 의사결정 지원의 필요성을 높게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 독거노인들이 인지가 저하되기 전의 결정 사항들이 노후에 반영될 수 있도록 하는 의사결정지원체계의 마련과 신뢰하는 가족들이 법적인 체계 내에서 의사결정지원자로서 역할을 할 수 있도록 제도화하는 것을 제안하였다. 이와 함께 최근 노인복지정책의 방향성으로 제시되고 있는 AIP가 의미를 갖기 위해 독거노인들의 거소 결정에 대한 의사를 미리 확인하고 그러한 의사를 반영할 수 있는 체계 마련을 제언하였다.

  • Price, one of the marketing 4p's, is a key decision variable affecting market share and the profitability of individual products. For consumers, since price is almost always known to and can be compared, it is one of the most important criteria when they make a purchase decision making. With the consumers' increasing consciousness for price due to economic recession, and the saturation of domestic apparel market, it is expected that the effect of price on consumers' decision making would be greater than ever. This study, the first in two part series, focuses on testing the validity of dimensions of clothing price using Lichtenstein et. at. (1993)'s suggestion. In addition, the effect of demographic variables on the perception of each price dimension was investigated. The subjects were 264 college students living in Seoul, Korea. The data were collected by self -administered questionnaires and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, regression analysis and Lisrel confirmatory factor analysis. The result supported Lichtenstein et. al. (1993)'s suggestion. That is, consumers' perception of clothing price is not mini-dimensional, but has six dimensions: sale proneness, price mavenism, value consciousness, price consciousness, price -quality schema and prestige sensitivity. Demographic variables partially effect on the consumers' perception of each clothing price dimension. The level of monthly pocket money, however, has influence on all price dimensions. Based on these results, marketing implications for apparel manufacturers were suggested.

항만하역 근로자들의 직무 스트레스에 관한 연구 (A Study on Job Stress of Container Termainal Workers)

  • Objectives: The objective of this study is to evaluate the job characteristics of container terminal workers by applying the Job Strain model, and to assess the relationship among the general characteristics, job characteristics and psychosocial distress. Methods: A self-administrated questionnaire survey was performed to the container terminal workers in Pusan. Among the 200 male workers who answered the questionnaires, white-collar workers and blue-collar workers were 100, respectively. Karaseks Job Content Questionnaire was utilized to evaluate the job characteristics and Psychosocial well-being index (PWI) was applied to measure the extent of their psychosocial stress. Results: In white-collar workers, the skill discretion, created skill, decision-making authority, decision-making latitude, psychological job demand, and supervisor support of the job characteristics were significantly high, while in blue-collar workers physical exertion was significantly high. The result of Psychosocial well-being index (PWI) reveals that blue-collar workers were more stressed than white-collar workers, especially, the indices of depression (factor 2), sleeping disturbance and anxiety (factor 3), General well-being and vitality (factor 4) were significantly increased; whereas, in white-collar workers, only the index of social performance and self-confidence (factor 1) was significantly increased. And PWI scores were significantly increased in the lower social support and psychological job demand. By the multiple logistic regression analysis for PWI, blue-collar workers had increased odds ratio of 2.66(95% CI;1.11-6.41) compared with white-collar workers. The unmarried workers increased odds ratio of 3.54(95% CI;1.18-10.62) compared with married workers. And workers who have not own house increased odds ratio of 2.35(95% CI;1.15-4.79) compared with workers who have own house. Particularly, odds ratio of work-shift in blue-collar workers was 11.10(2.14-57.64). Conclusion: Skill discretion, created skill, decision-making authority, decision-making latitude, psychological job demand, and supervisor support were increased in white-collar workers. Decreased skill discretion and increased physical exertion were found in blue-collar workers, which is supported the Job Strain model. Job stress of blue-collar workers was comparatively higher than that of white-collar workers, especially, skill discretion, decision-making authority, decision-making latitude, job insecurity, physical exertion were noticeable factors. Especially, sleeping, smoking, and work shifting turned out to be a main cause that increases stress. Therefore, in order to decrease the job stress, a health promotion program to change the health behaviors should be activated and an organized job stress management program should be introduced. Especially, working condition for blue-collar such as physical exertion and work-shift should be improved.
