  • In this paper, we have studied the ship collision avoidance support on the basis of 'Ship Collision Avoidance Model considered a Speed' for the purpose of the decrease of the human error, caused ship collisions, at sea and the effective support of avoiding ship collisions. The program has been reflected the speed of a target ship, had not been considered in a preceding study. Besides, the program will effectively support a maneuver for a collision avoidance, through the display of a feasible area and the method of a collision avoidance using the own ship's turning characteristic about the action of target ship's course and velocity.

  • Launch Interface Ring roles as connection department of satellite and launcher for to deliver all structure loads that occur from the satellite, and one of the most intensive load received parts. Especially COMS, the first Korean developing GEO satellite, needs Launch Interface Ring with Tank Support Beam because of dissymmetry fuel tanks. The purpose of this study is the suitable form decision of Launch Interface Ring at preliminary design of COMS. In this study, launch mass and design constraints are investigated. Moreover, optimization algorithm and simplification technique are used. At the beginning of this study, three types of launch interface ring were presented and finally model 3 was the lightest design for resistance of launch environment. Nevertheless, model 1 can be suggested for application to COMS because of the satellite gravity center control and ease of fabrication.

  • This paper is concerned with the elastic buckling of cylindrical shells with internal rigid ring supports. The internal supports impose a zero lateral deflection constraint on the buckling modes at their locations. An automated Rayleigh-Ritz method is presented for solving this buckling problem. The method can handle any combination of end conditions and any number of internal supports. Moreover, it is simple to code and can yield very accurate solutions. New buckling results for cylindrical shells with a single internal ring support, and under lateral pressure and hydrostatic pressure, are given in the form of design charts. These results should be valuable to engineering designers.

  • Let R be an associative unital ring with an endomorphism α and α-derivation δ. The constant products of elements in Ore extension rings, when the coefficient ring is reversible, is investigated. We show that if f(x) = ∑ni=0 aixi and g(x) = ∑mj=0 bjxj be nonzero elements in Ore extension ring R[x; α, δ] such that g(x)f(x) = c ∈ R, then there exist non-zero elements r, a ∈ R such that rf(x) = ac, when R is an (α, δ)-compatible ring which is reversible. Among applications, we give an exact characterization of the unit elements in R[x; α, δ], when the coeficient ring R is (α, δ)-compatible. Furthermore, it is shown that if R is a weakly 2-primal ring which is (α, δ)-compatible, then J(R[x; α, δ]) = N iℓ(R)[x; α, δ]. Some other applications and examples of rings with this property are given, with an emphasis on certain classes of NI rings. As a consequence we obtain generalizations of the many results in the literature. As the final part of the paper we construct examples of rings that explain the limitations of the results obtained and support our main results.

  • In this study, the impact of ring supports around the shell circumferential has been examined for their various positions along the shell axial length using Rayleigh-Ritz formulation. These shells are stiffened by rings in the tangential direction. For isotropic materials, the physical properties are same everywhere where the laminated and functionally graded materials, they vary from point to point. Here the shell material has been taken as functionally graded material. The influence of the ring supports is investigated at various positions. These variations have been plotted against the locations of ring supports for three values of length-to-diameter ratios. Effect of ring supports with middle layer thickness is presented using the Rayleigh-Ritz procedure with three different conditions. The influence of the positions of ring supports for clamped-clamped is more visible than simply supported and clamped-free end conditions. The frequency first increases and gain maximum value in the midway of the shell length and then lowers down. The Lagrangian functional is created by adding the energy expressions for the shell and rings. The axial modal deformations are approximated by making use of the beam functions. The comparisons of frequencies have been made for efficiency and robustness for the present numerical procedure. Throughout the computation, it is observed that the frequency behavior for the boundary conditions follow as; clamped-clamped, simply supported-simply supported frequency curves are higher than that of clamped-simply curves. To generate the fundamental natural frequencies and for better accuracy and effectiveness, the computer software MATLAB is used.

  • From a point of view of suggesting the method to avoid ship's collision, the speed of ships has to be considered sufficiently according to encounter angle of ships. But with respect to the establishment of Safe-Guard Ring of Ship Collision Avoidance Support Model in Close Quarters Situation that had been newly studied to avoid ship's collision, the ratio of own ship' speed to a target ship's speed was limited to about less than 1.7. Therefore in this paper, as doing a study concerned with the establishment of Safe-Guard Ring reflected the encounter angle and the speed of ships, we will propose the new model of ship collision avoidance for safe maneuver of ship's collision avoidance.

  • Based on novel Galerkin's technique, the theoretical study gives a prediction to estimate the vibrations of FG rotating cylindrical shell. Terms of ring supports have been introduced by a polynomial function. Three different laws of volume fraction are utilized for the vibration of cylindrical shells. Variation frequencies with the locations of ring supports have been analyzed and these ring supports are placed round the circumferential direction. The base of this approach is an approximate estimation of eigenvalues of proper functions which are the results of solutions of vibrating equation. Each longitudinal wave number corresponds to a particular boundary condition. The results are given in tabular and graphical forms. By increasing different value of height-to-radius ratio, the resulting backward and forward frequencies increase and frequencies decrease on increasing length-to-radius ratio. There is a new form of frequencies is obtained for different positions of ring supports, which is bell shaped. Moreover, on increasing the rotating speed, the backward frequencies increase and forward frequencies decreases.

  • In wireless sensor network (WSN) monitoring systems, redundant data from sluggish environmental changes and overlapping sensing ranges can increase the volume of data sent by nodes, degrade the efficiency of information collection, and lead to the death of sensor nodes. To reduce the energy consumption of sensor nodes and prolong the life of WSNs, this study proposes a dual layer intracluster data fusion scheme based on ring buffer. To reduce redundant data and temporary anomalous data while guaranteeing the temporal coherence of data, the source nodes employ a binarized similarity function and sliding quartile detection based on the ring buffer. Based on the improved support degree function of weighted Pearson distance, the cluster head node performs a weighted fusion on the data received from the source nodes. Experimental results reveal that the scheme proposed in this study has clear advantages in three aspects: the number of remaining nodes, residual energy, and the number of packets transmitted. The data fusion of the proposed scheme is confined to the data fusion of the same attribute environment parameters.

  • No one really doubts that the hottest area of dentistry in 21st century would most likely be 'implant'. With the support of a vast amount of research, implant has been successfully and rapidly absorbed into the field of general dentistry including private practitioners. For teeth with hopeless(or refractory) periodontitis or periapical pathosis, with no hesitation most dentists would think extraction as the sole treatment option followed by prosthodontic replacement possibly including implant. Not many dentists would take Trasplantation/Replantation as another treatment option for a particular condition. Dentistry is often more focused on 'Restoration' than 'Preservation' of natural dentition. 'Biologic Implant' is obviously much closer to the concept of 'Preservation'. Many different types of biologic implant system have been introduced to clinical dentistry so far. Many of those have failed to earn reasonable acknowledgement despite of the clinical success they brought. For some reason biologic implant has rather been alienated for long time. RPI(Ring Pin Implant) is designed to improve the prognosis and success rate of transplanted/replanted teeth. RPI is a Ti-based custom made implant system. It is fabricated either by electric casting or milling process. The major feature RPI gas is the 'ring & hole' structure. The hole should be no less than 1mm diameter to allow bone bridge formation thru it. The ring structure and bone bridge formation creates anti-torque activity, which largely increases the 'initial stability' of the transplanted/replanted teeth. It is also reported that RPI is beneficial in the aspect of resisting root resorption following replantation/transplantation procedure.
